HP and the Deathly Hallows Chapter 33
A friend told me a few days ago that Snape was much better than James and that Lily should have stayed with him. I had no choice but to give a TED Talk explaining why that was light years away from being true. This part of the last book is a good example of this. Remember, this is supposedly the book that improves Snape's image and shows who he really was. However, we see how he proceeds to erase Lily's history. The letter she wrote to one of her best friends expressing her affection and the photo where she's happy with her family—he tore them up to keep a part of her that never belonged to her. He didn't see her as she was, but as he wanted to see her; he saw her as an object that belonged to him. That's why we should doubt his version of the story, because it's under his influence. Furthermore, his behavior at school with the Marauders is no excuse, because even if the bullying were true (which I doubt; I always saw it as a fight between gangs against the future Death Eaters), that doesn't give him any right over Lily or her decisions. James changed and became the person she loved and wanted in her life. Snape saying he loves her doesn't give him the right to demand she love him back, nor to erase parts of her history to suit his needs (as he did with the letter and the photo). Snape cut James out of that photo, just as he didn't think of himself or his son when he begged for Lily's life, demonstrating how inconsiderate he was by not considering how the deaths of her husband and son might affect her. He never cared about her; he didn't love her, he was only obsessed with the idea of her. That's what Dumbledore used to his advantage, like another pawn in his war. He was also a terrible teacher, mistreating all the children, especially Neville (Snape was just as responsible for his parents' situación as he was for Harry's, and he knew it but never cared), which shows what kind of person he really was, and it's as if Neville, even if he had been the Chosen One, wouldn't have switched sides. He also mistreated Hermione despite her suffering as a Muggle-born like Lily, he held a grudge against a boy for resembling his father, and he got Lupin fired from his only stable job. He always held grudges, he never matured. He didn't die for Harry; he never saw him except as a shadow of James and Lily, but he never truly saw Lily either. She was just an example of his obsession, an idea that she was the only one he could ever love. In contrast, James gave his life for his family, fought in a war he didn't need to participate in on the side that had everything to lose, didn't hesitate to risk his life to learn about Snape, and when he loved people he did it with all his soul as could be seen by how he treated others.

There’s like sergeants, a watch commander and fbi agents and we ask Nolan ?? Of course
What’s always annoyed me with this series is their incessant need to put Nolan or Bailey as the «most important player», god forbid anyone can get anything done without them
There’s like sergeants, a watch commander and fbi agents and we ask Nolan ?? Of course
The rookie "The network"
Bailey Nune is not well liked because no one watching the show thinks "they are not using Jenna Dewan to her full potential."
She's an ok actress. She had some moments in the show. I didn't mind seeing her on my screen at first. I even found her backstory to be good! The fact we had a recurring EMT character was not a bad thing either.
But nothing else about her character really proved to me she needed to be a series regular after one episode. Nothing she added to the show screamed "OMG this is what the show lacked so far!". Nolan and her were cute, but so were him and Grace. They had some chemistry, but then again he also had chemistry with Tim's sister.
She is an EMT/firefighter, and that gives her enough reasons to be present and not tied to one set piece like Grace, but why is she ALWAYS there? Is she REALLY crucial to every big storyline the show gets? Does the entirety of american military rest on her shoulders, that she always has to be involved in the action every time? Why bring her to Prague and not just Nolan and Nyla? WHY is Lucy making a remark about Bailey being a "bigger badass" than herself? Why is she the only person Nolan EVER interacts with when not at work?
And I can't help but think the shows first mistake was over exaggerating to themselves the kind of star power Jenna carries. She was more relevant in the mid to late 2010s but no one was really starstruck to see her on their screen in 2021. Definitely not enough to like the fact she pushed out characters they like more out of the picture so she can fit in.

Top 5 percabeth moments
[put “top 5” anything in my ask and i will answer]
The one that's been making me really insane recently is the scene after Annabeth takes the knife for him in TLO. Everything "No one touches her" to Annabeth talking about how he's cute when he worried, to the Achilles spot and tether reveal ... they make me inane.
The other one is the stables scene. Percy thinking about how he kept himself alive thinking about her, telling her about his dreams of them having future in New Rome, her asking to be held ... it's such a good scene.
Greatest underwater kiss of all time. I remember being in 8th grade, laying on my bed, giggling and kicking my feet.
Any moment where Percy comforts her, because I did wake up mad about Wrath of the Triple Goddess again.
Their little slow dance at the end of TTC, and him being so nervous about her joining the hunt.

Lucy gets amnesia after an assault during a manhunt. She doesn't remember anything that's happened in the past five years...including joining the LAPD and meeting Tim. He remembers everything.
Annabeth has one of the most traumatic journeys to CHB and I don't know why we don't talk about it more.
She left home because she was being attacked by monster spiders and her stepmother refused to believe her and refused to let her call her dad who was away on business at the time. Even before this happened she was already feeling alienated and feeling like she wasn't welcomed in her home anymore. She was seven being attacked nightly by monsters and no one believed her. After days of being attacked she ran away because her choices were to stay and possibly die or to leave. That's an insane position for a seven year old to be in.
After that she spent weeks as a homeless kid fending for herself before Luke and Thalia found her. Annabeth assumes and seems very confident that Athena was guiding her during this time but Luke describes her as skin and bones when he found her so Athena clearly wasn't guiding her to food and resources regularly. She's on such high alert when Luke and Thalia find her that she attacks them with a hammer and almost bashes Luke's face in. And she's not inclined to trust them either. It takes convincing to get her to go with them and she's nervous at first that they're just going to take her back home, the place where she believes no one wants her and the place where no one believed her when she was being attacked. Can you imagine the type of nerves and trauma on a seven year old? And even once she was with Luke and Thalia the monster attacks don't stop, but at least she had two other people looking out for her.
After this she spends weeks on the run with Luke and Thalia, all three homeless, and being hunter by monsters, but at least they have each other. And then Grover tracks them down. But things still aren't perfect. After all of that they still get attacked and terrorized by a Cyclops where Annabeth, still only seven years old had to be the one to save everyone else because Thalia, Grover and Luke were already caught. Not only did she have to be the one to save everyone by outmaneuvering the Cyclops to get to Thalia and free her, but she had to do all of this while the Cyclops terrorized her as she was doing it. And again, she's still only seven years old.
They escape the Cyclops but they're not homefree as yet. After all of this she, along with her new family, are chased as they get close to CHB and she has to watch as Thalia gives her life to save them while Luke holds Annabeth back so she can't help. Thalia is probably the first time Annabeth ever witness someone "die". And unlike Percy/Sally she wasn't immediately told she could go on a quest to save Thalia. As far as she knew Thalia was gone for good. It would be another 6 years before saving Thalia is even a possibility.
There's a lot of traumatic getting to CHB and the start of demigod lives stories, but Annabeth's is up there as one of the absolute worse and most traumatic. And she was seven which is younger than most kids who typically come to camp at 12. I think the only people with backstories just as bad or even worse are Leo and Hazel.
