He wanted to steal my smoothie AND oatmeal this morning lol. He’s pretending he hadn’t just tried in the third photo.

He then ate his pellets while giving me the GRUMPIEST side eye the whole time

Well, I did not expect us to be going to the emergency vet today. He knocked over a plant I didn’t know he could reach and ate some. He’s eaten treats and his behavior has been normal since, but it’s better safe than sorry.

They’ve checked his vitals and everything looks good so far. Now they’re reaching out to the pet poison hotline I called at the beginning, to see about treatment, so in the meantime we’re just waiting, and he’s hopping around the exam room like usual.

We’ve talked to the vet and are going to do some bloodwork and the recommended treatment. He is still acting normal, running around the room and nibbling his toy which is good. We could be halfway through the window where the effects of the plant could show up as well.

We’ll be staying at a relatives for the night so we’re closer to the vet just in case we need to come back as well.

One flat tire in the middle of a busy highway past midnight later, we made it to my relatives. I’ve set some alarms to check on him throughout the night, just to be safe. He’s still acting pretty normal, ate some banana at the vet, and has been pooping a bit.
