Sudden Conversation In Public Sentence Starters
âDid that asshole just cut in line up there? Jeez.â âSo is it always this busy, or did I just pick a great day to come in?â ââSorry! I didnât mean to touch your butt.â âI like your dress/shirt/hat/etc.!â âWould it be okay if I change the channel? I wanna watch the game.â âExcuse me, did the 12:15 bus come by already?â âCould I sit here? All the other tables are full.â âAre you done with that power outlet?â âExcuse me. I think Iâm lost. Could you tell me how to get to Main Street/other location?â âDo you happen to have any spare change? I need it for the bus.â âCould I borrow your cell phone? Mine just died and I need to make an urgent call.â âTough luck, buddy.â âSorry, I know this is awkward, butâŠthis stall doesnât have any toilet paperâŠâ âHey, are you all right? You look upset.â
âHey, sweetheart. Â You keeping your daddy on his toes?â

Gwen nodded. âI guess,â she said with a small smile. âWork has been very dangerous for him, though. And I keep telling him he needs a girlfriend.â She giggled to herself. âBut still, some missions are so dangerous that he doesnât come home until past midnight.â She tilted her head. âWhat do you think about that?â
Talking to Auntie Dinah was a relief, though she didnât know if she could tell anyone else, not even her teachers or friends. Even though she knew Auntie Dinah was in a relationship, from what she last saw, Gwen thought that if she had to choose a stepmother for herself, she would have chosen the blonde in front of her.

âCareful, honey, donât give the dog chocolate. Heâll get sick. And donât you eat too much either, youâll spoil your appetite.â
Gwenâs ears burned, and she scowled and stuck out her tongue at her father. âTaz likes chocolate,â she hotly replied. âI give it to him when he wants it.â
âJust because he likes it doesnât mean itâs good for him. Chocolate makes dogs sick. You donât want him getting sick, do you?â He scratched behind Tazâs ears.
Gwen pouted with a look of self-shame. âNo...â Then her face straightened. âWell, what...ev-eidance, is it, do you have that chocolate will give him a sick belly?â She knelt down and scratched Tazâs stomach, making him growl in a liking manner.

"Hey, Dad, what do you want to do for Father's Day?" She poked her nose in his bedroom and giggled. "May I come in?"
Taz responded before Jim did, running over to her with a wag of his short tail. Jim lifted his head and squinted at the clock. âAsk me again after coffee,â he groaned. âCâmere, monkey.â
Gwen let herself enjoy a satisfied smirk and giggled. She liked it when Dad played with her hair. He even tried braiding it a few weeks ago, but he gave up and called almost all of her superpowered âauntsâ for help. âDys-lex-i-a,â she repeated. Itâs not? Then why do some of the kids laugh at me orâŠâ She swallowed, wondering why she kept this private for so long. âSometimes, even my teacher gets impatient when I read in class.â She lifted her head. âWhat are you not good at?âÂ
Gwenâs hair was unmanageable. That was all there was to it. He couldnât be blamed for giving up with the braids. âBecause some people are assholes. Most teachers arenât trained to deal with it. They donât know how to do anything about it so they donât. Plus, theyâre paid like shit. Some are good but a lot just get too tired from students who donât care to help much.â Jim snorted a little. âI once had a teacher tell me, âSome people are good at math, some people are good at art. You arenât good at anything.ââ
As her father raked through her locks, Gwen sighed. âThey are? I mean, I know I have an asshole teacher, but isnât that why they have to go to college first to bed a teacher? What do you mean about how theyâre paid like shit?â Gwen swallowed and was afraid Dad was going to be a little ticked that she repeated his dirty words. âYou meanâŠyou had a teacher who told you that?â she asked as she jabbed at his chest. âWhat were you good at in school?â
âThey do. But teacherâs school only just started teaching about this stuff. Most teachers started teaching before anyone even thought dyslexia was a thing. Teachers donât make much, especially not for what they do.â Jim could hardly scold her for repeating what he said. Jim hummed in thought. âMe? Oh, well⊠gym class. I was very good at that.â
âReally?â Gwen wrinkled her nose at the thought of somebody becoming an elementary school teacher without thinking of how to help someone who struggled to read. âWell, how much do they make? As much as you?â She lifted an eyebrow. âGym class? Thatâs it? Gymâs so boring!â

Gwen made kissing noises as she scratched around the dogâs ears and hugged him. She then reached into the hallway and showed her father the Batman âWorldâs Best Detectiveâ mug steaming with black coffee and carefully walked over to the main bed. She handed her father the mug and clapped for Taz to jump onto the bed with father and daughter.
Taz licked her face, panting happily as if he hadnât seen her in days. Jim sat up with a yawn. He took the mug and kissed the side of her head. âAnd donât I have the best daughter in the world.â
Gwen panted back at the dog and blew him a kiss. She nestled against the side of her fatherâs body and the crook of his arm. âYou sure do! Who else has a daughter who actually likes doing choresâŠâ Then her face fell. âBut wait? Whatâs that thing called again? You said I may have taken it from Roy, but itâs when you canât read or see words well?â
Jim tucked her against his side, letting Taz lie across his legs. âNot anyone I know of.â He pushed some of her hair back. âItâs called dyslexia. And itâs not a bad thing, honey. Royâs got it, and heâs one of the smartest people I know. Not everyoneâs good at everything.â

Gwen lightly pouted and nodded. "Nevertheless," she said, "I think you'd still be a good teacher." She jumped onto his lap and snuggled against his chest. He smelled clean and felt skinny. He might need more food stuffed into him.

Hello Megan!
please reblog and make the list longer if you know more! (even if you donât like some)
Gwen narrowed her eyes. Was Roy aware of something she did not know? Was Dean in for Daddyâs money? âPerhaps,â she said, âbut I donât want him to hurt Daddy. What would you do if he did? Agreed, I hate everything in Math, but itâs easy, but the teacher makes it boring.â...
