for those of you who done know i have DID! please take my DNI seriously, sometimes our kid alters come on here and i dont want them traumatized. i (Bree) am a regressor which is why i have this blog but we let the kids come on every now and then. I've seen a lot of smols pretty anxious lately and I just wanted to take a moment today to have you focus on your breathing.
It's important when doing these exercises to do deep belly breaths. When you breathe in you want your tummy to go as far out as possible, try not to lift your shoulders too much.
Now my therapist recommends the square breathing method but you can do whatever is most comfy for you!
Now the square method goes like this:
Breathe in for four counts, hold your breath for four counts, breathe out for four counts, hold your breath for four counts and repeat.
Let's try together, okee? Nice and slow and easy.
In, 2, 3, 4.
Hold, 2, 3, 4.
Out, 2, 3, 4.
Hold, 2, 3, 4.
and from the top again! Keep going until you feel a bit more relaxed and grounded.
You did great!!! I'm so proud of you♡ keep this exercise in your back pocket for the next time you feel nervous!
