Ore Monogatari!! (My Love Story!!)
Title: Ore Monogatari!! (My Love Story!!)
Studio: Madhouse
Genre: Comedy, Romance
What is it about?
Takeo is a massive high schooler who looks a bit like a gorilla but is super kind and sweet. All the girls fall for Takeo's best friend but that changes when he rescues a girl called Yamato. It's love at first sight!
What I liked:
Hilarious! Takeo is so over the top. His facial expressions and general behaviour made me laugh out loud.
Actual nice characters. There isn't really any drama between Takeo and Yamato because they're both nice. They become a couple quickly.
The friendships in this anime are really sweet. Silly but sweet. Takeo's best friend is a bit weird but he supports his best friend always.
Happy and bright! Lots of sparkly, romantic goodness!
What I didn't like so much:
There is a lot of cake eating and hanging out being cute together. Some people might not like that but I found it sweet.
Not a lot happens, to be honest. It's just wholesome and funny.
I really liked this anime. I watched it over 5 days and didn't get tired of it. I found is really relaxing because of how happy and feel-good it was. And it did make me laugh quite a lot!
Title: Audrey Rose (1977)
Director: Robert Wise
Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Marsha Mason, and Susan Swift
Genre: Supernatural Drama / Psychological Thriller
Have you ever seen The Exorcist? After it was released a lot of scary movies with creepy children came out but Audrey Rose was a bit different. It's not about a possessed and evil child but a reincarnated soul.
Ivy Templeton is your average 11 year old girl living a quiet life in New York City with her mother and father. But one day everything changes when she's followed home by a strange man who is obsessed with the idea that Ivy is his daughter reincarnated. Ivy begins to have wild night terrors and only the mysterious stranger can help her.
Hazy summer dreams
This week was dreamy and hot. Lots of precious moments with Daddy. It feels like a wonderful, hazy dream.
Picnics in the garden have been abundant. Pimms on the lawn. Earl grey and tea cakes. Evening meals spent in the shade. The dog running about the garden, begging for tasty bites and flopping down heavily next to us when it all gets too much.
When the heatwave hit the nights were long, hot and sticky. Sleeping naked with the windows open, covers thrown aside trying to feel the slightest breathe of air. A few times the skies opened and rain thundered down outside bringing a little relief from the heat.
Accidentally on purpose spraying Daddy with the water gun. Instant regret but so much laughter and squealing as I pay the price. Being chased, playing the victim, I never win these water fights but I never really feel like I've lost either. We lay together drying out on the grass watching sunlight through the leaves of the big tree.
So many walks in the woods and along the rivers. Lots of hidden secrets discovered and kept in my memories. The smell of the water as it flows past. Reminders of life's endless cycle in the schools of little river fish, the ducklings swimming behind their mother and the little eggshells found on the woodland paths.
Relaxing in a warm bath surrounded by bubbles just letting the day soak away. Soft, pink sunlight coming in through the window making pretty patterns on the wall. My favourite songs playing in the distance. Little visits from the dog, him checking I'm okay.
