Every naturally occurring being in our universe contains a soul. This includes both living creatures and inanimate objects, such as stones, metals, and crystals.
This belief is known as animism.
Many ancient cultures shared this belief and rightfully so, as a presence can be found in all things.
This is not to say that every thing has a consciousness, though in some way it may. It’s simply stating that all things have an inherent right to exist, even if for a short time. If it weren’t ever supposed to exist, it wouldn’t.
If one sits on a riverbank and allows themselves to feel the life around them, one will experience a sense of wonderment. You can feel it in the soil below, the trees above, and even in the scattered stones upon the ground. While all of these things might not be necessarily conscious, they still have a spirit and sense of belonging in the Universe. Otherwise, they wouldn’t exist.
With this knowledge, one should know their place. Our egos have blinded us. We think that because we are “intelligent” and have developed more advanced forms of civilization, that our lives somehow matter more than any other form of life.
To think that way is unwise, as nature has proven time and time again that our status can be revoked by disaster or just a simple expiration date. The time we are given upon this earth, in our human flesh, is precious. We should strive to protect the forces of nature and sustain our lovely planet.
Instead, we are constantly catapulting our so-called “knowledge” upon our grand Mother Earth and blaspheming Her very name through pollution of all kinds.
By doing this, we are spitting upon the very soul-fabric of our Universe, as all spirits come together to form the ever-changing Cosmic Soul.
Knowing this, someone who is spiritually versed, should strive to make sure our planet is a cleaner and healthier place. One should take pride in being a part of such an amazing cosmic force. A force that isn’t completely understood, as of yet. We shouldn’t carry out environment-healing deeds out of selfishness, to prolong their own lives, or the lives of their offspring, but instead to better the Universe as a whole.
