Do u ever think about how like Joyce lowkey treats Max better than Chloe? Because Max was kinda the golden child to Chloe's scapegoat. /gen

YES I HAVE ACTUALLY!!!!!!! you guys ever think about how joyce didn’t believe david was being a surveillance creep until max said something about it AFTER chloe? she doesn’t even need any evidence, just max’s word was enough to convince. it takes Max, after 5 years, to come back to arcadia bay and tell joyce that david is an asshole for joyce to start believing her. and even then joyce tells chloe to shut up after she gets one snide comment at him, as if she hasn’t been through years worse.

joyce says she moved on from the past, but i think she idealizes it just as much as chloe does, she just copes differently.

when joyce talks about max, it’s “beautiful young woman” but when it comes to chloe it’s “speak of the devil” that’s your daughter??? sometimes joyce makes it hard for me to believe she even Likes chloe.

joyce just. so soso clearly puts herself before her daughter. and max, infuriatingly, never once questions joyce for that.

max is the suck-up, people pleaser when it comes to adults, and chloe is the brash, rebel. and that is perfectly shown in their dynamics with joyce.

neither is inherently wrong but i am Very Surprised that chloe never holds joyce’s high pedestal of max against either of them. it’s actually pretty telling of her character. uhhh something self hatred something also puts people on pedestals ex: max.

i’ve been saying max was joyce’s golden child for ages… but i never quite considered chloe as a scapegoat specifically, but i think you’re right.

everything wrong with chloe is chloe’s fault, and everything wrong with max is often chloe’s fault— and also max’s fault for not Fixing chloe.

tysm 4 the ask… it’s too bad we never got to see this dynamic played out more. i would’ve loved to see max break out of her role and Actually stand up for chloe. she’s done it for others, why can’t she with chloe to joyce? (because max also idealizes her past and joyce is essential to that past. standing up to joyce would be like standing up to her own mother, which. max clearly isn’t heavy on)

a/n: i feel you girl my period is back after being on depo for nearly 3 years and i’m popping ibuprofen before my cramps can get to me. june my period was late as shit😭 sorry this took so long i hope you’re not suffering from the rag anymore 😁

꒱ ؘmax is so damn attentive to you while you’re on your period, she stays near you if you need cuddles or is always ready to heat up your heating pad or fill up your hot water bottle, makes you herb tea and always makes sure her bathroom is stocked up with everything you need depending on what you use.

꒱ lays with you as you’re suffering, rubbing your back, cuddling you through the pain until the ibuprofen kick in.

꒱ once you’re out and asleep she stays beside you, making sure you’re comfortable.

꒱ when your cramps are so bad you’re whimpering and crying she feels awful, her soft voice and her gentle touch soothes you.

꒱ max has bad cramps too, and always has to be laying down so she 100% gets it. don’t worry she’ll be either holding you as you lay on her chest while she rubs your back, or spooning you with her warm hands on your belly.

꒱ your mood swings don’t bother her that much, she just sympathises, she’s got a uterus and feelings, she gets it. and she’s amazing at comforting.

꒱ lets you sleep and rot in bed as she quietly cleans for you (and snoops) or whatever else you need done that you can’t right now.

꒱ chloe is the same. her periods are nasty, she gets painful cramps and sore back and she’s grumpy. so she leaves you alone when you’re in pain and having a shitty time. but when you’re crying from the pain and asking for cuddles or ibuprofen or a heating pad she’s immediately at your service.

꒱ like max, she’s making sure you’re good, not just physically comfortable but making sure you’re emotionally supported when your hormones get the better of you.

꒱ she does tease you a little of course, chloe being chloe. but not too much on you while your uterus is being squeezed with what feels like a compressor

꒱ she likes to hold you amongst your nest of blankets, her big hands on your tummy, the body warmth helping.

꒱ when you fall asleep she stays with you, still gently touching you, then gets up to help max with whatever she’s doing, taking over so max can go cuddle you.

꒱ after that the three of you lay together, you in the middle, sandwiched between them.

꒱ day 3-4 of your period and you’re no longer cramping and still getting the attention from your girlfriends is absolute heaven.

꒱ that is, if you three don’t sync up. then it’s not so easy. but chloe will still be the saviour for her girls, until max tells her to lay down.

꒱ “argh.. fuck.. who’s getting the least amount of cramps?” chloe winces, curled up, max sighs. “probably me.” “can you get us some painkiller?” you whine. “yeah.. just give me a sec”
