So my loves I am back from my slumber and have come to talk about Mabon. It celebrates the Autumn Equinox and is when the Goddess travels to the Underworld to join God who has become lord of death and rebirth. If you are a follower of Greek gods its when Persephone returns to Hades in the Underworld, and Demeter misses her daughter for six months, forcing the weather to change.
So since I seriously am low key lazy these tips are going to be minimal, simple and can be altered to suit you!
Make or eat some autumnal food to celebrate, such as carrot soup, apple pie, mushrooms, pumpkins or butternut squash. Today for dinner I simply boiled a sweet potato and pak choi with some country vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots) and that was my contribution!
Make some tea and sit outside and reflect on things you wish to release from your life, and how you are going to develop further in your life. Mabey you want to try something new, practice something that interests you. Invest in yourself, your time is now.
Go for a walk outside, acknowledge the change that is always happening, the wind now has a colder embrace, the leaves once vibrant are now changing, freeing themselves from the tree and now dancing in the wind. The sun is falling sooner, but gives off a honey glow, filling you with warmth.
Now is the time to reap what you have sown. And now you may rest, the hard work now has paid off and will soon show. Enjoy this peaceful time as you have earned it.
Honour the Goddess, as she makes her journey to join the God. As she is taking this journey to be with her beloved, think of what journey you are about to take, and how you will love the experience as you set yourself a goal to achieve.
