Gonna take some time for me to map out the whole story, but the first couple chapters shouldn't take too long. Also I though about making a minicomic following Ultra Magnus and Optimus as little sparklings.
Anyways, here's Hotrod doodles and a bit of lore:
Hotrod is not only an incredible racer with many fans (one of which happens to be his future coleague, Arcee) but also Ultra Magnus' junior in a special unit of Iacon enforcers known as the Wreckers.
Their leader is an older mech named Cyclonus, who has been alive for as long as the Quintessons war has been going on, which has caused him to develop a pessimistic outlook on the world and its future.
His second in command is Ultra Magnus, whom Hotrod wiews as a pushover and bit of a stickler to protocol, but his experience and dedication make him a reliable enforcer and friend, though it takes a lot of effort to make Magnus crawl out of his shell.
The last member of the team is Bulkhead, whom Hotrod oftentimes tries to drag along into trouble, but finds it difficult to do so, not only because of the mechs size, but also because he is responsible and does not wish to endager anyone unless strictly necessary.
Hotrod greatly looks up to the Optimus, often bringing him up in conversations with Magnus, who tries his best not to let on that he knows the new Prime very well.
Also he has a rivalry with Darkwing in the racing community, where both them and their fans absolutely despise eachother.
