Life of an IB Kid

From this point on, our experiences in the International Baccalaureate Program will be documented for the world to see. We, Rachel and Cayla, are IB sophomores in the US. It is suggested to document your CAS experiences through blogs. However, why limit blogging to just CAS? Why not discuss our everyday lives in IB? We will post about what goes on in our school in relation to our IB classes, events, and social experiences. We will try to offer advice based on our experiences when we can. Thanks!!!!!

CAS

I just spent a long while working on my CAS Journal, and guess what pretty people, I am now ONLY THREE MONTHS BEHIND!!!!!!!!!!!!  YAY!!!!

Summer assignments are ruining my summer :(

In Cold Blood, with commentary journal.

Silent Spring, with comprehension questions.

4-part Biology assignment.

5-part HOTA assignment.

CAS journal and hours.

Adopt a spot and make some kind of scrapbook with it... df?

Preparation

So, tonight, I started getting my CAS journal together.  Let's just say that it seems massively more complicated than it needs to be.  It also doesn't help that even though IBO requires 150 hours, our school requires IB kids to have 200 hours.  DON'T FRET THOUGH!!  We'll be okay, we'll ALL be okay.  We'll go through this together.

Just another day

It was so sad today in P.E....

We were playing kickball and four guys started running toward the ball and Kiana and I started discussing whether it would be a nonpolar or polar molecule.

End of the World

It's official, the End of the World, otherwise known as the AP Euro test, is in less than four days.  

We have prepared all year for this tragic end guys.  Keep working hard, don't give up, cause then you have to realize that this is only the beginning.

Invisible Children 25 starts tonight at 7!

To add on to what Cayla was saying, the Invisible Children Program came to our school today.  We are encouraging everyone to help out the cause.

The quickest and most efficient way to help is to participate in the 25 Hour Silence for the Silenced commemorating the 25 years of War in Northern Uganda.  On 25 April, over 25 000 people will be silent for 25 hours to raise money for IC’s new Radio/Rehabilitation program.  Each person is encouraged to raise $25.  Also for $25, you can buy a kit with a 25 T-shirt, cards to hand out explaining why you are participating, and a lanyard to carry the cards. 

As IB students, we are supposed to promote peace throughout the world, so Cayla and I hope that everyone will participate in the 25 hours of silence.

Today, we learned about the Invisible Children and the Lord's Resistance Army that has been taking over parts of Uganda, The Congo, Sudan and parts of Central Africa.
