BIOGRAPHY
From the day that Logan McCarthy-Booker was born, he was a momma’s boy. There was never a time where his mother, Madison, walked more than a handful of feet away from him before he was following closely in her footsteps. As he grew older though, there started to be a lot more in common with his father. Gone were the days where Logan perched on his mother’s lap as she played the piano, humming along with her familiar songs as soon as Logan’s father, Jonas, introduced him to the world of sports. Logan would sit for hours next to his dad, listening closely and following along with the sports game that was playing on screen. They watched any and every kind of sport, and yet, Logan’s interest never faltered. It wasn’t long before the McCarthy-Booker clan was enrolling their child into as many sports as they could afford (and Logan could handle) and began to watch his journey from a small kid with big dreams to a teenager that was actually on the path to achieving every single dream.
Logan excelled mostly in soccer, the sport being one that he shared the most love with his dad about. He was making all-state teams, winning player of the weeks, and working his way towards being in the college scout’s eyes before he was even hitting his high school years. However, as soon as Logan learned about his parent’s divorce and why they were separating, Logan was changing a whole lot about how he was living his life.
His dad had cheated with one of his teammates mothers, leaving Madison absolutely devastated. Once Logan learned of this, he was angry, of course, and made sure that Jonas had more than enough reason to leave himself and his mom alone. It was the reason he dropped the ‘Booker’ from his name. It showed up on important documents, but other than that, Logan was nothing more than a McCarthy.
With his dad out of the picture, it almost felt as if soccer had been tainted. He couldn’t face the music with playing the sport that he had obsessed over with his dad for years, so instead of working through it, he walked away. After practicing and training multiple times a day before try-outs, Logan was changing his tone and joining the lacrosse team. He was a fast learner and the rest is history. Logan spent his years at high school perfecting the sport, which landed him with multiple opportunities for full ride sports scholarships to a handful of schools. However, it was the pitch from the OSU scouts that really perked his attention - he would be a Buckeye.
