BODYGUARD: Good evening, sir.
ANTONIO: Evening.
BODYGUARD: Your mother and sister are currently in the living room.
[‘Hm? They’re usually off to sleep by this time.’]
ANTONIO: Thanks.
[‘Honestly, what’s the point of having money if your house has only one staircase? One measly staircase. Ugh. This Spring Break feels endless.’]
JULIANA: I choose the last design.
ASSISTANT: Splendid. Shall I send out the invitations?
JULIANA: Yes. First thing tomorrow morning. Dismissed.
ALICIA: You know, I thought it was unfortunate that Ottavia Caruso didn’t have a son of age for you, but we dodged a bullet. The boy is pursuing culinary arts! Such a waste. Who will take over her nightclubs?
JULIANA (laughs): Well, Pedro’s construction company will be more beneficial to us anyway.
ALICIA: Ah, and he’s such a charming man. Your grandfather couldn’t have picked a better one for you.
ALICIA: Antonio! We were just talking about the wedding. The invitations go out tomorrow.
ANTONIO: Is Frankie receiving one?
JULIANA: Tragically, yes... Sergio, too. Grandfather insists on it.
ALICIA: Utterly embarrassing...
ANTONIO: Okay. I’m going to bed now. Goodnight-
JULIANA: Sit. There is a lot to discuss.
ANTONIO: Such as?
ALICIA: From what you’ve shared, your bond with Diego is as strong as ever.
ANTONIO: Correct.
ALICIA: Well? Elaborate. Have you gained his trust? Have you proved your loyalty?
ANTONIO: I’d say so. We do a lot of collaborative work and confide in one another. I’m his go-to person.
ALICIA: Ah, is he also in that Debate and Discussion Club with you?
ANTONIO: DnD? ...No.
ALICIA: Hm. He must be too busy playing tennis. However, that’s how high society enjoys their leisure. So, that settles it. We’ll invite the Enriquez family. They have to attend since you two are good friends.
JULIANA: Imagine that. Two prestigious lawyers in our network- Three, once Diego starts practicing!
[Alicia and Juliana continue the conversation as Antonio zones out.]
[‘If my parents speak to Mr. and Mrs. Enriquez, they’ll notice inconsistencies and discover the truth. If God is on my side, he’ll make sure that doesn’t happen.’]
JULIANA: -Grandfather said he’s had no luck finding a wife for Antonio. Must be those chipmunk cheeks of his. Nobody can take him seriously yet like that.
ANTONIO: My chipmunk cheeks aren’t that bad...
FERNANDO: Evening.
JULIANA: Pa! We missed you during the Fengs’ botanical luncheon.
ALICIA: Did we?
FERNANDO: Alfonso’s fixating on his stupid bakery again. Means I need to pick up the slack.
JULIANA: Once I take over, I’ll sell it. I’ve brainstormed much more effective ways to launder the money.
FERNANDO: Atta girl.
ANTONIO: I’m on track to maintain my 4.0 GPA.
FERNANDO: That’s expected of you.
ALICIA: Where are you going? We need to decide what you’ll wear for the wedding.
FERNANDO: Pick anything.
ALICIA: Unbelievable.

[Antonio wakes up with a groan, eyes still shut.]
ANTONIO: Ma and Juliana are definitely not invited to my wedding..... Screw all that.
