just read a review for the menu that said like “this movie is promoting the idea that complex art is bad and mindless fun is good” and like. how can you misread a movie that badly. how can you think the burger = mindless fun. it’s the only dish that chef slowik shows intentional care towards making, the only dish he takes pride in, the only dish that he truly cares to hear the reception of…. the burger isn’t better than the other dishes because it’s simple, it’s better because it reminds him of the time when making food was an act of love and passion for him rather than an act of service to those who don’t care about it anyways.
