"NOT SO FAST, KID." There were eyes everywhere around the town, and within the bubble that number practically quadrupled. It was all manifested by Bill, every shape and color an object he could look through to ensure his newest trap would succeed. The moment his puppets heard the kid not succumb to the drawl of this dreamlike world, it had all turned dark. The smiling faces revealed their true horror, eyes beginning to glow a vibrant yellow with angry cat like pupils all directed at the one refusing to take the bait. Fine, guess some intervention was needed after all. Bill has arrived in seconds, the false skyline flashing black and grey before he's shifted into Mabeland. "YOU ARE AS ANNOYINGLY PERSISTANT AS EVER, PINE TREE!"

mabeland had dipper on edge from the very second he had shown up there. his surroundings were all shades of sickly eye-searing neon, so very mabel, but something about it was just WRONG. it was all nauseating, saccharine for the sake of placating everyone who went in there, and he was having none of it.

wendy and soos may have let themselves believe in whatever this place wanted to show them - but dipper wouldn't let himself. (even if he really wanted to.)

eventually, he had wandered towards the nearby creek to try and get away from all of the people. he didn't want to have anyone or anything around to try and convince him that staying here was the best option than going back out there into the midst of weirdmageddon yet again. and though this copy of wendy had tried to convince him, tried to tempt him with his crush..

she WINKED, just like the shapeshifter did, she's not real! - this isn't real! his thoughts pour out through his mouth, as he pulls away from her outstretched hand. with it, the illusion had started to fall apart. going from some reminder of his sister and her craft, to something far more horrifying. a proper reflection of the outside world.

the voice of bill was unexpected though, and dipper whirls around to try and find the source of it. specifically avoiding making eye contact with everything watching him in return - looking for the entity who had just spoken.

THERE.

with his appearance, he points a finger directly in his face. " bill! " he manages to at least regain his previous composure when he had bill to focus on rather than all of the eyes staring at him. the simmering anger that he had felt when he saw him face-to-face last time had only come back tenfold. " give me my sister back! "

abatina :   is there anything in life your muse has changed their mind about over time   (   due to becoming more educated on the topic ,   certain experiences  ,   etc .   ) ,    or that they   would   change their mind about under certain circumstances ?  

THIS ONE IS REALLY HARD TO PIN DOWN but honestly i think his opinions on stan and ford Very much fall under this. with stan, he was incredibly suspicious of him from the get-go. to the point where, as we know, he and mabel used an 8-ball to figure out if they should escape through the window and report him to the fbi. though, he ended up trusting him more and more over time. ESPECIALLY once stan ended up telling the whole truth in atots and dipper really started to understand why he did what he did. ford was kinda the opposite, though, in which he looked up to him so much and REALLY wanted to be like him and work with him due to learning that he was the author of the journals. eventually, i think that like.. starstruck feeling + want to impress him started to go away as he got to know ford more. (though i think it stuck around on some level til post-weirdmageddon) started to treat him more like he treats everyone finally.

poppy :   what comforts your muse ?

honestly, i think dipper gets the most comfort from being around his family! in my mind, he struggles a lot with any coping mechanisms that are focused solely on him dealing with himself, especially because i think he tends to get lost in his anxiety and feelings, so the presence of other people help him the most. it's the sort of thing where having someone to watch him allows him to really relax. (and tbh i think he'd eventually really enjoy something like boxing if he ever tried it! and that would be a mindless task he could practice to comfort himself i can totally imagine.)

sunflower :   what brings your muse the most joy in life ?  

he's a nerd :( i think it's the journals/the creatures in gravity falls + just the supernatural in general. he's a very curious person and finds a lot of joy in figuring things out for himself and i think learning about the supernatural and adding onto journal 3 (including adding creatures/talking about weird events that weren't in the journal initially) + i think that's a high he really really still wants to chase. which is why he ended up making his own journal!

she snatches the heavy sci fi gun from his hands, holding it up to examine it for any damages. digits press gingerly along the barrel, following down to the trigger; pressing a button, the railgun humans awake lighting up red. it's humming grows louder and louder before the light goes out suddenly, the shrill hum dying down. she huffs, chucking it over her back and glaring a scolding look to the boy.

" you're lucky you didn't BLOW YOURSELF UP. didn't your human parents ever teach you to keep your hands to yourself. "

despite great-uncle ford’s many futuristic items from other dimensions that he’s shown dipper, the railgun that belonged to uzi was a design that he’s never seen before. and in typical dipper fashion, he was curious (and stupid) enough to start touching it and studying it as much as he possibly could before he had to hand it back to her. he handled it with care - never touching any buttons or triggers and never sticking his face where he thinks the end is at - but there was a line that he was clearly stepping over.

evidenced by the fact that she proceeded to yank it out of his hands, which.. fair enough, he supposes. it was still disappointing, regardless, and he pouts a little at her scalding reaction. he moves on from it quickly though, wanting to focus on the subject at hand instead of her annoyance at him.

" yes, but i just wanted to take a look! i’ve never seen anything like it before! " he sounds pretty excited when he says that, bouncing on his toes absentmindedly. he really, really wants to know how it works. so, he watches her check the gun and make sure he didn't do anything to damage it.

which.. ow, but fair enough yet again. " i made sure not to touch anything that looked like it'd do something. i know how to handle dangerous equipment! ... did you make it yourself? "

edelweiss :   what was the bravest moment in your muse’s life ?are they known to be courageous from then on ?

THIS IS A REALLY GOOD QUESTION and honestly, it's hard to pin down an Exact moment because i think there's several smaller moments that started building up more and more. though, i think the biggest initial one is when he jumped into gideon's robot to start fighting him. because that shit was fucking crazy and i think he really got the courage to do that with 1) how gideon was talking to him before this and 2) BECAUSE OF STAN IN DREAMSCAPERERS!!!!! i think learning that stan was proud of him and wanted to toughen him up and encourage him to fight back gave him the fire to really even CONSIDER doing something like that and i think it's great.

and i definitely think he starts to be more courageous from then onward! it becomes a normal thing for him to start to stand up for himself and to fight back in instances where he probably wouldn't have earlier on. (especially when you think about the fact that one of the first things he did when he was face-to-face with bill during weirdmageddon was try to punch him directly in the eye.)

anemone :   how does your muse view the world ;   as a cruel   &   unforgiving place ,   a land full of wonders ,   or something in - between ?  where does that world view come from   (   what experiences ,   life lessons ,   etc .   ) ?  

despite his more pessimistic + "objective" view on the world, i think dipper does view the world as a land full of wonders! which, for obvious reasons, comes from him being twelve. but i think he's always been a curious child who wanted to learn more about the world around him, and going to gravity falls definitely fostered that sort of view! <- especially considering just how easily he took in the journal and all of its contents into his own worldview, and how he started to add onto it with extra information and about all the stuff that he saw in gravity falls that weren't in the journal when he first got it.

chamomile :   what is your muse likely to take away from a painful experience ?   are they one to be haunted by adversity ,   or to use what they’ve gone through to become stronger ?  

huffs and sighs. dipper is incredibly haunted. on one hand, he definitely learns from his mistakes to try and become stronger and smarter. BUT. he's young, and especially in the second half of the show, he's starting to throw himself into situations that are progressively getting more and more dangerous. he's also an already incredibly anxious individual, so i think a lot of the more fucked up things that happen to him tend to stick for longer and longer periods of time. besides the obvious (weirdmageddon), sock opera and the shapeshifter are things i imagine will be something that will not get out of his mind for a LONG time.

marigold :   is your muse prone to jealousy ?  how might they handle envious feelings ? 

oh WOW is dipper prone to very "typical" jealousy like how he dealt with Everything wendy related during his summer at gravity falls. i think even beyond that, he can be very envious on how other people are viewed and treated compared to him. caused, in part, by his lack of self confidence. (being bullied pretty consistently, as well as being the more introverted twin do not help!) and heeee STRUGGLES to deal with it. i definitely feel it gets better for him later on, especially when he learns how to stand up for himself. depending on how strong the feeling is, dipper is Prone to acting out to try and be viewed in a better light, and often does stupid things. i.e. everything in double dipper. and just his relationship with robbie.

it was not often that dipper and stan got the chance to go wandering in gravity falls together, and it usually was not on their own either.

truly, he knows exactly why this was the case in the first place. they were two people who had many differences - though dipper would never admit this - they were also incredibly similar. (he's sure it's hard to look at him because of this.) besides that, stan had his obligations to tend to first and foremost, and it was hard to pull him aside to do something with just the two of them.

thankfully, this is one of the few times dipper finally managed.

stan's statement catches his attention, so he leans over to take a look, smiling in an amused sort of way. " well... " rubs his chin thoughtfully, trying to figure out how exactly to word what he wants to say next. " this was caused by a creature of some kind, though what kind specifically, i'm not sure yet! "

he points excitedly, happy to have a chance to talk about something like this with stan for once. " see? that's a pawprint. not caused by someone from gravity falls! "
