“New Queen!?.. of Suta?” He was taken back somewhat reacting with astonishment.
Ratchet knew that Kira was very important to her people, but was not aware that she was as highly important as this let alone their Queen. Which made Ratchet feel a sense of gratitude for her and somewhat humbled him. To be in the presence of a lombax queen.. Something that he would not have ever contemplated.. Especially after how Tachyon had betrayed their race and him bonding with Alister Azimuth only for Ratchet to have see him meet a noble yet tragic passing in the end. Still he felt happiness for Kira to achieve such and honor, while being awe he thought about what Clank would say to remember his manners especially around royalty.
“It’s an honor to be in your presence, Queen Kira”
As Ratchet kneeled in recognition of her royalty, he had questions on his mind as to how she was to achieve this? How much responsibility had been placed on her? Knowing very little if nothing about royalty especially with his own kind. Though he did assume that she must be a very capable leader to be given such a distinguished rank among her people.
“If you don’t mind me asking your uhh.. majesty? How did this happen? I mean.. it’s amazing that you are given such a role but surely you must had to undergo alot of training and traditions? Not that I know much, unfortunately the last proud member of the lombaxes I met well.. he passed on..” He said with remorse and contempt, still feeling sadness about Alister’s passing being the only mentor of his kind he had interactions with.
As his demeanor towards her suddenly changed, she could not help but giggle. Even though it was just recently that she became Suta’s new queen, she was still used to being addressed as ‘princess’ or ‘highness’. However, there were times where she preferred just her real name.
“You can still call me Kira,” she said, urging him to stand back up. “To answer your questions, I have indeed underwent a lot of training. You see, before the prince or princess can claim the throne, they have to face different trials. They test our skill, strength, magic, and mentality. If we meet the required criteria, then we are considered worthy to rule Suta.”
She stopped for a moment to catch her breath before continuing,
“The trials were very difficult, but I was able to pull through. At first I didn’t understand why they were necessary, but now that I have become queen and have taken on new responsibilities, I can see why they were important.”
