A chilly night
You knew Younghyun for quite some time now and because you have mutual friends you see him once in a while on parties or get-togethers. But most of the time you see glimpses of him sitting in your local Burger King, eating to his heart´s content.
It’s been tough for you to make new friends. You’ve been in Korea for only a couple of months, so it’s nice to have someone like Younghyun around. Every now and then you casually go and talk to him if you were to see him on campus. And you even studied together before your finals, which was great as he was a couple of semester ahead of you, meaning he really was a huge help.
Then it began. You caught yourself searching for him - naturally seeing him from afar. And you couldn’t resist this feeling. You thought that it was a one - sided crush. Nothing too special. So you tried to ignore it, telling yourself that Younghyun is not seeing you in this kind of light, that you should just play it safe and continue being his friend.
A college party was taking place on a cool winter night and at first you didn’t really want to go. But as you didn’t have anything better to do you let your friends persuade you to go - and you went. There were a lot of unknown faces. All of a sudden you lost track of your friends on the dance floor, which made you feel awkward and led you to playing with the thought of screwing it all and just go grab something at McDonalds. At that moment you saw a familiar figure. He was smiling at you shyly - always glancing at you and turning his head whenever your eyes meet.
You thought his behavior was kind of cute and as if hearing your thoughts, the guy suddenly walked over to you. In a few seconds he was standing right in front of you and he introduced himself:
Hi, I´m Dowoon.‘
Actuall you know Dowoon from a couple of your classes together but being the shy guy that he is he has never approached you so openly. So you took the chance to get to know him better.
`Wanna go outside?´, you ask.
`Sure.´
That´s how you two ended up talking outside of the party
You noticed, that he was a bit drunk but didn’t really care at this point. He was actually really funny and you enjoyed his company a lot.
Suddenly you had this strange feeling, as if someone was staring at you. It was a slightly uncomfortable, but you choose to ignore it anyways.
`Ehm. do you want something to drink?´, Dowoon asked.
You nodded your head and he went away to grab you guys some drinks. As soon as he went away you felt the cold air blowing, sending chills down your spine.
Having fun earlier with Dowoon distracted you from the cold weather but now you noticed it slowly seeping through your pair of jeans and sweater, making you shudder. There wasn´t much you could do about it – Dowoon wouldn´t be able to find you otherwise.
Being lost in your own thoughts you were pretty startled when you suddenly felt a jacket being put around your shoulders. You naturally thought it was Dowoon, but when you turned to face the person, it was Younghyun. He was standing right next to you, not saying anything, just looking straight at the stars. Seconds passed and neither of you said a word.
Finally after what felt like a long time he seemed to have collected his thoughts and said,
`You seemed cold.´
You replied, Didn’t know you were coming.´
`Yeah…´, he replied still not looking at you.
`Why are you outside though?´
No answer.
´Younghyun?´
Still no answer.
`Okay you’re kinda pissing me off right now, what’s up?´
He sighed and turned to you. You could see a mixture of fear, sadness and dismay in his eyes. And little bit of anger.
`I´m sorry.´
`Sorry for what Younghyun?´
`It’s totally not your fault that I’m such a fool.´
`Are you drunk?´
`No, but I just realized something...´
Suddenly he moves his hands to your face. Slowly inching forward, let’s his hand rest there and with his other hand held up your chin a little higher to face him.
`I like you.´, he whispered.
Then he closed his eyes and planted a delicate kiss on you.
Bonus:
Dowoon was getting back with two drinks in his hands only to see her staring at a familiar figure, which turned out to be Younghyun. He saw the two of them kissing and he thought to himself `Yes! Gotta tell Jae that his plan worked´.
He knew for a long time that his friend had a crush on her. In fact, he was the only one who noticed. Even Younghyun himself didn´t realize it at first.
But Dowoon always saw how much Younghyun laughed whenever she said something even remotely funny.
He noticed that before Younghyun met up with her, he was always checking his phone every five minutes as if he was waiting for her reply.
Still, none of all those things weren’t enough to convince Dowoon completely, he needed solid proof. So he consulted this matter with Jae, who told him,
`Bruh, you’re right, I don’t doubt that he likes her at all.´
`How can you be so sure of it?´
`Well it’s easy... she’s the only person he ever let have a bite from his hamburger.´
`Yeah, I see your point.´
And after that conversation their plan was made.
