“But she can’t just be naked all the time. You wouldn’t want her walking around naked to where many people will see it. Just because that’s what you do, doesn’t mean it’s what she should do. At least she should know not to strip her clothing when we are in public, agreed?” The brunette raised her eyebrows up at him, rolling her eyes. “There’s confidence and over confident. You’re overconfident. More like cocky. I’ve never met anyone as cocky as you.”

“Eh, she’s still young. It ain’t scandalous yet.” He looked down at her grinning as she’d taken over the pool in a splash fight with some black haired bow which resulted in water also splashing onto the floor. Not that he minded. He didn’t mind her statement, either, shrugging in fact with partial hope that it irritated her. “You’re just mad cause ya know I’m right.” He walked over to the counter where he kept the food and got himself a cheese slider to wolf down. All this preparation worked up his appetite.

“Well, I suppose not everyone can be an entertainer, poor jester,” she pouted at him, mouthing thanks as she stepped inside. Eyes made a quick scan around the place, as she hadn’t been to his bachelor pad before, actually liking what he’d done with the interior. Her attention was brought back to the child when she felt the weight of the gift bag leave her hands, and sounds of an overly excited girl who was flinging tissue paper around caught her ears. Inside the bag was a fairy Build a Bear as well as a homemade card that explained in a way the child would understand, that she booked for her to have her very own princess makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidy Boutique in Disney Springs. Watching the child’s reactions made all of her efforts worth it. Feeling the slight brush of the other against her back, without even thinking about it, she lent against him, her head turning up so her eyes could meet his. “I hope it isn’t too much. I just felt horrible that I wasn’t here to help celebrate how special she really is.”

Logan left it up to the brunette to read the card allowed and a smirk played upon his lips. Reese truly was the definition of extra and in instances like this, it got to him more than he’d like to admit. Something funny happening within his chest that he tried to swallow down as well as a strange magnetic itch on his hand. A thing he tried brushing away by rubbing his hand over the outer thigh of his pants as he stepped away. Watching as Naomi was bouncing around and hugging the bear, asking the woman if she could bring her new ‘friend’ and if daddy could get a makeover too. It was cute but he wanted to cringe at such a thought of that coming true where he was concerned. “I think ya made up for it. Ya missed a he--ck of a party, though.” It was still surprisingly difficult to censor himself. “Beach themed. She came as the princess Ariel, herself. We had it downstairs in the restaurant. Built sandcastles, had a couple kiddie pools and balls to play with. Lots of presents, amazing food, of course, and a sea cake.” Boasting proudly with all the inflation of a job well done. It was only considered such a success because Naomi herself had such a blast, shitty weather be damned.

With time, Theresa learned to expect the unexpected when it came to Logan, so it didn’t phase her much when the door was opened and there was Logan, playing up his role that was getting the child to double over in laughter. It really was a heartwarming thing to witness - the man bonding with his child and allowing her of all people to not only witness it, but engage in it as well. “Ah, see that was the plan, but I see the jester has already arrived and beat me to the task of getting the first laugh out of Princess Noami. Whatever will I do?” she answered in an obvious fake southern accent as if she was a damsel in distress. Looking over at the child, she held the gift bag with the tips of her fingers. “Surely I hope the queen doesn’t say off with my head, before I’m able to give this super awesome gift to the princess!” she stated, using the gift in hand as a persuasive tool.

“Clever. Not quite as entertaining as we were hoping for.” He quipped back. Allowing her to step in further so he could shut the door as baby blue eyes of the child came toddling over. Instead of going for the woman, she was lured right on target to the bag to take and excitedly start to toss out the gift paper to find the contents inside. Logan was admittedly curious himself and was peering over the brunette’s shoulders (An easy feat given their massive height difference.) with the bottom of his toned chest barely grazing the back of her in the process.

“I do, but I also want her to know she should respect her body. I may be an activist, but I also am religious and would like her to respect herself,” Bethany looked over at him as she gave a shrug. Rolling her eyes at him, the brunette furrowed her brows, still not fully used of the confidence the man has. “I’m not admitting anything. There was alcohol and an Australian accent. That was enough for me to be seduced. You are so damn cocky. I really hope she doesn’t get that. Lord, I wouldn’t know what to do,” she shook her head as she took a sip of the water she had in hand.

“That’s what I was sayin’? Self respect and confidence in her own body to be comfortable naked. Don’t mean she’s gotta do anything while she’s like that.” He countered. Smirking as despite her thwarting, she still admitted attractions and he knew it was far more than just his accent that got her all hot and bothered. Along with it also being a useful tool. “Shouldn’t ya be be hoping for that? Great confidence means she had a great sense of self worth.”

Although they’d most likely hate to admit it out loud, Logan and Reese had been in contact a lot more frequently than they were when they first met. Sure it wasn’t to the point of obnoxious good morning texts at the crack of dawn, but they did talk on a regular basis. So it was no surprise that the two of them shared a conversation or two while she was away at her conference. Learning that it was Naomi’s birthday, and feeling horrible that she wasn’t there to celebrate the tiny tot, Theresa made it a point to bring something home for her as a belated birthday gift. After getting confirmation that Naomi was there with Logan at his place, she made her way over, gift bag in one hand, and ratted the knuckles of her other hand against the door, waiting for it to be answered.

Logan still felt out of his element in dealing with a kid of his own. He was rather brilliant with children but the fact more responsibility and judgment was put on him for this particular human being form whom he shared a direct link was nerve wracking. Not that he let it show. Still riding the highs of his win both at the Food Network and at a successful birthday bash. Currently, Naomi and himself were playing a game of dress up in which he dawned a plastic princess tiara and found comical gold by using it as a pare of shades, so to speak. The girl couldn’t stop giggling and begging him to place it back on his face each time he took it off. So, when there was a knock, he kept on his mask of sorts to answer and find their expectant guest. “Ah, welcome theatrical peasant. Have you come to entertain the royals?” He quarried, still in his role, as he motioned for her to come inside.

“That’s a great thing to teach her, Logan. That’s just what she needs to hear,” she rolled her eyes at him as she followed the father and daughter, giving a smile when Naomi touched the water to play. Listening to him speak, she shook her head, looking over at him  “I doubt you used that seduction for me because I don’t think any dancing would have done that. Actually, I don’t even know how you seduced me, so we won’t even talk about that,” she spoke softly, watching the child. “Really just thought it was your accent.”

“Ya think someone as ‘progressive’ as you would promote body confidence.” The man quipped with that little smirk of his. He swore he heard a soft swooning after the display and he looked to the source out of habit to give whichever woman it was a little wink. “It wasn’t just my accent, admit it. I know I’m good looking, you know I’m good looking. I got charm, though you try to deny it, and I know how to move my body in several different situations. That’s enough to seduce anyone on the spot. There’s no shame in admitting it.”

Rolling her eyes with a smile, the brunette nodded her head in thought for a moment. “From what I remember they are very extreme. You go all out. She deserves it. She was very excited to put her little swimsuit on that she ran around naked until I was done getting ready holding it in her hands. As cute as it was, it was also something I need to work on. Being naked is not a good thing,” she let out a laugh as she paused for a moment. “Well, it can be, but you know what I mean. She can’t do that.” Beth smiled as she watched him with her, taking a drink from the waiters walking around. “You dancing? I almost want to see it,” the brunette gave a small smirk as Naomi pointed to the pool. 

“Don’t listen to her, kiddo. There’s nothing wrong with being naked and comfortable in your own home. So long as others don’t see ya.” Yet. Not wanting to think of when that ‘yet’ part may actually come. Instead, he brought the child over to the pool where a couple chubby kids were already joining in to splash and play. Carefully plonking her down to join in the fun. “I’m a fantastic dancer, thank you. It’s one of my many forms of seduction~.” He made sure to whisper out the last word to spare children’s ears.

“I mean, it pretty much looks like that,” she laughed, shrugging her shoulders. She resisted snorting narrowly, clenching her jaw. She was unimpressed, and him telling her to not get so defensive wasn’t helping. Her home had been demolished, she could get as defensive as she damn well wanted. “Remove the stick?” she said with a sudden, startled laugh, “There’s no stick to begin with. I just don’t appreciate being accused of ripping people off during a literally tragedy.” Sure, people liked to laugh in times of strife, but Katie figured it helped if the jokes were actually funny and not blatantly offensive. Letting loose a slow, deep breath, Katie swallowed her pride. This wasn’t about her and her feelings. “That…would be really great if you don’t mind. I’ll be here for a while, I sent out a couple tweets that might have more people coming by to donate. Clothes and food are a big one. I helped with Harvey and Ivan relief efforts, so it’s…I know generally what goes quick. Thank you.” She was still feeling defensive, but this wasn’t about her, and if this guy wanted to help out, she didn’t care what he said to her.

“It kinda sounds like there’s a stick.” Calling the woman out with the brief minor narrowing of his own brows. “It was just a joke, alright? I didn’t really think ya were taking a shit ton of can goods and water from people for yourself.” Nodding lightly in concurrence to the fact. It wasn’t as if he full on attacked her or anything and he refused to apologize for someone being so uptight. Especially when it felt like she was defensively bragging about all her efforts. As much as he enjoyed bragging, he rarely did it when his charitable actions were involved. It felt like a cheap means of praise for doing good in the world that people should already be willing to do out of the goodness of their hearts. Though, she seemed genuine enough, bragging aside. Gesturing back over his shoulder with his left hand as his right pulled out his phone, sending out a quick tweet in a call to arms, so to speak, he distractedly spoke, “My restaurant. Ya can come and wait in there. We’re shifting out our supplies. Got some food that would otherwise go to waste which is perfectly good.” Forgoing mentioning they’re usually for the homeless as he often made donations as he knew the situation of the affected was a little more dire. “Should have people popping up soon to bring more things, too. I sent out a tweet about it.” Holding up his screen as evidence of just that.

“Ah, perfecto, you’re the best.” Jo grinned, fishing her phone from her clutch. It felt just a bit weird as Logan slid his arm around her shoulders, not because it was too much or anything alike, it just felt that way to her, she was able to shook the feeling pretty quickly, though. “No, wait, the light’s not right.” She said before she even set the camera. “Let’s turn around.” With his arm still on her shoulders, Josephine spun around until she found the perfect place. “Here it is.” Finally lifting the phone with the camera app opened, it didn’t take her a second to find the right angle and snap a couple of photos. “They’re great. Video now?” She looked up at him, not sure if he’d still be up for it or if he was needed somewhere else, that thought made her wonder why the man was spending so much time with only her.

He shuffled accordingly. Lighting could be everything, not that he felt there was any form of bad lighting he could stumble into but there was some angles where the rays hit his face better than others. He bent his back a little downwards to help fill in the gap of that height difference then put on a smile. Charmingly casual with a random doofus expression for the last frame she took. His eyes crossed and tongue peeping out before he straightened back up and laughed. “Those look alright enough for ya?” Making sure the woman was satisfied. The confirmation in hand, he gave a short nod of his head. “Same jist as before, right? What’s your daughter’s name?” He was pretty sure she didn’t name drop and it was better to be safe than sorry.

Considering the circumstances, Beth couldn’t deny that she was shocked when Logan decided to throw the toddler a birthday party for her second birthday. It was definitely a day that the brunette wasn’t ready for, her remembering how small Naomi was. It made her happy that Logan and Naomi were connecting better than she was expecting, so when he spoke of a party, she knew he would make it perfect for his little girl. Putting on her little swimsuit and skirt, Beth put the toddler’s hair in little pigtails, kissing her on the cheek as she hugged the little girl tight. “Ready to go see daddy?” Beth scooped her up as they started the walk to Logan’s restaurant. Slowly opening the door and setting Naomi down, she couldn’t help but smile as they shouted happy birthday, watching Naomi run to Logan. “Daddy!” Beth slowly walked behind her, smiling as she looked up at Logan. “This is amazing. Thanks for doing this for her.”

Logan was rather exhausted piling this all together within a matter of days but seeing that little face had confirmed it worth it. His tall frame crouched down and he easily took the girl into his arms to hoist up while planting a kiss to her cheek. “Hey, my birthday girl/” He beamed. The words so odd and yet so fitting. Smile remaining as Beth approached. It was a good day and they could set aside their weirdness for a few hours. “Kinda had to. My parties are legendary, after all. It’s the only way really to celebrate such an occasion.” With that, he looked back to the little girl in his arms. “Whattya ya wanna do first? We can make sandcastles, play in one of the pools, eat, play something else? Dance around?”

The accent gave him away, so Katie didn’t think it was too odd that he didn’t know where the Panhandle was. “Ah, you know, Florida’s shaped sorta weird? We’re in the largest part of the state, but the Panhandle is that small area bordering Alabama and a bit of Georgia up at the top of the state.” It wasn’t necessarily the best explanation, but it was the only one Katie knew how to give. Annoyance hit her then, and her smile faded as she clenched her jaw. “No,” she said, tone shorter than normal. “I grew up in the Florida Panhandle and Hurricane Michael just devastated it. I’m not swindling people. I’m trying to accept charity so I can help other people who just lost quite literally everything.” Mexico Beach had about three houses still standing, and Panama City, which was was more familiar with, wasn’t much better. “I’ve bought a lot of stuff myself, and I’m going to donate to the Disaster Relief funds but…they’re going to need hands down there so I figured I’d…” She gestured behind her at the half full Jeep, “Do what I could.”

“I’m guessing the outer top part away from the rest of the US. Most I know about a panhandle is a legit part of a cooking utensil.” He shrugged. The girls tonal shift had him raise up his hands to his chest in a lazy surrendering signal. “I was just kidding with ya, mate. Don’t get so defensive.” It was a devastating situation to be sure. Logan’s method of helping cope and deal was to crack his jokes and tease. “Ya aren’t the only one doing their part but good on ya. Just... remove the stick, alright? Things are shit enough, people need a smile and a laugh, too.” Not mentioning how he’d just arrived back home from his newest Chopped victory where he’d donated all his winnings to the Red Cross that was currently there helping the devastated areas. “Tell ya what. If ya wait around about an hour, I can contribute some more food and possibly clothes.”

It was short notice, but the day of Naomi’s birthday had arrived and the man had whipped up a decently made party. It was a specialty, after all and what better time to utilize those skills than for his kid’s birthday? The weather might’ve been acting shitty but inside his establishment, he’d decorated to fit all the themes of a beach. Fake palm trees, inflatable sand boxes and kiddy pools alike were around with beach toys as well for his girl and her friends (and whichever adults wished) to play with. The food was also top notch, which was no surprise. Even if he had just made hot dogs and a couple various pizza’s, it was all to meticulous perfection. A pineapple mango fruit punch made special as well along with some pops and water, of course. Music to display oceanic themes were coming from the speakers. The Little Mermaid soundtrack to be exact, and a couple of his trusted staff was kept on to make sure everyone would be tended to thusly, while the party favors and cake was stored in the back. An hour before the party and the guests trickled in with the main star coming last, causing everyone to shout out (Logan loudest of all) “Happy birthday!” to the adorable child.

Michael had devastated the gulf coast. She was thankful her hometown had been mostly spared, but considering how poor the area she’d grown up in was, she wouldn’t feel comfortable until she went and checked herself. Still though, Panama City wasn’t that far away, and Katie had spent a lot of time there throughout her life, especially in college. It was still home to her, and she was really going to try to head out to Mexico City as well, time and supplies allowing. This was her state, this was her home, and as much as Harvey had hurt Houston, Katie felt Michael’s devastation was so much more personal. Grunting, she loaded another case of bottled water into her car, giving a tired smile to the people who had answered her call to action on Twitter. Taking a moment to breath, Katie leaned against her popped trunk, the borrowed jeep being ideal where she was going. Her own car wouldn’t have been good against the still prominent flooding in the areas. Noticing someone giving the packed car a look, Katie grinned, shaking her head. “Looks like I’m a doomsday expert or something, but I’m just loading up Relief supplies for the Panhandle. Driving up there probably tomorrow. I won’t say no to some donations if you’re feeling charitable.”

“Uh huh..” Logan had been going back and forth between the drop off of supplies for the week and the back of his restaurant where his other employees were busy placing the boxes he’d brought in into their proper places and prepping. He’d just finished up when his casual watch of the blonde’s own efforts were now caught. Wiping some sweat off his brow, he took a few more steps over, feeling it was an invitation to do so-- and peered inside the almost packed vehicle. “Panhandle being..?” It wasn’t as if the Australian bothered to learn terms or locations of most American spots. Features further scrunched from confusion to light scrutiny when his attention returned to her. “Donations? You aren’t planning to swindle people out of their money like some innocently suave con artist, are you?”

Chuckling, Josephine nodded her head. “We did, yes, and you were quite impressive kicking ass. Totally deserved to win.” She smiled. “She’s nine and God, she’d be thrilled if I brought her, and I mean, it’s really nice of you, Mr. Wolf but I’m sure you must be busy, working here and then with all your plans for a new bar. “However, I’d really appreciate it if you could take a picture with me? She’d love it. Or if it’s not too much asking, a short video repeating what you said? ” Giving him her best smile, Jo hoped he accepted —mosly because it was something it would make her daughter happy but also because she wanted to have a picture with him—,  the man certainly seemed like the kind who wasn’t shy in front of cameras.

He went through a theatrics of straightening out his posture and placing his right hand over his heart. Eyes shutting momentarily, he then dipped his head in a silent ‘Thank you’ to the further praise. “Tooting my own horn, here, but I’d like to think so. I worked really hard for it, even if it did seem effortless.” Sparing a deep chuckle, he didn’t think twice before he nodded in acceptance to the request. “Yeah, sure. Why not? Let’s do both. Picture first?” Initiative was taken to sidle up next to her with an arm slipping around her slender shoulders. He’d taken countless already and even done a few videos on the fly. Her notions correct as he was such a natural entertainer at heart.
