"You're obviously not from up here..."
"So why are you up here?"
"Yeah, my job. You wanna see what I do?" She grinned.
Do I have a choice? The little ice harvester asked to herself. "Okay, sure."
Well, that reaction was much better than Elsa expected. Her smile, still careful and a bit shy, widened. It’d been so long since anyone had looked at her ice with anything close to the wonder this girl showed. Elsa liked it.
"It sometimes gets away from me, but that’s why I live on the mountain. So I don’t hurt anyone when it happens…" She was rambling a bit, unsure what to say after being so bold. Curiosity struck her eventually, though.
"My name’s Elsa. What’s yours?"
Kristin had to stop herself from blurting out the question, 'have you hurt anybody before'. She may not get to talk to a lot of people, but she knew some questions weren't supposed to be asked.
Still, she couldn't help but wonder.
She was so lost in her thoughts, she had barely noticed the other girl had asked for her name. "Oh, um, I'm Kristin."
She shrugged. “Well, the cold doesn’t really bother me. If it did, I wouldn’t be able to do my job very well…”
"Your job?” Kristin asked, tilting her head a little. She wasn’t a nice harvester, so what did she have to do for a job way up here. “What is it?”
Elsa’s face was a mixture of surprise and bemusement. Inside, two thoughts bickered. On the one hand, the once-princess had fled to her mountaintop for a reason: to keep people safe from her magic. If she showed this stranger, what might happen then? Elsa didn’t want to hurt yet another person with her unruly powers.
Yet, on the other, Elsa was in much better control than she ever had been before, and maybe it was the isolated loneliness talking, but she wanted to show the other girl what she could do. As much as she feared her own powers, Elsa recognized the beauty in what she could do. Keeping it hidden wasn’t something she particularly liked doing…
Eventually, her risk-taking side won out. Cautiously, Elsa stepped forward. Bringing her hands up, she let her magic sparkle and take form between them.
"Well, it’s stronger when I’m scared, or upset, but…" A moment here. Elsa had to focus on what she was making, "I just kind of…do it."
When the sparkling lights died away, an intricate snowflake shape made of pure ice sat on Elsa’s palm. With a tentative smile, she offered it to the other girl.
Kristin waited not-so-patiently for the girl to explain. After a moment, she gave up, shrugging. “Look, you don’t have to-.” But she paused as the other girl took a step forward.
She watched with wide eyes as the ice floated, taking shape. She didn’t say anything- she couldn’t if she wanted to. What exactly was someone supposed to say to that?
Gently, for Kristin knew just how delicate ice was sometimes, she took the snowflake made of ice in her gloves hands. Turning it over a few times, she looked up at the girl in front of her again.
“Whoa,” Though her thoughts were racing a mile a minute, that was the only thing she could get herself to say.
Big Frozen genderbend dump part 2 ^————-^ and quite possible the last for now, I’m tired lol
Part 1 here
I think, after seeing a few comments, that’s valid to add I do this only for fun, and curiosity. I don’t think this version is better than the original
YES YES YES YES YES FINALLY
"It’s fine." Franny said lightly, pulling the damaged shoe off. "I don’t usually wear shoes anyways. They make my feet too warm." She pulled the other one off for good measure.
"You might not want to take your shoes off up here." Kristin suggested, holding up her hands to try and stop the girl. "Even if they do make your feet warm, it gets really cold up here."
Dangerous?
Elsa wanted to believe they were wrong, but she knew better. The girl’s outbursts of temper, fear, or sadness had been known to bring wintry hell down upon the mountain… Unable to meet the other’s eyes, Elsa took a small step back.
"Well, what if it was? If I did do it, but it was an accident?"
Bare toes curled in the frosty autumn grass; fallen leaves crackled faintly with the movement. Elsa drew in on herself, watching the other girl with a more wary expression. She had avoided the human population of her mountain for a reason. Fear would be her enemy, was what the trolls had said. What would this girl do, if she knew?
Kristin wasn't sure how to answer. There was no way the girl in front of her was causing all those storms- why was she even considering it? It was impossible.
And yet, she was standing there, head tilted a bit and wondering. If she was the one making all those storms...how?
"Well, I'd wanna know how you did it." Kristin answered, crossing her arms. "I've never seen anybody cause a storm before." She couldn't help but giggle a bit, even though she was only half joking.
Elsa jerked back, startled by the blonde’s outburst. After a few years of the mountain’s muffled hush, loud noises tended to leave Elsa with a sense of danger. Once over that, she had time to process the statement that’d been expelled so loudly.
Talked about? Not real? What on earth was this girl on about?
"Ummm, yes, I’m real? I’m not sure why I wouldn’t be…" Elsa was certainly confused, but her curiosity, ever bubbling beneath the surface, refused to be quenched.
"What do the ice harvesters say about me?"
The little ice harvester wondered if she should really answer. If this girl was as dangerous as they said she was, shouldn’t Kristin be running? But the girl was just that, a girl; like herself. She couldn’t really be that dangerous, right?
"They say you’re dangerous." Kristin told her, "that you cause all those weird storms." She shrugged, shaking her head a little.
"I don’t believe it, though." She admitted, then raised her eyebrow. "I mean, it’s not true…right?"

"Look, I'm really sorry Sven tried to eat your shoe..."
"He's still kinda learning that not everything is food."
Elsa whipped back behind the tree she’d been using for cover. The other girl had seen her; now what? Since running away from the castle, Elsa hadn’t had contact with anyone, and she’d hoped to keep it that way. Still, no help for it now…
Cautiously, her head peeked back around the tree trunk. Pale hands still gripped the bark.
"I live here, so yes, I suppose I am…"
"You live here?" Kristin stared at the other girl for a bit, confusion written all over her face. The girl behind the tree couldn’t have been much older than she was, so why was she out here by herself? Then it hit her.
"You’re the girl!" She yelled out, "the one the other ice harvesters talk about!" Kristin had been pretty scared herself the first time she’d heard the story of the terrible child that lived on the mountain, but she’d been assured that it was just that- a story.
"I thought you weren’t real."
