That’s very sweet.
siriusbx:
Sirius wasn’t really one for having his head in clouds, despite what people have thought. Though, he definitely did at the moment, he still didn’t really know how he was supposed to act after the attacks. Marlene seemed to be avoiding him, but he didn’t have the guts to go and check on her, James and Lily were probably busy and he couldn’t find Remus or Peter anywhere. Truth be told, he was feeling ever so slightly sorry for himself. Maybe he ought to visit Andy and Ted, Nymphadora was getting so big, and he did love spending time with her. He was just trying to remember if today was a day Ted and Andy were both working or not, when he collided with someone. “Oh shit, I’m sorry.” He blurted out before looking to see who it was. Realising that it was Charlie, he managed a half smile. “Sorry Charlie, you alright?”
Absolute relief flooded through every cell in the tiny woman’s body, and she all but sagged with it as she realized exactly who it was she’d run into. Sirius was not only a friend, but one she trusted and was more than a little certain would make sure she made it home safe. Straightening her hair and her clothes, Charlie gave a nervous little laugh and nodded her head sheepishly. “Goodness, yes. I’m fine. Honestly, I have never been more relieved to see anyone in my entire life. Walk me home? There’s some pumpkin tarts in it for you.”
Leaving the bakery so late always made the tiny Muggleborn nervous, the streets of Diagon Alley dark and quiet and leaving her feeling exposed. With the echo of her shoes on the cobblestones bouncing back off the building she couldn’t be sure if someone was following her and trying to match her steps or not and every so soften she’d stop to listen, or try to take a double step just to trip up anyone who was following. Had she not wanted to keep attention off herself, she’d have broken into a run, for her apartment was only a dozen blocks from the bakery itself. Turning the corner that put her on a straight shot, she found herself colliding hard into someone’s chest, carried with the momentum of her hurried step. “Oh goodness!”

“It’s fine.” He said simply. “Like I said, I can manage on my own.” There wasn’t any need for his wand, or to bend down for that matter, he simply moved his hand over the mess, and the bags began to repack themselves. After a moment or so, they were back in his hand. He shook his head, sighing somewhat. “Just some prick bumped into me. But it’s fine.”
Mouth opening to speak, no words came out, but her face did flush with colour as she realized how obviously she’d given away her blood status right there. She still tended to do a lot of things the muggle way, and the thought of using magic hadn’t even occurred to her. “Wandless... That’s very impressive.” Doing her best to cover her embarrassment, Charlie cleared her throat and held out a hand. “Charlie. Despite my silliness, I swear it was well intentioned.”

Evan sighed, and shook his head. Sometimes he could be alittle too brash with people. He didn’t really mean to be, he’d just always taken care of his own problems. “Look, I’m sorry alright.” He said through gritted teeth. “I just…. i can manage. I didn’t mean to snap.”
Tension leaving a tiny body that had stiffened at his outburst, Charlie uncurled a little from herself when it seemed that his anger had calmed somewhat. “I didn’t mean to bother you, really. I just-... I was just trying to be kind.” Looking at what she assumed were his groceries laying all over the place, she shook her head and offered him a small, genuine albeit nervous, smile. “It is quite a mess, are you sure I can’t help you pick it all up?”
yxleyy:
Suffice it to say, it wasn’t the first time Corban had been slapped, not by any stretch of the imagination. And he probably deserved it. Definitely deserved it. “Not my fault if you can’t handle the truth, sweetheart.” He said in a near whisper, just about managing to smile.
“I have never hit anyone in my life, but that was entirely disrespectful.” Eyes narrowed at him, the anger slipped away at the colour to his skin where her hand had made contact. “I’m sorry... I shouldn’t have done that, I just-... I didn’t deserve that. Are you okay?”

Marlene loved what she was doing for work. There was never really a moment that she regretted choosing Auror training over a Quidditch career. It was hard work though, taxing both mentally and physically, and after a long week she was glad when it reached Friday afternoon. Not quite ready to head home, she went to the Three Broomsticks instead. The Leaky Cauldron would have been closer, but really what was distance when one could just apparate?
Slipping inside, she took a seat at the bar to wait to be served.
Fingers wrapped a mug of warm caramel coffee, Charlie had been sat there for a long time, sipping away her day off as she enjoyed the comforting sounds of people enjoying the atmosphere. The Three Broomsticks had been her favourite place in the world for as long as she could remember, for even if she was just as invisible there as anywhere else, at least the atmosphere didn’t make her feel that way.
Looking over as someone lowered down beside her, Charlie offered her a little smile before glancing down at her drink. “It’s pretty busy in here, today.”

Lily turned and glanced over her shoulder at the sound of a voice. It was getting late and she really needed to be getting home. She wasn’t the type to be intimidated or scared necessarily, but she didn’t want to be out wandering alone at night either if it could be avoided. Yet, she needed to make a stop before going home in Diagon Alley and it couldn’t be avoided.
“It’s kind of looking like a ghost town out here, wouldn’t you say?” She asked to the person walking behind her since she already knew they were there.

Turning the lock in the door of the bakery, Charlie took a deep breath to prepare herself for the dark walk home, hand slid into the pocket of her robes to wrap around her wand, though she was more likely to run or cower than actually cast any sort of spell in her own defence. It was only after a moment or two that she even realized she was behind someone and then a sign of relief when the voice was a familiar one.
“Lily... Oh my goodness, I got to admit, I don’t like it out here right now. I hate when we close so late.”
@hogwartsflower
evxnrxier:
“Yeah, as it goes I don’t actually need your help. So why don’t you just back off.”
“Oh... Oh yeah, of course. I’m so sorry. I was just-... I was just trying to be helpful... I’ll just-... I’ll just go. ”
elsarosier:
— elsa nodded, “ sometimes i wish that’s the only way some people knew me from, ” the blonde mused. she’d kept mostly to her parties and studies, and was mostly known just for that, partying and her face. but she’d had enough instances of petty revenge, although, there had never been a real punishment, considering it was never really proven that it had been elsa. the exception, of course, being that ravenclaw who she’d had detention for a month after she’d given the boy antlers and a tail. no one had believed that he’d attacked her first. “ oh, i don’t want to trouble you, ” elsa shook her head.
“No, no it’s not any trouble at all.” Holding out her arms for the books, Charlie offered the pretty blond an encouraging smile. “I would rather help than watch you drop things again. Besides, it’s only polite.” Shaking her head like it was nothing, she waited to take some the burden literally off her hands. “Honestly, it’s no trouble at all.”
betteroff-ted:
“Merlin!” Ted exclaimed, losing his footing as he was forced a few steps back. He started to apologize, but then he noticed the person he’d just quiet literally bumped into was someone familiar. “Charlie? You alright? You look like you’ve seen a ghost…”
“Oh, Ted... Oh my goodness.” Giving the deepest sigh of relief, Charlie dissolved into nervous laughter, a hand falling on his arm as the other moved to rest on her chest. “You nearly gave me a heart attack, I swear. I was just-... well to be honest I was just rushing home because between you and I... I’m rather afraid of the dark, especially outside.”
mulciberii:
his better sense told him to to leave. to just get out of her way and continue on like he had been. she’d already said she was fine. fear and confusion were practically rolling off of her, and as much as he wouldn’t admit it malachi found some comfort in that. “you’d think your bosses would be a bit more sympathetic. you know…with everything going on.” with where he’d moved there was more than enough space for her to push past him. but if charlie was anything like he’d remembered her to be something told him she wouldn’t be that bold. “somethings never change.” he replied with an air of amusement taking time to look her over once again, but this time more obviously. “charlie..” the way her name left his tongue you’d have thought it was something illicit, his tone both agreeable and cautionary. “i’m not making you uncomfortable am i?”
“Yes, well... my bosses have their own things to worry about and I don’t mind.” In reality she needed all the hours she could get, even if meant going home at a late hour and risk running into people like him. Swallowing hard enough that it almost hurt, Charlie’s eyes remained firmly locked on him, ready to cower back at the first sudden movement. Something about the way her name rolled off his lips had dark scarlet filling her cheeks and swallowing her ears as it seeped down the back of her neck, though she wasn’t entirely sure why. Why did he think she would change? She doubted that he truly had, memories of the torment of their time in school together flashing before her eyes. “It’s the dark... the dark makes me nervous.” Not entirely true, but also not entirely a lie, her eyes flicked to the direction of her home as she shrunk back a little from him. Mouth opening to speak, she wasn’t even sure what she’d planned on saying. Maybe a plea to let her pass? In the end, what she said surprised even her. Kill’em with kindness she supposed? “Would you like a muffin?” Without risking her attention moving from him she lifted the little basket in her hand to draw his attention to it.
e-rxsier:
Evan had been entirely immersed in his work for the last several hours, so it was only natural that he treat himself after hours. He had made his way to the Leaky Cauldron, ordering a whiskey, neat. After two of them, the edge from the day had begun to wear off and he turned to the person next to him. “Do you ever wonder what it is that drags everyone here every day?”
Hauling her basket of fresh bread up onto the counter for Tom behind it. Charlie gave him a smile as she accepted the payment and had just finished catching up with him when a voice at her side caught her attention. Brows rising when a glance around her forced her to realize that the former Slytherin was speaking to her, she shook her head with a shrug. “I wish I knew, but I don’t drink myself, so I couldn’t tell you. I just deliver the bread.”
siriusbx:
He laughed softly, and nodded. “Well that can be easily arranged. It has been said that my hugs are the sort of hugs to be envied.” He couldn’t help himself, he had to smirk cheekily. To be asked for a hug was new to Sirius, usually he tended to just throw himself around people without warning. But he found it quite endearing. Putting down the coffee that was in his hand, and almost empty, he got to his full height, and stretched his arms out. “Come on then, bring it in Charlie. Don’t leave me hanging.”
Face a mask of bright red, she timidly made her way over and hesitated only just a moment before wrapping her arms around his waist, as the disparity in their heights meant that he’d have to fold himself over rather far for her to get her arms around his neck. “See, this is nice. Payment enough.”
mulciberii:
the woman was speaking before he actually looked to see who he was holding in his grasp. He most recognized he voice, and the rambling before her face. and was almost preoccupied in trying to force down is initial reaction. poor charlie. would the universe have let her get by unrecognized? malalchi wasn’t sure. but that the same time he wasn’t sure that he wasn’t the one being tested. “well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes?” thing had changed, he’d changed. right? finally he let her go, albeit slowly. taking a step back that he was telling himself was to get a better look at her. not because he suddenly couldn’t breathe. “and no love, you didn’t hurt me. but it is rather late for you be to out…alone.”
Heart hammering the inside of her chest with enough force to make it almost hard to breathe, Charlie felt herself staring up at the face of the one Slytherin who had kept her in a semi-constant state of anxiety through most of her school years. Sore eyes? Her? From him? A hint of her fear slipping away in exchange for confusion, especially as he referred to her as ‘Love’. Sure, he’d done it many a time before, but it’d been in a more condescending and sarcastic way, and the charm to his smile directed at her had her wondering just what sort of trap he was setting for her. “Yes, well... The bakery closed late and I was just-... just heading home, hence the rushing and the colliding and the apologizing.” Giving a chuckle that was both nervous and awkward, she did her best to start inching around him so he would no longer be between her and her direction of travel, but it was slow going as she didn’t want to be too obvious. Why of all the people did she need to run into him. “Thank you for catching me, that was very nice of you. How about a cupcake as a thank you before I continue home. It’s only a few blocks away...” Motioning to the covered basket she carried in her hands, she hoped that at least plying him with a sweet would give her time to make her leave.
