I just got a new deck š and I need and want to practice more. I shared this on IG first, but if this actually reaches anyone Iām willing to do more readings. The tarot has become a favorite tool of conversing with the source. I find I use it almost as much as I write with my guide(s). I just need to practice allowing my empathy and intuition to flow while reading cards. š®š§āāļøš§š¾āāļø
This is Me
It is incredibly freeing and validating when you fully love and center yourself. Getting to know myself has been the most painful, enlightening, and intense journey Iāve ever undertaken and I would do it 1000 times over 1000 lives. I refuse to hide my self anymore. Youāre going to get this truth.Ā
Dying 1000 Slow Deaths
I donāt even know where to start. The story of my life is getting so old. I slick wanna close the book but that wouldnāt be fair to them. I cannot get right. I have to though so I guess I can. I must. It just seems as though thereās so much missing. I canāt figure out how to attain what I need. Like wtf am I missing?
I have been losing since 1013. Grandma. Career. Sanity. Relationship. Job. When is it going to be my turn to win? Is this a test? I usually do good on those but this one is throwing me for a loop. Itās like that exam Quentin and my girl Julia had to take to get into Brakebills. And just like Julia I failed. Julia has a drive I havenāt matched yet too. She refused to live without magic the way Iām refusing to live without love...my love. She lost a lot too chasing magic. In the end it was all worth it. The hardest journeys often end with the most awesome reward.
I only hope that I can find my path and find my way before itās too late.
This is the beginning.
I have been dead for the past 5 years. A chain of events beyond my wildest imaginings played out in the most unimaginable ways. Itāll take a while to hash it all out, in fact Iām just beginning to understand what happened. I guess I should preface this by saying Iām Black first and foremost, which means that my perspective is through the lens of a Black woman, with all that comes with that. Thatās a whole other bag. I choose to live in and love in my Blackness. I have been pegged All Black Everything, Blackity Blackity Black Black Black. No apologies. No fucks given and AAVE is my standard.Ā
Itās not just my Blackness that I love about me, I have chosen to love all of me. That includes what I have recognized asĀ āHigh Sensitivityā as I identify as a Highly Sensitive Person, specifically Empathic, more specifically, an Emotional Healer. The gag is Iām broken. I am as broken as they come. In this moment I am seeking healing. It seems as though the path put before me is one of self healing. This is my journey through my journal.Ā
Iāve always felt like I was different. I couldnāt explain to you why. It just always seemed like I was always the odd person out. I felt as though I never quite fit in, I had friends but I was more of a fringe friend. I usually only had 1 real friend at a time and the current role of bestie has been occupied by the same beautiful spirit for the last 20 years. Sheās the one person who has been consistent. Even if we donāt speak for several weeks or months, because of my unfettered anxiety, it is always the same when we do. I often retreat into myself when I feel overwhelmed, and I always feel overwhelmed especially in the last 5 years...
Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers
The suicide rate among black children has nearly doubled since the early 1990s, while the rate for white children has declined, a new study has found, an unusual pattern that seemed to suggest something troubling was happening among some of the nationās most vulnerable citizens.
The way the children were dying seemed to provide some clues to the trend. Dr. Christine Moutier, chief medical officer for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, who read the study, pointed out that gun deaths among white boys had gone down by about half while staying about the same for black boys, signaling that gun safety education may not be reaching black communities as effectively as white ones.
Suicides by hanging, on the other hand, roughly tripled among black boys, while remaining virtually unchanged for whites.
She said the traditionally lower rates for blacks had often been attributed to strong social networks and family support, religious faith and other cultural factors. āThat makes me wonder whether there is something in those protective factors that may have shifted in the wrong direction over those two decades,ā she said.
Black boys and girls, your lives matter, your feelings are valid, you are worth loving, and donāt let anyone make you feel different, even yourselves. This makes me unspeakably sad, but Iām not surprised.
