For you, most of life was divided neatly into two categories: work and distraction. Play was a distraction. Music was a distraction. Later on, when the number on the monolith enumerated the weight of the world falling squarely upon your shoulders, friends became a distraction. An indulgence that you could not afford. Religion, too, had fallen into that category. Why worry about what lies beyond when there may still be a chance to stop it? There was so much you didn't know about this world. Philosophizing was impractical when there was information to be gained that could lead to real progress. Perhaps you should have been more concerned about the theology of it all, given that death was all but certain if you didn't succeed. Maybe, if you had, you would have noticed the signs of a fallen god among you.

The fact that the creators of arcane, artists and writers, didn’t dumb/water down their work is what makes it a masterpiece. They didn’t take the audience into account when they created their art. They put their heart and soul into it. You rarely see that in todays entertainment.They took 8 (9?) yrs to make 18 episodes! Everybody agrees the artwork is beautiful, next level quality. But I want to assert that the writing is also. The difference in the way they are perceived is in the fact that the writers didn’t take into account the audience. They didn’t write an easy to understand story where motivation/actions are laid out step by step. They told the story they wanted to tell the way they wanted to tell it. They’re not trying to hold anybody’s hand or spoon feed us. That’s why so many ppl are complaining about ‘bad writing’. To be frank, it’s just going over their heads. Because you don’t have the media literacy, maturity or life experiences to understand a story doesn’t mean it’s bad, it means it’s too much for you. You literally just ‘don’t get it’.

Quick list of outright falsehoods surrounding LiS:DE:

- Lesbian Erasure (there are the most lesbians of any LIS game, including its first trans major character)

- hates Pricefield (Canonizes their relationship as romantic explicitly, which the OG did not)

- Multiple employees have said people in the company hated Chloe and wanted to get rid of her (one unverified and currently uncorroborated Redditor said so)

- Wants you to get involved with the male love interest (they definitely don’t give a shit if you do, he’s also bi and can end up with one of the other male characters)

- they didn’t want it to be a gay game so they broke up max and Chloe (pretty sure almost every major character is queer - gay, bi, lesbian, trans, even ace)

Despite these things being said, it’s not aggregating much lower than the anthology as a whole and general reviews are around the anthology as a whole, although distinctly lower than TC and LiS

Double Exposure was good, the haters are overreacting.

Chloe was never going to be a big part of the game. She's dead in half the playthroughs. It's completely believable that she and Max would break up in the bae timeline. Have you met Chloe? That level of immaturity combined with extreme teenage trauma x2 is not conducive to an immediately perfect relationship. They've been glued together for 10 years with no room to grow into their own individual people as adults. They need a break. Also the DE romance options are very flirty and casual and don't take away from Pricefield at all. It's literally so easy to imagine that Chloe and Max get back together in a few years.

The people protesting this game are missing out.

I'm kinda not cool with the criticism of there being no option for Max and Chloe to still be together in Double Exposure as "lesbian erasure?" Like, sometimes LGBTQ relationships will... fail, and it's actually healthy if that's depicted occasionally?

I wanna see her and Max have a very awkward reunion, and I want it to hurt.

I wanna see them working together because they have to, not because either of them are comfortable enough to volunteer for it.

I wanna see them stuck by themselves and have to confront the pain and awkwardness between them.

I wanna see Max tell her all about what she’s been through since, what it was like being alone again, what it meant to nearly lose someone else, and what it meant to to learn to let go of the pain and guilt of your past.

I wanna see that break Chloe’s heart, but also help her sob with joy because she never thought Max could forgive herself.

I wanna see her cup her stupid face in her own stupid hands and her own stupid tear stained face press against Max’s.

Anyone hating on this game is missing out on the sheer ludicrous amount of angst to comfort fodder we have been *gifted.*
