Been a busy couple of months since Xmas so I’ll round it all up into one post...
I’ve just put out an EP of super lofi house-y sounds - called My House is My House, Vol.1 all hand sequenced and unquantized, no laptops were hurt during the making of this! There’s more on the way, possibly through a tasty label: https://lofivemusic.bandcamp.com/album/my-house-is-my-house-volume-one
Emotion Wave has awaken from a prolonged state of inactivity and metabolic depression to bring you it’s twelfth instalment of experimental electronic sounds from across the north west. Join our congregation and experience live sets from: RYKARD // [Beautifully crafted glacial downtempo electronica, perfect for evening reflection. Check out his latest album, 2016’s ‘Luminosity’: https://rykard.bandcamp.com] Bye Louis // AKA Less Effect DJ and dance producer, Horus - Kieran Callanan’s alter ego Bye Louis explores electronic music from a songwriting perspective: https://soundcloud.com/horushere BRN/rd/YND // Experimental analog noise and crescendos of textures - with an LP released last year ‘It Is Almost Complete’: https://www.juno.co.uk/products/brn-rd-ynd-it-is-almost-complete/659196-01/ We’re also very happy to welcome back Bemp, currently busy in the studio working on their debut album - who’ll be spinning tunes for us all evening.
In terms of live sets - I had a blast supporting Moon Duo last month. I may be playing RSD on 21 April at 81 Renshaw, plus there’s something in the pipeline for September which I’m very excited about. Also working on a potential all day summer event - bit of work behind the scenes going on with this - all to be announced in due course...
Currently working on a new release of remixes and compilation tracks I’ve made for other people. It’s called ‘Propagate’ and it’ll be available on a rather gorgeous looking CD via Emotion Wave. Announcement coming soon - join the mailing list for updates on that: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1625447444360393/ // http://eepurl.com/34KX1
As 2017 draws to a close, Getintothis presents our tenth annual top 100 albums of the year. Another year nearly done and dusted, and another year of new music well and truly digested. It’s really only when we’re compiling (read: wrestling haplessly) with our annual top 100 album lists that we manage to see the woodRead More
Made it into the Getintothis top 100 albums of 2017 - thanks for listening!
Happy to have made it into Liverpool etc’s ‘Seventeen from Seventeen’ end of year list, some real gems in there I wasn’t aware of.
New release from Upitup Records out now. 'Knobheads' is a compilation featuring the best electronic music from various crews across Liverpool, to celebrate the label's 10 years in the city - and I'm very happy to have my track 'Unlock Your True Potential' on there 📈 Download for FREE from http://upitup.com/releases/upfree70

Nice review of my album here from Alan O’Hare at Liverpool etc.
Had the pleasure of making a mix for the superb Jupiter Room radio show - here’s an interview I did with show host Mike Stanton by way of introduction.
It’s been very quiet here because I’ve been on a holiday of sorts in Liverpool. A holiday of the most bizarre, intense and pleasurable kind taking part in the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu‘s return to the public eye with their ‘Welcome To The Dark Ages’ 3-day situation. You may have seen some photos if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen parts of it on the news or in the papers and I’m still writing up the whole episode for this blog. In the mean time, here’s my set from Emotion Wave last Saturday – a night not dissimilar in concept to my own Further nights, so much so that I even brought along some of my projections. Run by Neil Grant aka Lo Five it runs every two months at 81 Renshaw on Renshaw Street, Liverpool (which has a great little secondhand record shop down in the basement). As ...Read more…
Here are some words from DJ Food, who I had the pleasure of playing alongside at Emotion Wave.
