His eyebrows popped up, and a grin slowly split his angular face. He tried to hide it, not wanting to come off as smug or teasing. “That’s my specialty,” he informed her, but he did not turn to leave. “I was supposed to be meeting a friend here, but I ended up getting lost. All turned around - I actually ended up on another wharf.” He waved a hand vaguely. “I’ve been following clues for weeks, and thought I’d catch her this time.”
"Catch... her...?" Livia repeated slowly. She turned over her phone with nervous fingers, tapping at the screen until the buttons pulled up. Just in case she had to call 911. She was picturing this statue of a man throwing a net over some unsuspecting girl. "If that's your explanation, maybe I should have stuck with the cyptic one-liners."
