2008, 2009, 2011 and 2019•
A little over 10 years span these pictures and although there isn't much physical difference, the spiritual and emotional growth has been what I'm most proud of. How little I truly knew about myself, life, love etc. at 21 versus what I know now at 31. Every day is a process, I never want to stop learning and growing. The last few years have been truly humbling. I've been through more than any of you can imagine but I always got back up after being knocked down. I've smiled while dying on the inside, I've helped others through depression while silently battling my own. But there have also been some beautiful moments and exceptional people that have kept me afloat. Grateful for forever growth, genuine people, love, life and the determination to always remember life is short. 2019 is a year of hope, celebration, self acceptance and rejuvenation. Learning to love myself again and allow myself to be a little more transparent in order to help and inspire anyone around me. Whenever you met me on this journey, thank you, and I'm glad you're all still here. Much love & light.
Thought before action
I intended to write a long post about a feeling I often experience every once in a while. A feeling that albeit all too tragically familiar, is one I struggle to describe adequately. I often hide within the comforts of silence because in silence, I don't have to admit certain things about myself. I don't have to come to terms with this constant pang of... something.
In the moments before revealing my vulnerability, I was reminded of a quote that I posted, on this day 6 years ago. It was one of the first few times I ever felt this way and to this day I struggle to accept this...

There's several people who have touched my life and touched my heart over the years that leave me feeling the void of their presence, or the consistency of their energy completely disarming.

Cautious excitement
For the first time in years I am cautiously excited. This year has been hell and last year wasn't much better. For a long time I've felt lost, disconnected, depressed and just low overall. I never talked about it and there's still so much I'd rather not share...
But what I will share is that one of the things I've been doing to cope with all the heavy shit it my life has been reconnecting with all the creative passions and hobbies I've pushed to the side.
I used to write through my pain and for the better part of two years I've stifled that part of myself in an effort to bury all the grief and pain I've endured.
But no more. Hiding will not heal you.
Slowly feeling like myself again and feeling the weight of the world lifting.
Cautiously excited for whatever the universe has planned for 2019.

I'm pretty 50/50 split with being happy with my life and regretting 90% of the decisions I've made up until this point...
Random stream of consciousness...
I miss the old days of tumblr... I miss the sense of community. I joined 8 years ago and over the last 8 years so many people I once followed have deleted their blogs, and a few followers I admired have deactivated also.
I miss writing. I miss what my page once was... I miss the inspiration I had to journal everything. I used to post whatever I would feel unapologetically, even used to piss off a few trolls and now... Idk.
It's easy to reblog but it doesn't allow you to really get to know me or me to get to know you. So in an effort to revamp my blog and not be like all those that gave up on tumblr (because I know there are still some OG followers that have been on this journey with me for almost a decade), I am taking the effort to get back in to it.
My blog may be a shell of what it once was, but I promise you, it'll return to its former glory. I just need to chill on it the last couple of years for the sake of self care and some heavy life shit that was keeping me down.
So to the old followers, "I'm back" and to any new followers "I'm Kris, nice to meet you."

There’s an unfair position that women are sometimes put in, in the context of superhero movies and action movies, where at once they have to be very strong and fierce, but also sexy.
Frustration
It's really fucking irritating that I'm angry every time I write something on here. In a way it's a good release because I know basically no one reads my stuff at this point and I'm barely active... but frustrating to feel I have no one in the real world, or anyone in my tangible universe that I feel will hear me. And I mean really hear me, not just listen to respond. Some days I feel like I'm losing my mind but I hide behind smiles and convincing myself that tomorrow is always a new day. *sighs*
Today was a stupid day...from beginning to end. And the only day of the week that had the potential to be anything so...yay...
