Imagine a college where no class had more than 12 students, where you never once read from a textbook or listen to a lecture, and have no tests. Imagine a college where you openly discuss, and have an equal vote on, all matters regarding the school.

Imagine spending four years reading great books, discussing them in small groups, and writing. Imagine four years of training in critical thinking and conversing with people who care about the same thing.

That was my college experience.

Nothing has shaped me and my work as much as my time there.
