Alec just looked up at the door, the way the door slightly rattled as Logan knocked on it. He stared at it… He didn’t want to open the door. He didn’t want to let the Alpha in. He heard the apologies though and Alec wondered if he shouldn’t just let the Alpha come in and apologize to him. He found himself standing up from the ground and then walking over to the door… He reached out to the door handle with a shaky hand and flashes of what happened when Alec accidentally stumbled upon a room he shouldn’t have. He was ripped from the door by the guards of the Master and beaten to the ground.

A loud cry of pain came from Alec in the bathroom and he stumbled away from the door. He started to sob as he lay on the floor. He viciously shook… He had to get out of the room… He had to leave… He very anxiously looked around the room and the adrenaline rose in his veins… Escape and survive… He saw the little window and knew his chances were seriously slim.

Logan stood outside the door, well aware that the chances were slim of his presence making anything better for the omega yet he couldn't leave. He felt responsible for his current state of mind and he wished to chance it even if he had no idea how to do it or what to do or where to start.

A loud cry came from the bathroom and a cold finger scraped itself up Logan's spine. He wanted to kick the door down and chase away Alec's demons, but with a start he realized that he was the demon in this case. Logan was the one who had caused this and his presence was indeed not going to make anything better.

"Alec I really am sorry. I... I'll leave."

And with that he turned his back and headed back down the hall and disappeared into the library. Alec didn't need him anywhere close to him right now and that was completely understandable.

The way Logan frowned Alec suddenly felt like a child that was being scolded. He suddenly looked down at the floor and then took a step back from where Logan was standing. He hunched his shoulders to look smaller… He nodded and then quickly slipped past Logan and made a run for it to his room. He didn’t want to get in trouble again or what ever the Alpha intended for him, he instantly moved into the bathroom and locked the door… He stood against the door and then slowly sunk down to the floor.

Fucking pathetic…

Alec’s chest heavily rose and fell. He could feel tears burning up in his eyes. He pulled his knees up to his chest and buried his face in his knees. He could hear the screams from the Master, telling him to stop being so pathetic and do things… That he should be taken down to the cellar where he was left for days without food and water, tortured from whips lashing against his skin for just trying to sass the Master… He suddenly felt the whip against his skin and jumped… He leaped across the room to get away from where he was sitting… Trying to avoid the sudden pain.

The moment Alec hunched his shoulders, fear slipping onto his expression and it was then that Logan's eyes went wide. He took a step back and Logan took a small step forward,

"Alec I..."

But it was too late and Alec was running. Logan cursed under his breath and alpha fury bristled in the air. He tried hard to suppress it, to keep his anger down and to neutralize his frustration. Logan waited a while and then went after Alec, finding him in the bathroom with the door locked. Logan could smell distress and fear and the salty tinge of tears and in that moment he hated himself. He softly knocked on the door.

"Alec... Alec please I'm sorry. I didn't mean to raise my voice. Please come out."

Alec frowned a little when he saw Logan frowning, he wondered what the Alpha was thinking. Was he being rude? Alec cleared his throat and shook his head. He looked to Eveline who was occupying herself with something else and Alec sought out some comfort from her, she was less intimidating than Logan. He then looked at Logan and gave him a small forced smile.

"I… My day was full of scrubbing and cleaning but other than that it was actually nice."

He didn’t let the smile slip from his lips.

Alec shook his head and Logan tilted his own, glancing at the omega who was obviously worried about his presence. His own expression turned only to curiousness which he had to suppress. When he smiled it was forced and as a result Logan only kept frowning instead. He spoke about his day and scrubbing and he frowned even more. Why did Alec feel the need to work like a slave in his house?

"That s unacceptable! You are not a slave in my house. I do not want to hear about you scrubbing or cleaning again."

Alec smelled the Alpha before he saw him but he still wasn’t sure what he was going to do to Alec. Alec looked up from his food when Logan spoke to him. He gave him a respectful smile and then diverted his eyes back to his food. He quickly finished up and then walked to the kitchen and placed his plate in the kitchen sink. He sighed and turned back to Logan.

"You had a good day at work?"

He had to ask him something, he had to speak up. Slightly worried that if he didn’t then the Alpha would yell at him again.

Logan noticed how the Omega looked down, avoiding his gaze. He placed his plate into the sink and then turned back to Logan, who frowned ever so softly at the manner in which Alec has made himself at home. Without thinking he scented the air, sighing and then consciously opening his eyes and clearing his throat.

"I..." He cleared his throat again. "Yes. It was a good day but also very crazy. How was your day?"

Alec chuckled as he helped Eveline worked. She seemed to be more at ease with him and for some reason he felt a little more comfortable around her. He sighed as he finally finished up the work and plopped down onto the couch. He frowned when he saw Logan suddenly enter the house and he wondered what he was thinking about.

Alec swallowed a little and then Eveline suddenly appeared in front of him with a plate of food. He just looked up at her and she gestured to him to take it. He took it and then started to eat some of it. He smiled when the food tasted so wonderful in his mouth. But what if… What if the Alpha came back and threw the plate from his hands. He swallowed the food in his mouth and then looked at Eveline, she stared at him as she smelled some distress coming from him. He shrugged one shoulder and then tried to relax a little more.

"Thank you."

She nodded and Alec cleared his throat, he started to eat again. He wondered what Logan was doing… The curiosity started to seep into his senses and he just shook his head… Maybe he shouldn’t care so much about Logan…

For the longest time Logan just stood in his room, then finally seemed to wake up from whatever slumber he was in. He took a deep breath and carded his hands through his hair, loosening the tie around his neck and tossing it over his chair back. He rolled up his sleeves as well and then headed downstairs. Eveline greeted him and offered him dinner which he declined. He then ran into Alec, who was eating, and just nodded his greeting.

"Hello Alec. You seem better than this morning."

Alec suddenly heard his name being called and he immediately sat up from where he was sleeping. Shit … He over slept. He should have been up hours ago starting with his duties… Wait… Emergency surgery? Eveline? It just… It doesn’t smell like that other place…

As he looked around he didn’t see who was at the door they were already gone, but Alec quickly rushed to the door of his room to see who it was, but the scent suddenly hit him and he smiled a little to himself… He wasn’t in that hell hole any longer… He was safe… Or well kind of safe… In Logan’s house. He waited for the front door to close when he softly padded down the stairs and to the source of the food.

Alec came face to face with Eveline and he just smiled at her. He sat down and waited for her to place a plate in front of him, sure he wasn’t unaccustomed to being served but he was usually the one serving.

"I’m Alec…"

He told her and she just smiled at him. He quickly finished up breakfast and decided to inspect the house a little. He walked around, looking at paintings at photos… He entered rooms and just looked at them, quickly walking out after he’ve seen enough. He almost bumped into Eveline with her hands full with supplies to clean the house.

"I can help you."

At first she seem to protest but Alec demanded. She then just smiled at him again and he took some of the things from her. He started to help her clean up around the house. He did the living room, guest room, master bed room, kitchen and the study. All the other rooms Eveline took care of, all the smaller rooms.

For the most part of the day Logan was caught in the surgery room, working on the emergency case. It was one of those surgeries that couldn't be done in under 4 hours and so Logan worked professionally and efficiently. Finally when the surgery came to an end his patient was stable and Logan nodded approval at the men and woman who had helped him. The patient was rolled out of the ward and Logan exited as well, slipping out of his scrubs and tossing them into a basket.

A woman came to his side as he washed his hands, smiling at him. "Well done Dr. Cale, yet another successful surgery and under these circumstances. We are really lucky to have you." Logan smiled but only slightly and nodded his thanks. Something was making him antsy and he just wanted to get home. He got dressed in his casual wear and checked out after making sure there were no more surgeries left for the day. He left his personal number in case of emergency and then headed home in quite the hurry. The street lines blurred by and he soon parked his car and slipped out.

He fumbled with the door lock and slipped inside, immediately assaulted by the strong scent of the omega and for some strange reason immediately felt at ease. This thought irritated him and he stormed to his room, tossing his case onto the bed and frowning at the wall. How on earth... why did Alec's scent just relax him like that? Why had he been antsy all day? He stood there for a long time, almost as if he were frozen.

Stiles nodded his head when Logan said he had cash before sipping his coffee, you see…Stiles still had a slightly irrational fear of sleep. The Nogitsune was long gone, but he really couldn’t change how he felt or the fear that had implanted itself in him. He wasn’t afraid of anything else…just sleep. He embraced the strength and everything else he’d been left with; but sleep still unsettled him. Shaking himself out of it and giving Logan Cale his complete attention once more he gave him a smile.

“College doesn’t pay for itself Mr. Cale and I assure you, I can always find more people interested in the information I’m about to hand you.”

The next thing out of Logan’s mouth had him laughing as he curled his long fingers around the USB drive in his hand. “The stuff on this drive can’t be found on google. Some information was based on things found in old books, and sometimes folklore. However I have facts to back up everything.” He wasn’t going to dupe the man, Stiles wasn’t stupid. “If you have any questions about anything on here, you have my personal number. I’ll answer anything, excluding more information on the Nogitsune, what’s there is all you get from me.” It had been hard enough to include that.

“So do we have a deal?”

Logan noticed how out of it the kid seemed. If what he was saying was true then it made crystal sense why the kid would be out of it like this. Logan knew how it felt, being this jumpy and so out of one's league. After all, he spent most of his time among X5's and other genetically engineered humans that could kill him in the blink of an eye. When the younger man spoke again Logan nodded curtly. He had a point. When he laughed at Logan's question concerning the integrity of the information Logan just kept a straight head and added.

"Things are never as they seem. You understand my cautious nature, don't you? Finding a trustworthy source nowadays isn't exactly an easy feat."

Stiles then said that Logan was welcome to give him a call if he had any more questions and Logan smiled this time. He stopped and turned to face the younger man, that slight whir of his hidden exoskeleton humming in his ears as he extended a hand.

"We have a deal, Stiles. Thank you for your cooperation."

Logan then slipped his hand into his jacket and retrieved an envelope that contained the cash. He gave it to Stiles and nodded.

"I'll keep in contact. I believe that we could definitely keep helping each other out in the future."

Alec nodded slowly even if it wasn’t really a question he just had to reconfirm he was actually running. Alec sighed softly and then looked up at the Alpha when he said he was going to leave. Something in him didn’t want the Alpha to go but another part of him would rather push the dominance away from him than keep him next to him in the bed or something worse maybe.

"Yeah… Alright sleep well… See ya’ in the morning."

He tried to give a little smile but if the Alpha… Logan saw it, Alec wasn’t sure. He stared at the empty mug for a while and then just lay back down on his bed. He pulled the pillow closer and closed his eyes. Finally some… good… sleep…

Alec felt the sun softly brushing over his skin, on his arm which was dangling from the bed. He didn’t mind it at all, he liked the warmth the sun was producing in this icy cold weather, so he just smiled and nuzzled closer into the pillow.

Logan was up pretty early, following the morning routine, getting dressed after a shower, brushing his teeth and overall grooming himself until he looked every bit the surgeon he was. The maid was already in and a lovely breakfast awaited him on the kitchen top. He helped himself to some coffee and got a plate of food and ate quickly. He checked his watch and sighed. Before leaving he quickly checked in upstairs.

As expected he found the omega still tucked into bed and smiled, shaking his head.

"Alec I'm heading out. I have an emergency surgery scheduled for today. Eveline will help you find anything you need. Make yourself at home."

With that he ducked back out and headed off to work.

Alec just sighed when he was asked to finish his question. Alec didn’t want to finish what he wanted to say. He just looked down at his hands and then heard the man’s name. Logan..? Not something he’s ever heard before. He looked up at Logan and then cleared his throat.

"… I… I don’t know…"

Maybe he shouldn’t say what he really wanted to say. That might just piss Logan off. He tried to think of something that would make some sense.

"… how I ended up in the road. I was just running— away"

Logan bristled at the man's unsure manner, fighting to keep the irritation at bay. The omega avoided his gaze like the plague and Logan just took a deep breath, straightening himself. He then mentioned running away and Logan raised an eyebrow.

"Running? Oh... Look you don't have to talk to me about it if you don't want to. Just- I hope you sleep well further. See you in the morning."

And with that he returned to his own room, settling into the bed and falling asleep somewhat easier this time.

Alec saw him smile, for the first time and it… It actually suited him quite nicely. Alec expected a back hand for his rudeness of speaking when not spoken to and he just continued to drink slowly on his milk, when he answered Alec’s question Alec smiled a little when he said that if Alec actually calmed down more he could sleep, sure he felt guilty but actually causing an Alpha discomfort… It doesn’t happen all the time with Alec.

"I uhm… I don’t know what…"

He cleared his throat.

"… never mind."

He started to calm down a little more. He finished the milk in his cup and licked up the milk that was sitting like a mustache on his upper lip. He put his cup down and then looked back up at the Alpha.

"I don’t even know your name."

Logan raised a single eyebrow when Alec tried to talk and then cut himself off. He crossed his arms over his chest and asked,

"Please finish that question."

Alec then sipped more at his mild and Logan just grinned and shook his head. Alec then mentioned not knowing Logan's name and he once again raised his eyebrows.

"You're right... I'm Logan."

Alec just kept his eyes on Logan and then just wondered why he actually cared about Alec. He couldn’t wait to get rid of him a few hours ago but now he just couldn’t help to not care about him… This was making Alec very suspicious. He nodded when the Alpha said that he was actually awake.

He watched the man walk away and then after a while he returned with a mug. It smelled like… milk? He frowned and then slowly moved forward and took the cup between his hands.

"Thank you."

He said very softly, he took a drink from the cup and then swallowed. The soft taste of the milk made him feel better. He looked back up to the other and made himself a little more comfortable on the bed. He knows that he shouldn’t speak out of turn but he just couldn’t help himself.. He had to know.

"Why… Why are you helping me?"

Logan nodded as Alec took the cup. The smile actually reached his eyes, something that didn't often happen. There was something different about this omega and Logan couldn't figure it out. All he knew was that he was different. He still seemed scared though. Then the strangest thing happened. Alec actually spoke out of turn, asking an alpha a question upfront.

Logan frowned, at first taken aback by his brashness and then actually liking it.

"I'm an alpha, we're built to take care, and besides the moment you relax then entire house'll smell better which means I can sleep too."

Alec just kept on twitching a bit even after he fell asleep. He then heard his name after a while. He groaned very softly when he heard the question. He opened his one eye and then looked up at voice that was talking to him. His eyes suddenly opened up and then he felt like he was being stared at for a long moment.

He just sat up and moved away from him, trying to stay away from the Alpha as far away as possible.

"I… I’m fine… Just a nightmare."

He swallowed a little and then looked him up and down. Did he just crawl out of his bed to come to Alec’s room? Shit what if he did wake him?

"I didn’t wake you? Did I?"

Alec scattered away from Logan the moment he appeared, crawling up in a small bundle, reeking of fear and distress and Logan frowned, unsure of how to act. He carded a hand though his dark hair but didn't go any closer. Alec said he was fine and that he'd just had a nightmare and Logan was just thankful that he was actually talking.

"Oh... well okay. No don't worry. I wasn't asleep anyways."

Logan disappeared downstairs and return with a mug of warm milk in his hands, strolling right up to Alec's bedside and holding it out to him.

Alec could immediately smell the irritation and he just looked down and away from the Alpha. He nodded and then quickly scurried off to his bedroom. Trying to apply as few pressure on his feet as he could. The pajamas in his room made him feel like he was being watched by the Alpha aggressively telling him to put them on. He hestistated for a second but the moment his angry face just flashed through Alec’s mind and he slipped out of his clothes so fast and into the pajamas.

Alec crawled in under the sheets and the way the bed just allowed him to sink down into the softness brought him the most comfort he’s ever felt. Well in a while. He closed his eyes and wondered where he would have been if the guy didn’t come along or if he was left at the hospital.

He closed his eyes and fell asleep. Nightmares got him tossing and turning… He woke a few moments later… Tangled in his own sheets. He looked around the room, he wasn’t sure where he was for a moment, but he remembered what happened a few hours ago. He tried to fall asleep again, it came fast again but this time he at least didn’t dream.

When Logan got into his bed the irritation still lingered and strangely enough the faint smell of the omega still lingered in the air and it bothered him. He kept tossing and turning, unable to drift off to sleep. Strange feelings were roiling in his stomach, things he hadn't felt before and for the first time he noticed the reason why he despised the omega's scent... he wanted it. He wanted it real bad and that fact alone was enough to make him despise the scent itself.

Something about the scent changed through the night and made Logan crawl out of his bed, growling. he padded over to Alec's room and found him recently woken up, tangled in his sheets. He smelled even more fearful and anxious than usual and Logan spoke up in a gentle voice, one that didn't carry the powerful alpha lace.

"Alec are you.... are you okay?"

Alec watched him closely, checking for any sign that would maybe make him turn on Alec. He didn’t fully trust the guy yet and he wasn’t sure if he was going to do that any time soon. Alec licked his lips just so that he could talk and answer the Alpha. He doesn’t even know his name but maybe that’s a good thing?

He just sighed and cleared his throat again, taking a drink from his coffee he looked back at him.

"I uhm… Fell… And it hurt too much to move… I… also was too tired to move."

Logan couldn't help but get irritated at the man's indirect answer and again he rolled his eyes, his irritation obvious in his scent.

"I know that genius. That much was pretty obvious. Look whatever, just go to bed. You need rest. I'll talk to you again tomorrow."

Logan didn't wait for Alec to get up and started heading to his own bed. He glanced over his shoulder to make sure the omega was obedient and then slipped into his room and then into pajamas. There was pajamas in Alec's room that he could find easily enough.

Logan got into bed and turned off the light, snuggling in for the night until he remembered. Shit!! He was supposed to have a blind date tonight. He sighed and decided to do something about it tomorrow.

Alec saw the Alpha moved over to the tv and just sit down in front of it and started to eat. Alec didn’t move his eyes away from the plate and just finished eating. He heard the Alpha move around the couch and he looked up to see him come closer. He took Alec’s plate and then walked off to the dishwasher. Asking for his name… At first the question didn’t register in his mind so he just sat there staring at him for moment. Then he finally understood what he meant. He spoke up.

"Alec."

My name is Alec, yeah… That’s what it’s always been, not everyone at the Master’s house knew his name but those he trusted did. Alec rose from where he was sitting but hissed at the pain and sat back down in the chair.

Logan closed the door of the dish washer and turned to face Alec head on. His manner seemed very intimidating despite the fact that he was quite a few feet away from the omega. He finally murmured his name and Logan copied it.

"Alec... tell me. Why were you naked in the middle of the road?"

Logan was very suspicious of the man, but he didn't fear him. he might had been big for an omega but he was no match for a full blown alpha. He looked to be in serious pain and Logan decided to let him answer one more question before sending him to bed.

Alec watched as the Alpha went to work, taking the pots off the stove and then grabbing a plate to just shove it into his hands, the could almost groan as the hot plate burned his bruised hand for a second. He then walked over to the table and just placed the plate on it. Pulling out the chair he looked up at Alpha when he spoke. He nodded, his throat really hurt to even try to speak and he tried to clear it… He swallowed softly and then with a very hoarse and broken voice said.

"Uh… Yeah… I can…"

That’s almost all he could muster up before he coughed a bit, turning his head away from the Alpha. He took the fork with a shaky hand after a while and then started to eat some of his food.

The omega finally speaks up and Logan is surprised at the voice. The man is obviously very skinny but he's no ordinary alpha. If he didn't hunch himself up like that he could actually be quite tall. He took his plate and sat at the table, which prompted Logan to raise his chin in slight disgust, walking off to the TV room to go and eat there. He wanted to know the man's name at least, but that would have to wait. He finished his supper and returned to the kitchen to find him sitting there quite fearfully, as if he was scared to move and Logan rolled his eyes, taking his plate and putting it in the dishwasher.

"What's your name, omega?"

Alec looked around once more, checking for all the escape routes if it ever got down to him trying to get away from it all. He smelt the Alpha before he even appeared in front of Alec, looking at him he nodded and then just walked up the stairs after the Alpha left. He couldn’t even feel his toes anymore. He stood there in the bathroom and let the rag drop to the floor. He quickly turned on the shower water and then when it felt ready he got inside.

He shuddered and groaned as the hot water stung his ice cold body. He just stood under the spray and felt his body heat up and then after he felt the water started to feel the same temperature as his body he turned it off. He stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around his body, he took a step out of the bathroom and then suddenly the scent of Alpha filled his senses. What…? He looked over at the bed and saw clothes there.

He took the clothes in his hands and then quickly slipped into them. They smelled exactly like the Alpha… He could feel the fear creep up on him again. He quickly walked back out the room and down the stairs when the smell of food drew him closer.

He looked down at the coffee on the table and then over at the food, his eyes drew over to where the pot on the stove was still simmering.

The omega soon came down the stairs in the clean clothes and Logan could almost start to find his scent bearable. The food was done and he took it off the stove and served two plates, replacing the pot on the stove and putting it off. He took the plate to the omega and handed it to him with a knife and fork.

"Can you talk?"

So far he hadn't said a word and Logan was genuinely curious about where he came from and why he was naked on the run in the middle of the snow. It didn't mean anything good though and he knew he'd have to keep the omega's presence a secret.
