Moon nakshatra men, (Hasta, Rohini, Shravana), have got to be the most interesting bunch I've studied out of all the nakshatra guys. I say interesting because of their graceful ways of breaking gender barriers, even if it's for the sake of art, regardless of their sexuality. Even as Solar men remain to be the classic heartthrobs, Lunar men don't have to have that bright aura to demand attention. They're actually quite prevalent in the female gaze; to quickly summarize the definition in this context, what makes a man attractive in the 'female gaze' is emotional vulnerability, unafraid of exploring femininity and defying gender roles etc.

This isn't to say that moon nakshatra men aren't capable of practicing toxic masculinity, or being violent/aggressive. In fact, from what I've observed, they are very likely to be cast as corrupt cops or gangsters in films.

Christian Bale also played a wealthy investment banker, Patrick Bateman, who actually kills people on the side. Like the gangs who manage to hide their business from cops, or the corrupt cops who partake in these hidden activities, Patrick Bateman's corruption is done at night, out of sight, throughout the film (American Psycho). His indulging in chaos is due to his Ketu moon, Ashwini.

It also makes sense how they're found playing assassins too; usually being mysterious and always under the radar. There's something about the Moon that's so secretive. Even the Moon rashi men can play into this. Such as Ashlesha Sun Wi Ha-Joon from Squid Game.

Shravana Moon Song Jae-Rim (Yaksha: Ruthless Operations). Rohini Moon Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier). And also Sebastian Stan in the film Fresh, playing an organ trafficker. Very corrupted activities that need to remain hidden, as said before.

Contradictory to this, and back to the female gaze, lunar men can be really soft and feminine. Actually, more androgynous than even Mercurial men. Straight women tend to gush over them. They even make straight men question their own sexuality! (Below is a video of Jimin making them boys stumble 💀)

These men do tend to be questioned about their sexual preference and fluidity. The public is always intrigued by them because of their immunity to gender barriers. People can confuse their gender expression with queerness, which is understandable. But, lunar men are somehow always linked to homosexuality whether it be rumours or not.

They tend to grow their hair out, with a beard or not (most of the time it's without), and appear rather mysterious. Or mystical in a sense.

Stoker: India Stoker [ISFP]

Introverted Feeling (Fi): India has an internal sense of justice by which she acts, but she never seeks to explain this to anyone. As a result, a lot of what she does is mysterious. In the beginning, she passive-aggressively resists her mother’s attempts to close the gap between them, insinuating that her mother is being indecent by letting her uncle stay over so soon after her father’s death. Throughout the movie, she acts based on how she feels or what she believes is right, often without regard for practicality - she lounges around, eats ice cream from the carton, sneaks out at midnight with a boy she has no interest in, and ultimately drives away from two grisly murders seemingly without remorse.

Extroverted Sensing (Se): India is very much about the way things feel or taste - she’s hyper-aware of objects and what they represent. Even her opening monologue is about her supernatural ability to sense what others can’t. (“My ears hear what others cannot hear; small faraway things people cannot normally see are visible to me. These senses are the fruits of a lifetime of longing, longing to be rescued, to be completed.”) She acts spontaneously and often for reasons that are never quite made clear. There’s also a large focus on what she experiences in the moment; she hardly ever reminisces gets lost in her own head.

Introverted Intuition (Ni): In many ways, Stoker is a movie about problem-solving, which is just what India does throughout. She notices her uncle out of place early on, and starts forming an impression of him that she later builds by way of observation and a bit of snooping. Rather than making connections from her surroundings and analyzing all the possible conclusions, she is suspicious from the very beginning and picks up bits of information along the way to support this opinion of Charlie.

Extroverted Thinking (Te): India is fearless, patient, intelligent, and remarkably perceptive - but not practical. She intuits things before she realizes them rationally, although where her intuition fails her extroverted thinking takes up the slack. She uses her more logical side when she sifts through her uncle’s letters, further organizing the facts to pick out the evidence of his mental instability, and again when she saves her mother at the last second. Because her ability to sense is so strong, she doesn’t have nearly as developed a logical side.

6.13. Summary of the last years of the Joseon era

Below is a summary of the situation during the final stage of the Joseon era as described above.

(1) The kings and bureaucrats of the last years of the Joseon Dynasty were quite insensitive to the situation in which more and more starving people were lying on the roadside and they did nothing to save people from starvation. The rulers thought only of robbing ordinary people. The attitude of the kings and aristocrats during the Joseon era was such that the total population of Korea did not increase at all and even decreased over a period of 250 years.

(2) The government of the final years of the Joseon era did not carry out afforestation or care for the forests, while all the mountains that could be seen from the inhabited areas were denuded. In other words, the rulers had no idea of enriching the country from a long-term perspective or preventing disasters including floods and droughts.

8.9. Class discrimination ended

The class discrimination between the Yangban, sangmin (law-abiding citizens) and lowly people, which had existed from the Goryeo to the Joseon periods, completely disappeared by 1945.

Following the Goryeo era, Korea had a strict class system. The royal family, ranked highest, owned vast lands and lived in a palace without working in public office.

Next were the civil and military officials (Yangban), who received land and salary according to their status. While civil officials were employed based on the result of the Gwageo examination, the offspring of the high-ranking officials could become officials just by succession. The Yangbans did not have to pay taxes and did not engage in physical work or military service. They just learned Confucianism, took charge of politics and led a luxurious life. The Yangban class was followed by the middle class, which included technical experts such as interpreters, doctors and station officials, as well as working-level officials in the administration. Common people were divided into sanghan (law-abiding citizens) and lowly people. The majority of law-abiding citizens were peasants. In addition to paying taxes, they were obliged to provide local specialties as tributes and were also frequently mobilized for labor services. While they technically had the right to take the Gwageo examination, it was in practice impossible for them to do so, as they were too busy with farming and labor service to have time for learning.
