Awakening for the “First” time - Choices Writing prompt Series #3

You awaken with a pain in your head and your right pinky toe. Looking around your vision is blurry and slightly pixelated. Feeling a bed under you the last thing you remember is falling asleep after hitting the books.

rubbing your eyes the pixelation will just not go away. Standing up you feel a cold dusty flow under your feet. you stumble forward toward a window on the other side of the room. you open the curtains and squint your eyes in the bright sun light.

Ones your eyes adjust to the glare as much as possible you see that all the buildings around you are..Well crumbled. Windows busted out, holes in the floors filled with water, vines over everything and are those hover cars just left in the middle of what used to be streets not simply used as yards?

How long have you been out? you go back to the “bed” you were on and see wires connected to it and a small flickering screen that shows your name and a progress bar that is at 86 1/2 percent full...

What do you do now? There is no one around that you notice. Do you look for people, do you try the keyboard attached to the bed to see what you can figure out?

There you are sitting in your chair at work doing your job when suddenly boom your boss literally just appears and starts yelling at you.

You stand up to defend yourself and just as you are about to speak you see an action bar come up with choices like... Attack Defend Special Flee As you continue to stare you notice your boss is frozen in mid yell face red and all...

What is your next action?

Choices...writing Prompt

You awake from a restless night to see yourself at age 13 and yourself at 70 both sitting in chairs across from you. You Blink and hear 13 yr old you say...Well it is about time we got up. There is tons to do. Take my hand and you can change 1 think from your past form age 10 to to your last birthday 8 days ago..They reach out their hand and you slowly start to take it when 70 yr old you says...Hold on there a second...If you take my hand you change change one thing in your future from your last birthday till the age of 70 and you will see your ripple effect in real time...reaching their hand out for you to take....Which do you choose?

Late night working

He sat as his desk, watching the clock tick tick tick as the minutes passed slowly one by one by one.

Looking at his desk for the hundredth time he saw again the coffee ring from 3 nights ago and thought again I should really clean that so it does not leave a permanent stain. However he made no effort to move to clean the mess.

His cubicle was small, only enough room for a small desk to hold his laptop with one external monitor, his chair and a small 2 drawer filing cabinet.

The light above his desk flickered again. Why did they not fix this yet. I put in the request months ago. In truth it was only 5 days ago but the constant buzz and flicker from the light just made late night working just that much harder. 

He tapped the keys on his keyboard a little harder then what was needed. He grabbed for the coffee cup took a sip and set it down. He was so into his work that he did not even notice that the cup was empty. In Fact he had been empty for quite some time now. 

These late nights were really starting to get to him. But with all the clients he had no choice. If he did not do what they wanted his family could be in danger. 

To his family he was just a hardworking husband and father that did his best to juggle work and home life. Although this was true what they did not know what that in order to create the life they were now accustomed to he had to make a deal.

Prompt one

She is dead at least that is what they told him. Look at everything all of it shows her as gone but it just does not make sense to him. Looking at her photos over the past year when she did her “photo a day at 4pm″ and noticed the message left behind...Is she really gone?

Prompt two

The sound of the subway was long and slow but he could not see it in the dark damp abandoned tunnel. Out of no where he was in the subway car seeing people smiling, laughing, having a great time and then out again, He check himself over and found he had a note in his pocket that was not there before he was in the car “I hold the key, you hold time”

Fun writing prompts from LittleFanWriter

Prompt One

Person A and B are roommates however Person A is a mermaid when in the water and Person B is a Rabbet after eating more than 4 carrots in an hour span but neither knows about the other. What happens when Person A makes dinner with lots of carrots in it (IE carrots in a stir fry and than carrots in dessert) and while Person A is changing they push Person B into a pool? (Side note...they do not know the other person is what they are they are both human until their triggers happen)

Prompt Two

Person A is an undercover CIA and Person B is a suspect in a case. Person A needs to get Person B so say they did the crime. Person A sets up to move in with person B and ends up falling in love with them. How does Person A make sure they do their job but still keep Person B safe? Post your results!
