it wasn’t unusual for roman to be out and about on the streets of gotham when he should be back at arkham asylum. he had connections on the inside that helped escape easy and it was so hard for some people to say no to such a charming young boy. tonight was no different, roman and some of his henchman were roughing up an older man who owed them money. he had been saving up to pay the people inside the system to officially release roman, but the money had disappeared roman found out it was from gambling. he was too into the moment, pocket knife out as she dangerously trailed it down the mans skin. as he heard the crunch of leaves, he slowly turned around, eyes low like a predator analyzing it’s prey. “well well, what do i have here?”

Liz had been walking home from a friends house, her phone ringing over and over again with the words DAD lighting up every time. She rolled his eyes and put him to voicemail. She was a big girl, he didn’t need to worry about her. While walking past a alley she heard screaming and she leaned against the side of the building and peaked into the alley to see the older man being assaulted by a group of men. She noticed one in particular, he seemed to be the ringleader of the group, his knife dragging across the mans neck. Liz went to move to run and change into her costume when she heard a raspy voice echo in the hallway. “Shit.” She muttered, she couldn’t run, she knew that. She put on the best scared face as she could, walking slowly up to the ginger. “L-Let him go!” Liz stuttered out, wanting him to believe that she was scared, her hand holding her safety knife behind her back, covered by her shirt. “What did he do to you?”

arianna stepped into the scuffle, holding up her hands. “hey, hey. back off, now. you really think she did this? calm down, i saw the whole thing. she’s innocent.”

Liz looked at Arianna and she let out a sigh of relief as the officers walked away from the two girls, leaving them with the two that were fighting. “It’s what I get for actually caring, thanks Arianna.”

“He’s a detective of sorts. John Constantine.”

Liz stopped and nodded. “So, whenever things happens, you try and help him? Isn’t that dangerous?”

“I actually have no idea of what’s going on? Though it usually has something to do with him, and someone he pissed off so.”

“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to sound ignorant but who exactly is your dad? He doesn’t sound like the nicest guy around.”

Kale quickly ran a hand through his hair as he raised an eyebrow at the girl. He then cocked his head a little. “Bursting in rooms and telling me what to do? Why I never!” he said putting his hand on his chest in false shock, before noticing his ring glowing before his hand shot behind his back. “Oh, fine, whatever, just turn around, yea?”

“I’m lost, okay? It isn’t like I wandered around just looking for you.” She teased back with a smile, her eyes wandered to the ring before raising her hands in the air and turning around like he instructed. “May I ask why are you practically naked in a random room?”

“Look I know what it looks like but this wasn’t my fault!” Liz tried to defend herself. She had watched a fight break out and tried to stop it, now she was the bad guy in the end. "I was just trying to be a good citizen for once, do you really think I could beat both of them up, honestly?"

“Tell me again why we’re here?” She raised a curious yet confused brow at the other. She didn’t know how she let herself get in these situations.

"If I don't get this homework, my parents will kill me so just watch the door and nudge me if there's a teacher okay?" Liz asked, slipping into the dark classroom.

“I have no idea what’s going on, but I blame my dad for all of it.”

“Well isn’t that just way easier than taking blame for what you obviously did.” Liz voiced laced with anger as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Kale was late and flew in the window as quickly as he could. His patrol had been pretty fruitless, but he figured it was all for the best, in his mind. He cracked his knuckles, and began to panic as he heard someone walking into the room and he had to quickly dismiss his costume as the other entered.

“Oh…hey there….What’s up, you need a hug or something?”

Liz walked into the room, obviously lost when she looked up and noticed the shirtless boy. She stared at him for a moment, trying to gather her thoughts before finally speaking. “No, but I would love it if you put some clothes on?”

She had listened her whole life to what her parents had to say about good and evil, until she learned who her parents were.
