It’s a benevolent madhouse. As soon as the director yells ‘Cut,’ Martin Sheen and John Spencer are trading old New York theater war stories, Allison Janney is pretending to talk to someone on a prop phone, Dulé Hill is tap-dancing with jaw-dropping skill, Richard Schiff is tossing Hershey’s Kisses into a coffee mug from across the room, Bradley Whitford, that avid yoga show-off, has his foot atop a bookcase, and I’m usually pressuring people to play poker with me.

“Don’t forget! Hartsfield votes in three hours and 21 minutes! We’re gonna find out who the next president is.” The West Wing: Hartsfield’s Landing 2002 > 2020
HARTFIELD’S LANDING (2002 / 2020)
On the day before the New Hampshire primary, the President plays a game of diplomatic and military chess with the Chinese government over Taiwan while playing games of actual chess with Toby and Sam (on chessboards given him by the Prime Minister of India). Up in New Hampshire, the small town of Hartsfield’s Landing is voting at midnight and Josh is determined that Bartlet not lose there. So Donna draws an assignment that gives new meaning to the phrase “retail politics.”
Why did you come back? I told you. My program in New York closed. No, I mean to medicine. Oh. Well, four months after I quit, I was on the subway and this guy, pretty young, in his 40s, went into cardiac arrest. He was dying and everyone was just standing there staring at him. So I suddenly realized, hey, I know what to do, jumped in and saved his life. It’s a great feeling. Yeah, it can be. Then I figured, I’m pretty good at this. Why waste it?
Like you said in your first message we’re not the same. I never had a girlfriend but Bram did. And I didn’t have super religious parents but Justin did. Every one of my friends had a little bit to offer. A little piece of the puzzle. They weren’t sitting around laughing about your life they were in your corner listening and helping and cheering you on.
Doug, I know everyone is worried about me but I’m fine. I was scared in that store, but I’m okay now.
We can’t deny the strong chemistry between these two.

“Why are we doing this?” “Because sticking his hand in a bucket of warm water would be juvenile!”
Normal People (2020)
It’s funny the decisions you make because you like someone, he says, and then your whole life is different. I think we’re at that weird age where life can change a lot from small decisions.
