i’ve been really disconnected from people lately because i find myself wanting to do things on my terms and on my time instead.

over the past few months, i’ve gone to the gym more, cooked dinner at home as often as possible as opposed to eating out, spent time doing things on my own, and slowly realized i am capable of spending time alone and that it truly is some of the most valuable time you get.

it was difficult maintaining any form of social relationships after summer because work was absolutely draining, physically and emotionally, but work has slowly died down and things are more stable; my district manager is thrilled with me and the way that i’ve been managing my store and has already mentioned that i’m going to be most likely transferred out soon to another location. it’s exciting to change but the hardest part is leaving my staff behind.

i think change is good— it’s necessary to change the people you’re around, your environment, and yourself regularly— but i’ve also learned how much it takes to make changes and how certain things need to come at a certain time. you can’t force it.
