Inktober day 6!

DAY 6 INKTOBER 2018 drooling

This is a chicken too chicken to be a chicken!

Since my inktober is about drawing furry creatures in one way or another, and also using the official prompts from the inktober website, I had to put my chicken in a furry costume.

I don't think people are chicken for being afraid of showing who they really are, so the story here is that this chicken did something wrong and instead of admitting that she tries to hide in a costume.

Well, I am glad it is friday, I am actually tired after this week! The extra amount of work I put on myself by filming everything (well, editing) has been a lot, but I am still glad I am doing it. Making videos is something I have wanted to do for so long and now I am finally doing it! Hope you like the chicken chicken!

The best way to cast a spell on someone is to do something nice to them, right? And it feels awesome to make people feel awesome, so you end up casting a spell of happiness on yourself as well :D

Today I mainly wanted to test the brush pen I just got as a treat when I bought the manga paper, and the pen was lovely! I am not very good with brush pens, I usually prefere the fineliners, but I will try to fine more use for this one.

OK! Ready for another inktober day tomorrow!

Day two and I failed Tumblr! This was posted everywhere but here.. sorry Tumblr! Anyway, yesterday was “tranquil”, and I drew a tranquil cat. I wanted to try to grade the ink from light to dark, and this is the result. More to come later today! And I will never forget you again Tumblr...

#01 INKTOBER 2018 POISONOUS

Day one and word of the day is poisonous. This little guy is sad because he is poisonous and lonely since everything around him dies. Not a very cheerful first drawing maybe :)

So much to say about this first day! First of all, I have a goal of spending less than 30 minutes on each drawing. This is for two reasons. Practicing quick drawings with traditional media, and also just for having time to do inktober at all. I have to edit and publish a video before the end of the day, and I might have set the bar too high. Well, I failed on the timeline today, and it has taken me all day to work on this. The painting was over one hour which is a lot, but it was a lot of new things at once so I am going to forgive myself for that. The filming part is without a doubt the biggest challenge, just knowing that there is a camera recording my moves makes me feel like I am doing this very publicly. And the time it takes to pass the files, edit, find music that fits, and finally uploading... But, it is part of the prosess! Getting used to watching my hands on camera is a big goal, and if I make a voiceover for just one of the videos that will also be a big step up.

The ink was ok but I need some time to get used to it, the paper was very nice, it doesn't bleed at all, so art supply wise it was a good experience. I just lack the training, but hopefully after 31 days this will have improved.
