Rattie Rat Rats!

I currently have seven female rats. Their names are Aramis, Meredith, Remy, Zammis, Frenchy, Marilyn, and Valentina.

I would like to introduce the newest addition the the rat pack, Valentina. She is such a beauty. I fell in love at first sight. Here's the best part though. I had a male rat named Silas who passed away back in May. I fell in love with him at first sight when he was a baby and he lived to be over 2 years old (normal rat lifespan.) He was my very handsome black blazed mama's boy. Silas is Valentina's uncle! She is from the same bloodline and shares his qualities as well. I almost cried when I heard she was his niece. Anyways, this is her, welcome to the family baby girl! 😍❤🐀

I plan to take my old man, Guster to Autumn Glory with me, as he's passed his lifespan and is currently a lone rat. I don't want him alone that whole day and he deserves all of the spoiling I can give him. So I hand stitched him a bonding pouch. Everything was hand done minus the strap of course. I've never actually made something like this, but I'm pretty proud. Guster seems to enjoy it as well. We can't wait for Autumn Glory.

“elitist pet owners” aren’t a thing- we just put actual research into the care of our animals, and take care of them the way we’re supposed to. if you’re not willing to research your animal and put effort into meeting it’s needs, you should not have a pet.

The newest addition to the rat pack. I’d like to introduce Marilyn. She is a very mellow and loving little girl. Mom fell in love with her yesterday when she went to the petstore but wasn’t sure if I’d want another baby in the pack. It was quite shocking for me to hear my mom say she almost came home with a rat. We went to the petstore together today and picked her up. Mom was the one to name her as well aha. It’s great to see my mother open up to the rat pack. When I first wanted a rat and got my first rattie, she was so hesitant and disgusted. She’s seen how they truly are and absolutely adores them. Although Marilyn is with my girls and in my pack, we have agreed that she is mom’s rat. Lol.

Tl;dr abused and neglected rats are now safe in good homes.

Yesterday I was sent to rescue two fawn hooded females who were abused and neglected by their owner. The owner posted on Facebook that if they were not picked up, they would be killed. I arrived to the home with a friend of mine and found that these rats we’re living in an extremely small cage, with no access to food or clean water. The cage was filthy, and appeared as though it had not been cleaned in a few weeks. They were also using pine shavings which could be dangerous to a rats health. The water bottle had mold in every inch of it and had no water at the time. There was only one rat in the cage, and when asked about the where abouts of the second rat, we were told she was hiding in the couch and had been there for a week and a half. We were able to retrieve the missing rat after 30-45min of searching the couch. It was found that both rats are extremely underweight and very scared of humans. They flinch if you try to touch or feed them which is clear signs of abuse. The rats are now safe, have access to fresh food and clean water, and are going to the vet today to be examined for further health or physical problems. I will keep everyone updated on their conditions, but for now I would like to introduce Frenchy and Banana.

Can you say spoiled?! The rats got some new stuff today. Bigger and better water bottles, a ball hanging in the cage with some cotton to sleep in, hand made fleece hammocks, and home made hanging chewtoys. I love my ratties (:
