Spend some time away. Getting ready for the day you're born again. Spend some time alone. Understand that soon you'll run with better men. Alone again. No use looking out. It's within that brings that lonely feeling. Understand that when you leave here. You'll be clear. Among the better men.
Aysima had been walking with the only intention to find her daughter in this mess of a court. How anyone found anything in here was a mystery to her. Back at the harem everything and everyone had a place to exist and it was respected. Never would have anyone dared, even on accident, to step on the haseki’s foot. Still she managed to keep a diplomatic smile at the other’s apology, she knew better than to berate others outside her own palace.
“Do not worry about it child,”she said with a fakely sweet voice that could only be the result of years practice. “Though I do advice you to mind your step. You wouldn’t want to slip and fall in the middle of court.”Â
The Princess's manicured hand moved from the woman's arm, wary eyes surverying the situation. Hearing her mother's voice in the back of her mind telling her to - ' stand up straight you silly girl ' - , she subtly found herself pushing her shoulders back, accentuating the pearls that hung from her neck and rested between her collarbones. Not varying from her character, Ludovica's expression remained emotionless, not changing to match to faux politeness radiating from the other. " I appreciate your concern, Majesty. " Bowing her head to the woman. " But I am not a child. I do not skip through court whimsically, I have the poise to ensure that will not happen. "
Sofia had no time to waste in Greece. This was a golden opportunity for her and for Spain. So many monarchs under one roof, with nowhere else to go other than chambers were affairs of the state were the main topic all day, every day. What better time was there for Sofia to obtain allies for her country? The Spaniards had long-known about her abilities, had looked at her as their ruler for years even if it was her late brother who wore the crown. For everyone else, however, she was still new on the throne. Whilst word surely travelled fast, Sofia wanted to prove to everyone what kind of queen she was. A queen without a king by her side, with big ideas for her country and the will to do whatever it takes to get there.Â
Discussions with one particular monarch had taken longer than expected, with Sofia growing weary of the other going around in circles, only revealing his own country’s weaknesses as he did so. She was quick to hurry off to her chambers once she reduced the other to wordless stutter, realizing that he had wasted too much of her time. She was not one to be inattentive to her surroundings, but Sofia did have her moments - of which this was one. As she felt the kick into her foot, a small yelp left her lips as she attempted to keep her balance. A hand on her arm was an aid to keeping her steady, and furiously she whipped her head around to see who it was. Yet the look on her face quickly dissolved into one of surprise at the sight of the Italian princess. “Ludovica! Is a kick in the foot the proper way to greet a friend?”
She could feel her breathing even out as she came to realize that she had not accidentally ran into a fiery king who would smack her down for moving in his path. Instead she looked into the eyes of the familiar woman, appreciating the fact that she could have still shrilly told her off, but chose not to. The swift movement of the queen caused her back to arch in an attempt to move herself out of the line of fire. Straight teeth grazed her bottom lip as the corners of her mouth lifted into a muted smile. Ludovica pulled the silky light blue fabric of her heavy dress out from its tangled position and stood up straight, releasing her grip from Sofia's arm, and placing her hand softly into the other's. "Ciao bella." Â
Deep within, she found entertainment from the fact that the two women were taking up a decent portion of the hallway, that they had become a focal point of all those passing by. It was by far more interesting than the almost half hour she had spent boredly watching. "Where are you off to in a hurry ?"
Her neck rested uncomfortably against the hallway wall as she stood leaning against it. Bored eyes surveying those who passed by, desperately wishing for something slightly interesting to pull her out of the almost sedated state of disinterest. It was probably odd for those walking past. Hallways normally lack stationary people, its purpose dictates movement to ensure there isn’t any delay. So her placement, although odd, was carefully picked. She knew this place was filled with interesting people, and what better place to observe them than in an position where they are simply travelling from point A to point B.Â
She had been standing in the one spot, alone, for about twenty-five minutes. Which was about twenty-four minutes too long to not be deemed as suspect. In a swift and honestly smooth movement, she pushed off the wall, hips moving first in a kind of body roll. Her head falling backwards in the movement. The whole thing was a dramatized rendition of an action that is very simple. And in the process she did not time her movement into the empty space between the moving people well, so her first step off the wall resulted in an accidental kick of the toe of her heeled shoe into the foot of another. She gripped onto the arm of victim of the poorly timed movement to steady herself. A muttered apology quietly escaping her lips as she awaited the either polite or cold response that was coming her way.
SYDNEY SWEENEY, 24, SHE/HER, FEMALE.  LUDOVICA SAVOY has just arrived in greece. they’re a princess from ITALY. their eyes seem to tell us a million things but FLOATING AROUND CORNERS, HAIR IN THE GRASS, LOOSE RIBBONS, GLASSY EYES are seen from the surface. she hopes to gain REDEEM HERSELF IN THE EYES OF HER MOTHER while here in greece.
Hey all!! I’m here with some of Ludo’s headcanons, if anyone wants to start a thread maybe like this and we can have a cheeky chat about it.
TW: death.
Her mother doesn’t like her, not only favouring her brother above her, but treating him like he’s the pride and joy of the family. She was always closer with her father so when he died it really affected her.
Her father died when she was 13.
She had a reasonably pleasant childhood, she and her brother got along really well, and for the most part her parents had a fairly loving marriage.Â
When she was 7 she was walking through the courtyard right by the castle in which she lived, and found a dead body, one of the young maids had jumped from the roof, she never found out why, but she was never the same.
She’s usually the quiet one at the table. But she doesn’t try to hide herself from others. She makes it a little bit of a game to make people uncomfortable with eye contact.
She loves finding new places, every part of her home in Italy was discovered by Ludo, so she’s very likely to be in places she shouldn’t at court in Greece.
She’s very active, enjoys sports and active games, being idle for too long makes her uncomfortable, so it’s no unlikely for her to just randomly get up and walk out of a room once she’s bored of it --- which often happens quickly.
Meeting new people is exciting for her, but because she’s not a talkative person, it’s not very obvious to those who she’s meeting for the first time.
She is really nice and polite but honestly is just straight up a flirt, a lot of women tend to not like her, and she grew up not being liked by her mother so it doesn’t really phase her anymore.
The only thing that her mother did like about her was that she grew up to be beautiful, it was something that she could work with, something she could be proud of. Having offspring that were attractive boosted the popularity of the royal family among the people. Humans being superficial meant that they were drawn to beauty.
As a result of her education growing up, she speaks Italian, French, German and English. She is also quite a proficient piano player.
She hasn’t cried since her father died, and even that was extremely uncharacteristic for her.
The three times her mother tried to marry her off, she was a complete asshole to them and despite the power and money they would get from the marriage, she managed to repel them enough to walk away. Her mother didn’t even try to find someone who she could actually fall in love with, all three of them were old nobles who were either widowed or too repulsive to have ever been married. She knows that more than anything her mother wants her to be married, so when they were invited to Greece, she hoped she maybe could find someone who was a decent match for her, someone that would make both Ludovica and her mother happy.
