Chocolate Icecream Recipe!
NOTE: this is dairy free! I personally HATE bananas but the banana flavour was almost hidden and it was just chocolate flavour. IF YOU WANT MORE BANANA FLAVOUR, USE 2 TBSPS COCOA POWDER INSTEAD.
This recipe makes ONE SERVING which contains more or less 200 calories, depending on your honey/sweetener and cocoa brands. It’s not particularly low-calorie, but it’s healthier than store bought icecream and makes a good treat!
I loved this recipe, because I found I could enjoy this in the summer as my weekly reward. It’s has much less fat and sugar than store bought icecream, and it’s dairy free!
Ingredients:
2 bananas (110 calories)
4 tbsp cocoa powder (calories vary from brand to brand)
Pinch of cinnamon
1 tsp honey (optional, 20 calories) OR sweetener of choice (optional)
Method:
Chop your bananas, then freeze them. Don’t leave them in for too long, or they’ll become too hard.
Put them in a food processor (blender) until it’s a smooth consistency. You can add your honey now, or add your sweetener.
Add in a pinch of cinnamon and your cocoa powder, then blend further until evenly mixed.
Spoon into a container and either eat immediately as soft serve OR freeze for 2 hours+ as icecream.
