What is this event?
Lokane week is usually a ship week in which we celebrate the pairing of Jane Foster and Loki, from both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Marvel comics.
This time around we’re running a redux event where we encourage fans to create new works using any of the event’s themes we’ve previously selected, and in turn we will be showcasing the works created for the event.
When is it happening?
This special celebration for the Loki TV series will run from the the 9th of June to the 28th of July.
As this event is running for seven weeks, we will not have a grace period.
How do I participate?
Create something new that features Lokane using any of prompts we’ve selected. Post any time during the event! Art, fic, graphics, crafts, cosplay, playlists, vids – all creations are welcome and no sign up is required.
When you post what you’ve made to tumblr, please tag #lokaneweek in the first five (5) tags you use. In the body of the post, please include what prompt you used and any applicable warnings, and tag @lokaneweek there too. You can also submit via the tumblr blog submit page, which is our preferred method if you don’t post on tumblr.
If you’re posting on AO3, you use the freeform tag ‘Lokane Week 2021’ or add your work to the collection when you post it by filling in the ‘Post to Collection/Challenge’ field with ‘LokaneWeek2021′.
How do I submit?
Post on any day of the event! If you’re posting to tumblr, please tag #lokaneweek in the first five (5) tags you use. Include what prompt you used and any applicable warnings in the body of the post. It's also strongly encouraged that you also tag @lokaneweek.
If you don’t have a tumblr, go to our submit page and upload your work there. Please include a header that includes a name or psuedonym if you are submitting anonymously, the prompt used, a brief summary if it is a link, and any applicable warnings.
To add your work to the collection on AO3: there’s an option to post to a collection/challenge when uploading your fic. Fill in ‘LokaneWeek2021′ (no spaces!) and your work will be posted to the collection. If you forgot to do that step, you can edit your fic, or click the ‘Add to Collections’ button at the end of your work. (You may have to join the collection in order to do so.)
How do the prompts work?
You can pick from any of our previous prompts! However we know that’s a lot to choose from, so we will be featuring a selection of themed prompts for each week of the event.
You are free to interpret the prompts however you like. For the quote prompts, you may choose to create something loosely inspired by the quote or by directly using it in your fic, e.g. using a section as dialogue.
Are there any rules to what I can submit?
While we love the library of works that have already been created for the ship, this Lokane event is for new works only. Works must feature Jane and Loki as the primary pairing, i.e. don’t write a fic about another pairing with Jane and Loki only being mentioned once and don’t have something start as Lokane but have another pairing as endgame. We would also appreciate appropriate content and trigger warnings for works, such as whether something is not safe for work (NSFW) or has content like rape/dub-con.

Do I have to participate for all of the weeks?
No. If you’re busy and only have the time to do one thing, you are very welcome to join in for that one prompt. But we encourage everyone to join in as much as possible.
I can’t post on the week of a specific prompt, does this mean I can’t take part?
Due to the nature of this event, where we are revisiting previous prompts and themes, you are welcome to post on any week or day of the event, regardless of what prompts we’re featuring then. All entries are welcome until the end of our event.
For this Lokane event this means anything posted that is tagged as #lokaneweek or submitted before the 28th of July, 2021 will be reblogged and included in our summaries.
Works may be added to the AO3 collection at any time. (And yes, this means if you get started and fail to finish before the end of the event, you can still submit to the collection even in the future!)
Can I collaborate with others?
Yes!
Though please keep in mind this is not an exchange, bang or prompt event, so we will not be matching authors or artists with each other, nor will we be assigning prompts or themes.
Who is running this event?
We have several mods. Samanthastar47, who is behind the @queencfthestarsdrfoster tumblr blog, Chloe, who runs the @starsandseidr tumblr blog, and Artemis_Day.
Plus this event wouldn’t be possible without the help and support of the entire Lokane Discord server, without which we wouldn’t have been able to organise.
