Firey hot take The age of consent is pretty dumb considering it suggests that anyone over ~16 is instantly able to consent, though some may be underdeveloped or haven’t learnt about sex and whatnot, some may be neurodivergent and unable to consent because of that. Etc

It also suggests that anyone under that age is basically just a “dumb stupid baby” and anyone over it is “the all knowing, ancient person, unc” which,, isn’t true and also ageist. Some 13 year old could know more than a 27 year old, and yeah you get it

i had some ideas on fedi about stuff our community could do. Not necessarily activism but just cool things. Forgot to share them here originally, here they are:

A news blog dedicated to the radqueer cause, posting community news and current events, as well as various blog topics, comics/cartoons, opinion pieces, etc. Would have multiple journalists that each write one post a week, or perhaps every every other week if that gets to be too much writing for people involved

A learning website kind of like the previous radqueer wiki and Bt+ learning section, but more centralized. Would contain knowledge on various radqueer concepts, organizations, people, history, and more in an organized view.

A website for holding radqueer community surveys, which publishes the data for all of the community to see.

Various pieces of radqueer media such as a podcast that covers various radqueer topics with guests that know a lot about them, a webzine that publishes monthly, documentaries that cover specific radqueer topics, etc.

A radqueer fund that does all the heavy lifting as far as donations go and that gives that money to radqueer projects.

A merch website like MMS but that caters to all paras and transids, also selling transspecies gear and transid-affirming items (such as breast forms, packers, cultural clothing, etc.)

Mental health support for radqueers, like b4u-act but for everyone.

A state-centered website that compiles anti-radqueer legislature, writes about it, posts to a mailing list, and contains info about how to counter said legislature

I am speaking about this as a cisautistic myself, I've never felt more representation and appreciation by these people. Can't we all just be grateful they aren't stereotyping us and being hateful, abliesm is pure hatred and pushing harmful stereotypes. And stuff. Clearly they aren't doing that no? Unpopular opinion:

You can just claim you’re trace. You don’t have to do any research or even transition. If you feel in yourself that it’s a part of your identity, you can just identify that way. I saw somebeing saying that some beings weren’t “putting effort” into their trace identity, and like, that’s okay! You don’t have to transition, just like you don’t have to transition if you’re transgender. Idk why somebeings feel the need to police other beings’ identities; that’s not what our community is about…

🗺️s are not inherently abusive. Radqueer or not, 🗺️s can and do understand consent. Acknowledging that chronological/bodily youth can consent does not mean that 🗺️s are encouraging or forcing said youth into a relationship with them.

Believe it or not, you can believe in youth liberation and also recognize that it's extremely risky/can be very unsafe in these current times for chronological/bodily youth to be in an intimate (sexual/romantic/etc.) relationship with a chronological/bodily adult, unless the age gap is extremely minimal.
