Hail, Howard.
"I see what you did there. Hail Hydra. Goddammit. I literally cannot stop myself from saying that." He grimaced, leaning against the workbench with a tired sigh.
He clucked his tongue at the man and let go. Howard Stark was infuriating, even when he was a confused mess. No, moreso.
"Do not flatter yourself. I would not be here if you did anything correct. I do not enjoy success stories."
"You always did like to show up whenever I was at my low. Guess I’m fucking up pretty badly right now. You’re getting all pouty." He huffed, leaning against the workbench while Loki scoffed at him. Sigh. What a relationship they had.
Loki arched a brow.
"A god does not pout, but you are correct; I do like to show up when you hit a new low. Failure is far more becoming on you than it is on your son."
Hail, Howard.
"I see what you did there. Hail Hydra. Goddammit. I literally cannot stop myself from saying that." He grimaced, leaning against the workbench with a tired sigh.
Loki looked almost disappointed at the retort. It was such an old, tired line and really, after all the effort he personally took to come and visit an old friend in distress, he deserved more.
"It is little wonder that you cannot get under my skin. I am beginning to think that you are simple a collection of tired, old sayings."
"Maybe, but you love me either way so I must be doing something correct. Pouting or not." He grinned, not entirely sure what he was doing anymore.

"I see what you did there. Hail Hydra. Goddammit. I literally cannot stop myself from saying that." He grimaced, leaning against the workbench with a tired sigh.
Howard was aware of that, which was why it was so easy for Loki to tease him. “One day, I’ll figure out how to get under skin, like you do mine. One day.”
"And that would be the day I finally put you out of your misery."
"I’d probably welcome if what with this damn thing in my neck." He muttered under his breath before looking at Loki again. "What’s the matter trickster? You can dish it but you can’t take it?"

"I see what you did there. Hail Hydra. Goddammit. I literally cannot stop myself from saying that." He grimaced, leaning against the workbench with a tired sigh.
Loki grinned and loosened his hold. He never did take Howard Stark seriously and even less so now.
"So you will pout, but pout productively."
Howard was aware of that, which was why it was so easy for Loki to tease him. “One day, I’ll figure out how to get under skin, like you do mine. One day.”

Hail, Howard.
"I see what you did there. Hail Hydra. Goddammit. I literally cannot stop myself from saying that." He grimaced, leaning against the workbench with a tired sigh.
"You would probably pout." Loki withdrew his fingers then and resettled himself on the table. Reaching out with both hands, he grasped the man by his face.
"I would expect nothing better out of you." The statement was said as fact, though from the flash of teeth as he said it, it was clearly meant to tease.
Howard rose to the bait like a child.
"I would exceed those expectations by making myself useful, even without you watching over me." He huffed, feeling as those his cheeks were going to get smooshed together because Loki was holding him in such a way his lips could pucker with the slightest press of movement.
Loki grinned and loosened his hold. He never did take Howard Stark seriously and even less so now.
"So you will pout, but pout productively."
Hail, Howard.
"I see what you did there. Hail Hydra. Goddammit. I literally cannot stop myself from saying that." He grimaced, leaning against the workbench with a tired sigh.
Loki swiped his thumb over Howard’s chin. He was sensing more than simple science in play, but he did not ask. What he was more interested in seeing was where this would lead. Just how long did Howard’s patience stretch? Had it been tempered through time or was there a limit?
And what would happen if that limit were reached whilst that technology was still in him?
He would wait and see.
"What can I say? You are a favourite of mine."
His expression glossed over with a bit of recognition there but it was gone in seconds, too distracted by the touches to let anything stay other than sporadic thoughts and decisions to stay focused on the subject at hand. He chuckled, shaking his head. Loki always knew which buttons to press, always teasing his fingers over them, making Howard hate the anticipation of the press more than anything else.
"I feel so flattered. So many people watching me work. I dare so, I don’t know what I would do without the attention." A touch of sarcasm, a pushing tone of frustration.

"I see what you did there. Hail Hydra. Goddammit. I literally cannot stop myself from saying that." He grimaced, leaning against the workbench with a tired sigh.
"Observing. Is that not part of your practices in the realm of science?"
Cool fingers brushed against warm skin. Midgardian science did not have the same energy as the sorcery which he worked with. It was often erratic. A wild pulse, fragile, untamed.
It was thrilling to his senses much like a piece of old pottery from the ages of old would be to an antiquarian.
"I could remove what they placed in you, of course. But that would be dull."
"It is…So I guess I can’t complain if that’s all you’re doing." He replied, taking a moment, to look down at Loki’s hands before returning his glowing blue gaze to the other’s face.
Howard frowned. “But of course. Because you so do enjoy to watch me squirm.” He forced himself not to roll his eyes. Loki was always so difficult to pinpoint when Howard didn’t know what he was aiming for.

That is what you’d like others to believe.
Nope. That happened. I know it did.
Just admit it: you enjoyed my company.
I never do.
You should know better than to lie to a liar.

"I see what you did there. Hail Hydra. Goddammit. I literally cannot stop myself from saying that." He grimaced, leaning against the workbench with a tired sigh.
"Your Midgardian sciences fascinate me." He leaned a little further, reaching out to tilt the mortal’s chin up.
"So crude and primitive…it is a delight to see it all fall apart."
Howard didn’t stop him but he did arch his brow, curious. “What are you doing?” He asked, not really certain he understood what part of Loki’s words meant were directed at Hydra or Howard’s toys. Or just both.
"Observing. Is that not part of your practices in the realm of science?"

So I was that good.
No, you were drunk. You groped me and fell asleep.
That is what you'd like others to believe.
Hail, Howard.
"I see what you did there. Hail Hydra. Goddammit. I literally cannot stop myself from saying that." He grimaced, leaning against the workbench with a tired sigh.
Loki grinned. Leaning against Howard’s worktable, he tilted his head as if he were observing an interesting zoo specimen, his eyes alight with curiosity.
"A pity you do not say it like you mean it."
"If I said it any less full of spite and they’d flick my kill switch. I’ve got enough reason to stay loyal to the cause. Make toys that work and all that." Howard gave Loki a look. "You enjoy watching this sort of thing, don’t you?"

lokilies replied to your post:I am suddenly craving tacos.
Not until you satiate my craving.
Taco. Now.
You make it sound like you intend to disappoint me.
Well I’m excited to show you.
Then speak nothing more of it until it is time for the grand reveal.
