How did you meet Princess?

Well... I was coming back from one of my jobs in Crossroads and heard some weak meowing coming from a box, I found the poor thing abandoned and I just couldn't help but take her home with me.

Honestly? Adopting Princess was the best decision I've ever made. I wouldn't change her for anything.

Princess is doing well, she's currently on my lap holding me hostage I have been sitting for 3 hours don't send help though I'm exactly where I want to be

Hm... I'm already hearing at least five different bird species.

*Suddenly there's another noise somewhere near in the tall grass.*

Hm?.. Sixth one. Quail.

*She crouches and begins slowly move through the tall grass, trying to not scare off the bird.*

—The antennas on Hyperlaser's visor click again as he crouches as well, moving right behind Kiki. Surprisingly enough, his footsteps are incredibly silent.—

“So.. is this like.. your job?”

*Suddenly there's a weird sound: something between bark and scream, which makes Kiki freeze for a moment.*

Oh. Roe deer's scream. Well, looks like it wouldn't be a mere birdwatching.

“What was that sound, if I may ask?”

—Hyperlaser paused once he heard that strange scream, he couldn't recall ever hearing anything similar..—

*Moment. The world changed. Now they were standing in the middle of the steppes and Kiki finally let go of Hyperlaser's hand.*

Be quiet. I don't want this symphony of calmness to be disturbed by loud sounds.

“. . .how'd you do this? What kind of.. huh..?”

—It was quite obvious Hyperlaser had been left completely confused by this sudden change of worlds, as it seemed.—

*Kiki sighs and reaches out to take his hand.*

Wanna go in the middle of nowhere?.. I mean... Steppes or something like that. There's a lot of birds and animals. Plus no one's lurking around.

“I suppose we could.. as long as there's no one around.”

—Hyperlaser stared at Kiki's hand for a moment, hesitating before finally taking it—

“...You can lead the way.”

*They tilt their head.*

Name? I'm not quite comfortable with my name, so I'd rather tell you my nickname. Call me Kiki or whatever you want. It really doesn't matter to me.

“Kiki. Well, it is certainly better than just calling you a stranger...”

—At least it was a name of sorts, Hyperlaser liked knowing at least a nickname of those who he talked to, especially after his little... Paranoid episodes..—

No, not at all. Predatory fish is ok with worms, guppies have automatic feeder... As for frog... Well... She's spending most of the time buried into the wet moss, glaring hatefully at everyone who's walking into the room.

*They shrug.*

“Huh.. sounds easier than I've always imagined it to be, if I'm honest.”

—He hummed before remembering... Right, why was a stranger talking to him again? Sure, he'd received some berries from them but.. who even were they?—

“I apologize but.. what was your name again?”

*Person hides camera into their backpack.*

I also have pet... Well... Pets. Frog, cat and two aquariums (one with guppies and one with a quite inadequate predatory fish)... I also used to have a crab, but he became a university property after his quite short life.

“That's a lot of aquatic creatures... Isn't it hard to take care of all of them?”

—Hyperlaser tilted his head as he asked, growing more curious about the little animals mentioned—

*They notice cat's fur on his coat.*

Hm? Do you have a cat or did you just pet a stray cat?

“Mhm... That's normal around these parts.”

—Hyperlaser sighed and returned the camera to the stranger, the antennas on his visor clicking and raising as he heard the question—

“Oh, yes, I own a cat.. her name is Princess, she's just a fat ball of love...”

—Seems like reminiscing about his beloved cat is always a mood lifter for him, how cute!—

“I've had her for maybe.. 5 years already? She's a sweetheart.”

—Hyperlaser mumbled while checking the gallery. To be fair he appreciated photography quite a bit.—
