SO I JUST FINISHED KINGS CAGE AND LET ME TELL YOU THAT ….  I AM COMPLETELY BROKEN. 

okay I’ve been Marecal trash since they dropped the mix tape

and i did get some spoilers about the epilogue, but i never thought it was going to be this painful, but in reality i feel that it was a great way to continue the series. It hurts to see Mare this heart broken, but it was kind of dumb for her to N O T choose Cal when he has chosen her all this time am i right? and not just that but the fact that for them to be king and queen would be the best way to defeat Maven, AND ALSO FOR THEM TO BE THE CHANGE THEY WANT TO SEE IN NORA. TWO IS BETTER THAN ONE.  

IT MAKES ME MAD that in a way she kinda underestimates cal. and doesn’t trust that he will change anything at all but then again, he is not the same guy we got to meet in the first book either. He H A S changed for H E R and has seen what they are all fighting for so cal “ YOU ARE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE” 

AFTER ALL it is his rightful place and what he was born to do, he didn’t betray anyone because even if he gets to be king, he will work together with the scarlet guard to make a change. 

overall, it is sad to see them drift apart this way but i guess it gives Mare a chance to grow out of what she’s been through. after all, True love never dies right? 

I AM HOPING THAT THEY MAKE UP IN THE NEXT BOOK and realize that this isn’t about Reds being free but also everyone. 

and that together they can achieve so much more then being in separate ways.
