She was new and green and that was probably why she acting so strange. “Well, anyway, I should probably get back to class. The name is Santiago by the way. If you ever need anything around campus, just holler.”

Leona was still staring up at Santiago wide-eyed, like a deer in headlights. She wondered if he would’ve been acting different if he knew who she was. Leona merely shook her head, not breaking eye contact. When he said his name, her breath hitched in her throat. She knew she wouldn’t be taking advantage of that favor. Ever. God, if any of the lions even walked by right now who knows how that conversation would go. She swallowed, still staring up at him.

“Hey.” he greeted her again and her wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing a soft kiss against her temple. She always smelled so nice. “I missed you. Promise that is my last impromptu trip but my dad really wanted to get the cabin set up at the lake in case we all want to go this summer.” Nick pulled away and smiled. “It feels like it’s been forever.” He moved to take her hand and kissed her knuckles. “I was wondering … like what are your thoughts on labels? Because I don’t know if you like them or hate them but I like spending time with you and this is nice.” He squeezed her hand. “So why not make it official? My dad wanted you to come over for dinner and I keep calling you my girlfriend to him so what do you say? Would you be my girlfriend, Lee?”

Leona was so relieved to have Nick back. To be here in his arms. Sure they kept in touch when he was away, but she liked it much better when they were together. She rested her arms on his shoulders for a moment before letting her arms fall back to her sides. “Nick, you can take impromptu trips whenever you want, I get it.” Leona reached for his hands. Smiling a bit as he kissed her knuckles. Her smile continued to grow as he began to talk about labels and she bit her lip to keep from bursting. She waited a long second before answering, just to see if her pausing would freak him out. But she couldn’t hold it in any longer, “Yes.” She was beaming and she leaned in to kiss him on the lips. “A million times yes.” A small excited laugh fell from her lips. “So, dinner with your dad huh?”

Harmony: I know this is going to sound terrible but what's your major? They kinda need to realize you had a tough summer. We all did. I'm president of student government. I can have a talk with the counselors.

Harmony: Um. well, I was around Danny a lot so how about I give it a try?

Harmony: You're put on this Earth and you're expected to know all your answers after 18 which is silly considering you were just asking for a hallpass to go to the damn bathroom just a few months ago! Don't let it get to you. Adults seem to forget that they didn't have their shit together at our age either. And if they say they did, they're liars.

"Oh I've totally played this before." Leona was a bit more excited now and she happily pushed up her sleeves, and rubbed her hands together watching as he shuffled the cards. "Yes let's play." Leona swallowed hard as he mentioned Daniel. A fake smile on her lips, ‘had’. Leona kept the thought in her head. ‘Had Daniel for.’

     Deciding to give New York a chance, Maribel took a walk. She wanted to explore the area surrounding the campus. To go further into the city, Bel wanted a tour guide - someone who knew more about the city than she ever would. Wandering around, the woman was hit with a pounding headache and it was then that she realized in her excitement she’d forgotten to grab a coffee. As if the universe had felt her pain, she noticed a coffee shop on the left. Veering off from her current path, Maribel entered the cafe. Getting into line, she silently debated on what to get. Thankfully there was a blonde in front of her ordering, so she had time. When it was the female’s turn, she walked up to the counter and ordered a cappuccino, pulling her wallet out. “How much?” The barista stopped her, “That girl in front of you already paid for yours.” Brows furrowing together, Bel turned to glance at the woman who had been in front of her. “Oh okay.” She shoved her wallet back in her pocket, turning back to the barista. When her coffee was finally ready, she grabbed it and made her way over to the blonde’s table. “Hey, sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to say thank you for the coffee.”

Leona had returned to her solitude and finally pulled her notebook from her backpack. She had to finish up three more scenes on her storyboard for her project that was due in the morning. After finally finding the page Leona was about to add some scene directions when she saw the girl approach her table. Lee looked up with a smile. "Oh, you're welcome." she shrugged it off not recognizing the girl, then again it was New York City, just about everyone around was a stranger. "I'm Leona." She happily extended her hand, after all the girl looked nice, and Leona liked making friends.
