Sassy Wolverine
Time to meet the Boyfriend -Logan/Kurt/Bobby
Logan growled again, completely blowing a gasket. When someone hit him, he got angry sure. But when somebody messed with his friends, he completely lost it due to the fact that he didnât have many people he was close to so that being so, he was protective of the people he did have in his life.
When he called him beatnik, he sent a punch into his stomach (retracting the claws first because come on,he wasnât that reckless) then gripped his lapel with one hand and shoved him against the wall once more, his claws extending to actually cut his throat slightly this time so blood trickled down.
He was livid.
âI donât think yer in a position to piss me off. Try me, dick. And you KNOW what this is about, woman beater. Ainât that right, Kurt?âÂ
âJa.â Kurt agreed, nodding, with a somber tone. There was no way he was going to get between Wolverine and a man on his list. No way at all. Not that heâd planned on it, anyway. âand a deceiver, I am thinking. Or do you not remember our earlier encounter?â
Kurt stepped around Logan, no no longer behind him, but beside him. Though his transducer was on, he let the shadows pull towards him, and flicker around his narrow eyebrows.Â
âI pity you, Herr, that youâve managed to find yourself on my friends bad side.â Kurt tsked, shaking his head. âHeâs most inconsolable when heâs upset. And he is particularly guarded of his loved ones.â
âHngghhhhâ The sight of the claws brought the Hobgoblin to the front of Roderickâs mind it was his self protection instinct, letting it out was the best way to guarantee his own survival. It scratched at the last wall between Roderickâs mind and the control over their body.
âWho the hell do you think y-â
âWoman beater?â Roderick thoughtÂ
âYes, woman beaterâ The Goblin replied
âHe - he must know, he knows about Kittyâ
âThe beatnik knows and so does the other guy, Starkâs friendâÂ
âHow though?â
âKittyâs a mutant, that guy said he teaches mutants he could teach Kittyâ
âYou thinkâ
âYeah it must be.Â
âShit, he must have seen the bruises. Fuck, what have I done, theyâll kill meâ
âNot if you fight backâÂ
âNo I canât, if I fight back and these guys mean something to Kitty then Iâll lose her. I canât lose her.â
âTheyâre threatening us, rip their throats out, cut out their spleens, break their legs and show them true painâÂ
âNo, no I canâtâÂ
âYou have to, theyâll kill you if you donâtâ
âThey wont kill me, They wouldnât want to hurt Kittyâs feelings, if she means something to them then theyâll just beat me up a littleâ
âYou canât be sure of thatâÂ
âIs this-â Roderick spoke calmly, maybe if he didnât act like a threat he might be left with only a few broken bones. â-gulp- is this about Kitty?âÂ
Kurt, that was the manâs name. âKurt, you you were with Stark that night. A deceiver, what do you mean?, that, all of that, the business with Stark that was before Kitty, before I - I â he could barely bring himself to say it. That night the Goblin had been in control, early days back before the split back before Roderick was his own man again. The flirting, it had all been a game a way to try and get on friendly terms with Stark, he didnât think it would come back to bite him in the ass.
âBefore I fell in - fell in love with herâÂ
âPlease, Kitty, she promised not to explain, I told her my reasons I told her why it happened and she understood. If you need to know I will tell you just please donât let it get out. Donât take Kitty away, I need her. She keeps it at bayâ Roderick started to cough and attempt to hold back the tears that were forming under his eyes.Â
âPatheticâ The Goblin mutteredÂ
âPity me, please go ahead Iâm pathetic. But not for this, I deserve this I know that. Pity me because Iâm fucking insane.âÂ
Roderick looked Logan in the eyes âHe says you love her, well if you do then you know how impossible she is, how you never feel worthy of her, now add being insane to the mix see how much worse it gets when you have that in there too.â
"Before I fell in - fell in love with her."
Logan had been in love before. He knew how it felt, Hell, he was in love right now. He had never raised a hand to those he loved, especially not women. He had a horrific temper which could match Bruce Banner's at times but...He wouldn't hit a friend either, he'd always punch a wall or take it out on an inanimate object before he'd ever hurt them.Â
He was a nice guy, underneath the brute. He'd just lived too long.
To digress, Logan held the point of view that if you really loved someone, truly, you wouldn't harm them and this was what he thought towards Roderick. His judgement might have been clouded by the fact that Kitty was like a daughter to him, sure, but...He was angry. No man should ever harm a woman, and harming someone close to Logan, well....That was like signing your own death warrant.
Of course, Logan didn't know that Roderick was also the Goblin.
Yet.
"You love her. Ya got some nerve, prick, if ya really loved her then you wouldn't dare fucking touch her. That girl is everything t' me an' if I so much hear that you've hurt her," He leaned into him, whispering sharply into his ear, "I'll take pleasure in stripping the skin from your bones and you'll die a slow, painful death."Â
He wasn't going to let it go completely, so he dragged his claw across the guys cheek and cut it, then let go of him but gave him a parting kick to the groin.Â
"If yer insane, ya shouldn't be allowed anywhere fucking near her."
My parcel of dangerous paraphernalia has arrived.
Donât tell me youâre going to get huffy and defend that banana peel nightmare. Even if it was a uniform, no one held a gun to your head and forced you into those smashing tights.
Smashing tights. Didn't know you swung that way Doom, but thanks.
My parcel of dangerous paraphernalia has arrived.
At least your tastes have matured in that regard then.
My taste? X-Men uniform, that was.
Hey Elf,
âBut they ainât anymore.â He replied, then waved his hand dismissively. He didnât want to speak about it - he was crushed, but before this heâd always done fine just on his own, so now he would too. Logan had always been the lone wolf and he would continue to be.
âPfft, I donât wanna share her, she ainât a prize. She can do what she wants, even if it means I have tâ watch Scooter dote on her.â Despite his many flaws, one thing Logan wasnât was selfish. He wanted her to be happy, even if it meant heâd be miserable in return.Â
âKurt. Iâm fine. When am I ever not?â Well, more often than not but stillâŠ
âIâm just gonna figure my shit out. I donât know if Iâm gonna teach at Starkâs or Xavierâs, I gotta look out for Kitty and Rogue.â
âI wish you would.â Kurt said, then. And surprised himself with his own blatant honesty. âThey need you. Xavierâs needs you.â
Kurtâs fingers played lightly over the countertop, and he followed the grain-wood patterns for a moment.Â
âStarks was started for something different. It is something different. Its⊠new.âÂ
Kurt shook his head, then, and laughed a little at himself. â I donât know if that makes sense. ButâŠit is nothing like what we had, with the Xmen. The technology? Is new. We can do things the Xmen couldnât. Financially, I mean. There is so much work to be done. But I think⊠I think perhaps it is a step in the right direction.â
â. . But. I donât think everyone is ready for it. You and I? We have wandered all our lives. We are used to change, Logan. The others? They had childhoods. Lives. Times that were happy. They are not ready to leave home.â
He knew that Kurt would give him the best advice and guidance he could and well, if the guy said he thought he'd be best back at Xavier's, then he believed him and relished his advice. "Then I'll head back to the mansion. Honestly Elf, I was thinkin' 'bout it, but thought you might have told me otherwise." He shrugged and downed another pint, going back for more.
"Charlie's was the first place I went when I got back and well...It's kinda my home, now. I reckon I can do best there, combat teachin' again, runnin' danger room sessions. The kids deserve some stability." He agreed, then sighed. He still didn't really know what he was going to do, about anything.
"So Kurt, I ask again, how are you doin'?"Â
My parcel of dangerous paraphernalia has arrived.
No thank you, I prefer my various valuable body parts to be well protected. Also, spandex is a poor choice for warmth, it conducts heat too readily.
Heh, my spandex days are gone now, Doom.Â
My parcel of dangerous paraphernalia has arrived.
Thereâs science to be done, youâd rather watch grown men in spandex pants pummel each other? Donât you see enough of that every day?
Oooh, burn. For the record Doom, you warm up to the spandex eventually.Â
My parcel of dangerous paraphernalia has arrived.
Itâs Christmas morning in castle Doom.
If anyone needs me, and I know for certain you donât, I will be enjoying an afternoon of Science.
Football's on, you'd rather do science?
Hey Elf,
He groaned when he knew Kurt wouldnât get away with it. Logan clearly wasnât the type of guy to tell people how he was feeling but Kurt was his best friend, he could speak to him about anything at all without receiving prejudice or judgement and he could always trust him to keep a secret when needed. They both knew instantly when the other wasnât himself, and just knew when something was wrong. Kurt had helped Logan more than he could ever know. They were best friends.Â
He felt comfortable speaking to him, and that was more than he could say for anybody else. âI just thought maybe this time would be different. Guess not.â He offered, with another shrug, trying to play it like he wasnât that affected.
âOh it was, was it? If anything else happensâŠTell me. Iâll gladly kick the bastardâs ass.â As much as he knew Kurt hated violence, that was usually Loganâs first reaction to everything when he was angry. âWhatâs not your place?â
âTo interject; between him and Jean. They were married, after all.âÂ
Which wasnât to say that arrangements couldnât be made. Kurt hummed in his throat.Â
âWhich, does not always mean that things are impossible.â he added. âBut ⊠that is a different situation. One that requires care. Scott will never share her, Herr Logan. We both know it.â
Kurt shook his head, and took another drink of beer. âNot that I would want this, between you three. It would be a war across all our teams.â He sighed, and shook his head. âBut⊠for what itâs worth. I do not think what has happened is right, Mein Freund. I worry. For you, and for your heart.âÂ
"But they ain't anymore." He replied, then waved his hand dismissively. He didn't want to speak about it - he was crushed, but before this he'd always done fine just on his own, so now he would too. Logan had always been the lone wolf and he would continue to be.
"Pfft, I don't wanna share her, she ain't a prize. She can do what she wants, even if it means I have t' watch Scooter dote on her." Despite his many flaws, one thing Logan wasn't was selfish. He wanted her to be happy, even if it meant he'd be miserable in return.Â
"Kurt. I'm fine. When am I ever not?" Well, more often than not but still...
"I'm just gonna figure my shit out. I don't know if I'm gonna teach at Stark's or Xavier's, I gotta look out for Kitty and Rogue."
Hey Elf,
Logan looked across to Kurt when he started speaking and he listened to him carefully. It was true - Kurt had hit the nail on the head. Logan had been after Jean since day one at the mansion, even when she was with Scott and wouldnât take a second glance at him. Theyâd grown closer over time though and he thought that maybe he had a shot but when he wasnât ready, she was, and heâd missed his chance. He hadnât felt this bad emotionally since Mariko.Â
He just turned back towards the bar when heâd finished speaking though, then remained silent as he downed the beer he had in his hand. After a minute or so of contemplation, he merely offered Kurt a defeated and sluggish shrug. âNaw, ya right. They have. But if sheâs happy thenâŠIâd be a jerk to deny her that, right? Itâs just, every time I see the guy I feel like killing him.â He shook his head, then just ran his hand through his hair.
âIt donât matter anyway. How are you?â
Kurt didnât get away with the re-direction. He wasnât going to let Logan flip it over on him.Â
âYou feel this way because-especially lately-there was a chance. Mein Freund it is only natural to feel dispirited when hopes are repeatedly dashed.â
Kurt paused the conversation to tilt his head and take a long, strait drink from his pint glass. When it came back down again, it was empty. Kurt refilled it from the pitcher without so much as a flinch. Then, he turned back to Logan.Â
âIâve not spoken a word of my feelings to either. The last time I tried, Scott and I came to blows. And my car was scratched.â Kurt added the last with a mocking smile at himself. âI abhor violence. You know this. But I feel if I came into things, it would come to that. And ⊠nein, it is not my place.â
He groaned when he knew Kurt wouldn't get away with it. Logan clearly wasn't the type of guy to tell people how he was feeling but Kurt was his best friend, he could speak to him about anything at all without receiving prejudice or judgement and he could always trust him to keep a secret when needed. They both knew instantly when the other wasn't himself, and just knew when something was wrong. Kurt had helped Logan more than he could ever know. They were best friends.Â

"Oh it was, was it? If anything else happens...Tell me. I'll gladly kick the bastard's ass." As much as he knew Kurt hated violence, that was usually Logan's first reaction to everything when he was angry. "What's not your place?"
Hey Elf,
Logan flexed his hand afterwards, not even having realised what heâd done. YeahâŠHe knew about Jean and Scott and although he tried to act unaffected, it was killing him inside. He felt like heâd just been pushed out of the picture since Scott had returned, and he had it in his head that maybe it had always been planned out that way. When Scott got back, he was priority but when he was away, Logan was just the substitute. Maybe it was his insecurities, (and it was) but thatâs just how he felt. Thatâs why heâd smashed the glass. Suppressed anger was a very dangerous thing, and Logan had decades of it. âWhat either âa them âa doinâ? Dâya mean their relationship or do I have tâ be clued into somethinâ that theyâre doinâ?âŠ.â He asked him, then stood up and reached behind the bar to get another glass when the guy wasnât looking, then sat back down and poured himself another pint, downing some afterwards.
âJa, among other things⊠â Kurt chewed on his lower lips for a minute with a sharp canine, and tilted a cautious eyebrow at Logan for a moment before he decided just to be strait.Â
âLogan, you have been chasing Jean since I was just a boy.â he twirled his pint glass on the counter. â And when she returned, and Scott was away⊠I was thinking perhaps you would finally have a chance to woo her.â Kurt shook his head. âBut I did not think⊠. â he sighed, his shoulders dropping. âI did not think she would take to Scott again. And I was wrong. Else I would have said something much, much sooner.â
Kurt leveled a gaze at his friend. âI do not approve of pulling on heart strings. And in my eyes, those two have played with yours for too many years. Pardon my saying so.â
Logan looked across to Kurt when he started speaking and he listened to him carefully. It was true - Kurt had hit the nail on the head. Logan had been after Jean since day one at the mansion, even when she was with Scott and wouldn't take a second glance at him. Iâm sorryâŠ
Yâknow, you, Rogue and Kurt âa all I got. I may be a jerk but I have tâ be tâ keep you guys safe.
Youâre not a jerkâŠI know Logan *hugs him again*
*Hugs her in return, patting her back affectionately*
I missed you
I missed you too. How âbout we go get some food anâ catch up?
*nods* Yeah, that sounds good.
Great, great.
