Well, I haven’t been on this thing since last year so here’s so updates:

I got married again, for reals this time with a dress and everything at Gretna Green last August

I went to language school in Lviv this summer to learn Ukrainian

I’m going to TEFL school in Prague in February

I write fanfiction now

So, basically, I stopped posting because I just sort of stopped caring. Tumblr is an outrage factory and as much as I love a lot of you and find your opinions insightful, and as much as some of you have shaped my own beliefs, I just can’t be involved in this bollocks anymore. Eurovision killed it for me to be honest. A fat Israeli beatboxing with Asian inspired staging was pretty much guaranteed to turn into a discourse festival and I realised I didn’t really wanna have any part of that shit anymore.

You all have been lovely, and some of you in particular have been a huge influence on my post-SJ politics, but it’s time for me to leave this particular end of tumblr.

A Hakka walled village is a large multi-family communal living structure that is designed to be easily defensible. This building style is unique to the Hakka people found in southern China.

The Hakkas who settled in mountainous south western Fujian province in China developed unique architectural buildings called tu lou, literally meaning earthen structures. The Hakkas set up these unique homes to prevent attack from bandits and marauders. The tu lou 土楼; are either round or square, and were designed as a large fortress and apartment building in one. Structures typically had only one entranceway and no windows at ground level. Each floor served a different function - the first hosts a well and livestock, the second is for food storage and the third and higher floors contain living spaces. 1) We used to live about an hour away from this waterfall, it’s gloriously loud (especially this time of year)

2) Seriously, don’t bother with the bottled water. Tap water is beyond fine. Fuck, even lake and river water is good. If the smell of water in the more geothermal areas of the country like Reykjavik bothers you, just fill some glass bottles and put em in a fridge for a bit.
