The First Move.

Last Minute Movers established in 2006 and has been moving Corpus Christi and its surrounding area for the past twelve years, or is it? Give me a few minutes of your time, and let me tell you the story of the first move ever done by Last Minute Movers. It was an early morning, real early, cold and a little damp that fall 2003 morning. I was woken up with a shake on the shoulder by my older brother.

“Hey get and get dressed”, he whisper.

“Come on man, I just want to sleep in”, I whimpered.

My brother had booked a move for us that morning without my knowledge and was letting me know forty-five minutes prior to us being at the customers house. My thinking was, we would go over unload a couple of objects and be on our marry way. There is always one secret I have come to realize in the moving business, and that is, never expect a move to be easy or have have the move go your way. We got in my old truck and made our way to the Beach Haven Retreat Vacation Rental in Corpus Christi, Texas. Instead of the move being easy with a few items the move turned into an eighteen wheeler box just waiting to be unloaded into the customers apartment and into her storage. Oh! One more thing, her eighteen wheeler box storage was across the street from her apartment.

“Sir, are you serious? We have to move everything in the box to across the street with one dolly”. I said.

“Ah! Do not worry about it little brother we got this, just me and you okay”. He ‘responded with a low laugh.

“I am asking for a raise right now”. I joked.

After three trips to the storage unit, and a multitude of trips to her apartment across the street we finished the job at eleven P.M at night. All together the one job took took sixteen total hours. The first move and it was not the last to come around, but this one was different it was the start of something. I eventually left the company to join the United States Army, but on my return Last Minute Movers has been in business for well over ten years, and we continue to serve Corpus Christi and the surrounding areas. Thank you, for hearing my story.
