watching my promised afternoon thunderstorm slip from a 90% chance to a 20% chance.... baby come back i can change
dreaming of an arthurian movie where itâs like. at least four hours long following the events of the entire vulgate cycle in excruciating detail. everything is done with hyper attention to the source material and is super accurate and but inexplicably all the fight scenes are set to abba. this is never acknowledged by anyone but lancelot kind of seems to be aware of it
EXACTLY
thinking hard about this. i am vaguely recalling a part in the vulgate cycle where lancelot temporarily goes crazy and canât stop dancing. does anyone know what im talking about. did i make this up
HE IS LITERALLY THE DANCING QUEEN
my reasoning for all of this btw is that all of abba sounds to me like the soundtrack to a near-death induced hallucinatory experience. much like arthurian literature feels
angel eyes playing as lancelot goes on one of his yearly bouts of insanity raving through the woods like some kind of animal
same animal btw
hamlet is kind of like if there were a murder mystery but in the process of solving it the detective just starts killing people
no matter how little you think you know about history you shouldnât beat yourself up over it because there is always someone who knows less than you and is more confident about it. someone once said that bridgerton was medieval to me
another person also thought that the middle ages were the period in between wwi and wwii so you should always be proud of yourself for having any sort of knowledge about the medieval period. iâm proud of you for not thinking fdr was an important medieval figure.

Love it when the horrible bastard character who has decided they're at peace with being unloved and irredeemable is met with an earnest character who open-heartedly offers them love and affection anyway. And they Go Crazy About It
I hate to say "some of you don't go outside," but fucking Christ, dude
Ouuhh I see the water itâs right there on the post,, Iâm so thirsty ouyghhhhhw just one sip for me ooouuuuuu
Girl, what are you talking about? Are you feeling alright?
Btw the heat *is* why we see water that's not really there, but mirages aren't exactly hallucinations so much as optical illusions:
It's just the changing density of the air refracting light weirdly, so it looks like there's a reflection of the sky on the ground, which our brains often interpret as a pool of water. It can also happen upwards instead of downwards, especially at sea, when the air is much colder near the surface and a warm front appears above it:
Which, btw, is one possible explanation for ghost ship sightings, so that's fun :)
Yeap. That's how the Effetto Fata Morgana gappens
If you drive on a straight road in the summer you can see mirages pretty easily.
Here's Fata Morgana
love it when a character wants something she cant have. keep trying to grasp the unobtainable girl it will surely be within reach next time
Years ago back when I worked in cubicle land, we were hiring junior software developers. They didnât have to have a ton of experience, just a willingness to learn, and some demonstration of their software skills. Like: show me a program you wrote (any language) or a web site you designed. Anything.
And there was this one guy I talked with who seemed super sharp, but had virtually zero experience writing software. When it came time to do the show-n-tell part of the interview he whips out his laptop, brings up a website, and spins it around to show me what he made.
A website of tiny ceramic frogs.
Not for sale. Just⌠all these ceramic frogs, organized into categories. Frogs on bicycles, frogs with hats, frogs sitting on lily pads. It was a virtual museum of ceramic frogs in web form.
I scrolled through his online collection of frogs, slightly baffled.
âThis is your website?â I asked finally.
âYep!â
âYou coded this yourself?â I popped into view-source mode and poked around some incredibly well-formatted, well-commented html. I nodded slowly. This guy was meticulous.
âYep!â
âSo⌠whereâd all the frogs come from?â
âI made those too,â he says, beaming.Â
And while Iâm processing this he rummages in his bag and pulls out a little ceramic frog working at a computer terminal. He places it on the table before us, next to the laptop.
âAnd THIS one,â he says, âI made for you! As a thank you for the interview.â
It was adorable. I hired him on the spot. I mean, why not? Worst case heâd wash out in 90 days and weâd hire somebody else. He turned out to be one of the best developers on our team.Â
And yes, his cubicle was loaded with ceramic frogs.
i can't imagine a world in which i haven't put this video on my page
"it's time to surface, (unintelligible, possibly "back to people), the vacation is over. oh blyat, a grenade. what sort of moron keeps the...-boom-"
Can't help but appreciate how well the body language translates through VR.
The frantic head turning while looking for a place to stash the grenade, the double take as they realize the drawer they chose was FULL of grenades, and the "WTF" hand gesture as they point in disbelief at the drawer full of grenades? Chef's kiss.
POV youâre Wile E Coyote

I think one of the kindest things you can do for people with various mental health struggles is just... let people back into your life after they've been absent for a while.
Making friends as an adult is so fucking hard already and isolating yourself from other people is a very common symptom of depression, anxiety, burnout, ocd, trauma, grief, etc. Which means that someone will do the hard work of recovery/healing and resurface back into a world where their previous friends have written them off because they stopped showing up.
So if you know someone where you're like "yeah we could have been better friends but they fell off the map a bit" and that person suddenly reaches out, or starts showing up to events even though you kind of forgot they were still in the group chat... well they may have been Going Through It and you don't actually have to punish them for their absence you can just be glad that they're back.
Needed to hear this today.
