I got into F1 through dts and my now ex boyfriend, I know I'm sorry I'm such a loser but still thank God to him because this sport makes me the happiest I've ever been.

I'm autistic and my favourite driver is Lando (obviously) but I am in the 33 and 81 camp like I'm at war.

I am desperate to make some friends in this fandom so plz don't hesitate to slide into my messages, I'm always happy to talk even if it's just silly memes of the drivers x

anyone else got F1 fatigue rn? I love it and of course, I keep up but I don't feel excited like I used to. In my own life, yes I have fallen in love and no longer feel like lando norris is the only man in the world (thank you lando for being my parasocial fave for 18 months) but it was never just that for me and I assume many of you guys, it was community and the excitement of learning about a sport with such a dense history and technological advancement, yet I feel that the new regulations is part of the reason I feel this way...

I appreciate it's safer, I am overjoyed that it's better for the earth but Christ it's not racing, it's spectacle. As a fan from 2023 onwards, I have watched a new evolution of F1's interest in commercialisation and of course, it's been prominent before (shoutout to the Marlboro sponsor back in the day, you are the sexiest) but it's a new collaboration everyday. KitKat, Disney, Lego, whatever but I fear it's a contributing factor to the slow decline of the concept of racing in F1. Racing isn't the most important thing now, it's what it can sell. We can blame netflix, we can blame the fact there's never a dull moment in the short form content of tiktok or reels but nonetheless this is the first time I feel it has drawn away from those it has appealed to. I do not claim to be an OG fan, I was with a man who had a passing interest and I got invested from DTS and in turn, the fans who taught me more than I could have done alone but nevertheless, it goes to show that all of these fans have been dismissed as just "doing it for the drivers" are literally more pissed off by this formulaic (haha get it?) routine that F1 is on than say something like Charles engagement which idk what was happening there but god the F1 insta account was obsessed with it. it's just very strange.
