I think people really underestimate what this means to Edna, though. She designed /all/ those costumes, and is painfully aware that those heroes died because of it. When she says āI never look back, darlingā, she means it: if she focuses on the people who her designs killed, it would cripple her ability to move on.

"Thats..Thatās not what I meant, Mum." Ā Hannah stuck her bottom lip out slightly, a habit sheād picked up over the years. "Youāve been great, and I wouldnāt trade that. Youāre the best, and I wasnāt really helping our relationship before either."

Aria laughed. āOh believe me! I didnāt grow up as a time traveler. Itās been over six hundred years and it still throws me sometimes! When am I from? Actually fairly close to this timeā¦mostly. Sometimes I stay on the TARDIS, but I grew up inā¦wellI kinda bounced around a bit. Started in 2020, then bounced back to the forties, now my house is in 2017. Life of a time traveler! Never simple,ā she said with a laugh. āAre you an only child or have you got any siblings? Justā¦out of curiosity.ā
"Six hundred years? Blimey you're old enough to be...Well, nah my gran acts too much like an ancient hag for you to be older than her. Love 'er anyways, but..." Hannah shook her head.Ā
"So if you started in the new 20's, were you born there? Because that would make me older than you...In the scheme of things you know? That's wizard.."
"Yeah single child, parents got divorced shortly after me. Dad decided to just up an' leave, said he loved her to death but needed space." Hannah shrugged. "I see him on holidays, although I wish they'd stayed together and I'd had siblings."

"No, no. Itās okay because I am different. At least thatās how I felt growing up." She dared to laugh slightly, trying to force herself to feel more comfortable.
"Interesting name youāve got there. I mean, itās cool. Not weird interesting like my middle name."
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, Iāve always been a bit different, too," Bronze said with a bit of a shrug, forcing a smile, leaving any detail out of what she said for, well, obvious reasons.Ā
"Cool? Oh, I donāt know about that one, Iāve always been the girl with the red hair and the weird name," she said, laughing, the tiniest bit less forced this time. "Now Iāve got to ask. Whatās your middle name?" After the question popped out of her mouth, Bronze realized she was being unbearably rude. "Well, if you donāt want to answer, you donāt have to. But people with weird names stick together, yāknow?"Ā
"Red hair and weird name, same here. I just learned to keep quiet enough nobody would notice me, pretty sad but it worked." Hannah mumbled.
"It's just a stupid ancient roman name. Meant for a guy I should think, based on research." She'd flushed as red as both their hair. "It's Cacaellius. Kind of stupid, but Mum said she had a dream about livin' in Pompeii once and that was someone's name."

"Okay, sorry." She mumbled going to hug her mother. "Iām really glad I have you, Mum."
"Youāre the best thing life has ever given me and donāt forget that alright?" Donna hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead.

Sorry I haven't been around! Rough stuff has been happening in my family and it's really taken a toll on me. I'll try to be around more, but I don't know how often I will be (even though I'm so eager to come back).

"Hannah" she mumbled, intrigued at the girl standing before her. She seemed so unusual, but she looked soā¦usual. Her mind screamed at her to investigate, but her shy tendencies wanted to scurry away and crawl under bedsheets.Ā
"Um, not tābe rude or anything, but why were you staring at me?" Hannah bit her lip, sniffling slightly in the cold air.Ā
"Not sure, really," Bronze said, trying to tone down her voice a bit and make herself calmer, less intimidating- the girl was obviously shy. She almost winced as she did it; changing her demeanor to suit the situation was something she used to do constantly when orchestrating some trick or scheme for the Daleks. But this time it was actually so not to scare her, right? She was being kind, right?Ā
"You just seemed sort ofā¦ different," she said with a bit of a shrug. "Justā¦ nevermind, it was silly," she said, brushing it off. As Bronze figured it, if there really was something different about the girl, sheād being worried or curious and ask what Bronze was about to say. And if not, then ānevermindā was the perfect response, anyway.Ā

Hannahās ears rung as her motherās memories swirled around, muddling with her own. Meeting the Doctor again, kind of. Was he the same sort of man? Needing to be saved from himself when times got too tough? Was he more responsible?
Aria nodded. āIād imagine so. I meanā¦youāre the one with the memories technically, and weāre meeting and talking about him and everything so Iād think that should be totally fine! Iāll tell him next time I see him, maybe get him to stop by yeah? Sorry I probably should have asked. What year is this exactly?ā

The autumn air nipped at her nose, turning it a shade similar to her hair. Her knitted scarf pulled tight around her, lending little warmth. Fall and winter were never her favorite seasons. She held her jacket tight around her, as she hurried down the sidewalks.Ā
Hannah stopped short at the sight of somebody staring directly at her. Her mum always said it was because of her hairās tint, but Hannah couldnāt come to believe her.Ā
"Hello." She said slowly, walking up the the stranger.
Bronzeās visit to Earth had, so far, been quiet and uneventful- one might even describe it as boring. But quiet, uneventful, and boring were good things for Bronze; they meant no one trying to kill her and herself not being ordered to kill anybody. They meant no Daleks and nobody getting hurt. As she hurried along the sidewalk, not looking for anyplace in particular, she suddenly noticed another girl as she hurried by.Ā
Someone who looked completely normal (well, except, maybe for the fiery red hair, but Bronzeās hair was the same, anyways), but something about her just read to Bronze asā¦ different. Being somewhat different herself, sheād gotten pretty good at picking out others who werenāt quite the same.Ā
She abruptly realized sheād been staring when the girl noticed her, and greeted her while approaching slowly. Sloppy! Staring at someone is the best way to get noticed. Youāre an idiot. āHey,ā she greeted in return, putting on her best ānormalā face. āNameās Bronze.āĀ
