Simon wasn’t stupid, he was a doctor for maybe five years now and he knew what bad injuries looked like, specially the ones who affect the movement. He followed Elliot to their bathroom and stood on the doorway looking straight at him. “ Elliot... what happened to you? “ His voice wasn’t calmed at all, he was nervous and clearly under stress. “ Who did this to you, babe? We need to call the police if someone hurt you! “

When Gael made the comment about Ivan’s abs, he raised an eyebrow to him. He wasn’t used to people commenting on his body since the outbreak, mostly due to him covering up to keep warm in the Russian weather. “I just kill Z’s.” Ivan simply replied, he didn’t workout or anything, only exercise he did was when he went out on patrol or looking for resources for the camp.  Letting go of the back of the table he was sitting on, he moved off from said table and begun to remove his shoes, which was followed by his trousers leaving him in just his tight black briefs he was wearing. “As long as you can fight and defend yourself from Z’s. that’s all that’s needed these days.” Ivan said referring to the body, before the outbreak having a toned body was considered ideal but for survival these days it wasn’t needed.

He was right about every word. People didn’t cared if you have a nice worked out body or not, if you had the skill needed to kill those things, you were always a priority in the camp, and Ivan was maybe one of the top priorities around there. Gael didn’t had any training on fighting or anything, he was useless on facing those things but he was one of the most qualified doctors in the camp, so maybe he was a top priority too. His eyes focused on those tight black briefs for a second and moved away, his hands slowly touching the skin of his legs, and Gael was starting to really enjoy that. He wasnt getting advantage of the situation, but the situation was getting advantage of him, he got down to one knee and kept moving hands around his legs, doing the typical massage on the area, looking for any sight of pain or descoloration on the skin. “ Do you feel anything? ” He looed back at his face once again, back to his eyes. “ I’m gonna need you to be honest if this bothers you, ok? “ His throat was a little dry as he spoke, he kept doing his job and moved eyes away again. “ Your veins look... stressed. They’re popping out a lot. “

It was moments like that when Daniel was reminded that life had so much more to offer than just business. Liam’s good mood was drawing him closer, it always had. It was the unique nature of the male that had managed to get Daniel’s entire attention from day one.  “We can drink to all of that, but especially to the fact that I found the smartest, sweetest, hottest and most curious human being on the earth and that I may call him mine.” The smile remained on his lips - could Liam be any cuter? No. He couldn’t. “The present.” Daniel nodded and was taking a first sip from the champagne, handing it back to Liam right after. “Mine is here.” He pulled a tiny box out of his jacket and placed on his own hand. A simple blue box, very small - a silver ribbon was around it. He knew that Liam was someone who valued romance, and while that often didn’t fit in every day, he had thought about something. What better to give them both as time together? In the little box was a thin silver bracelet, engraved on the backside it said                 Wear it for me when we reach Venice. Love, Daniel. “Open it. I hope you’ll like it, and don’t forget to look everywhere.” he said with a smile, hiding that he was actually curious to see his reaction.

He couldn’t get that stupid smile out of his face. It wasn’t always that easy for a guy like Liam to fall in love, in the gay world right now, many people just want the sex and goodbye, the maic of the mutual feeling, the eye contact and the holdin hands were getting lost and this was just sad. Liam was a romantic guy, he loved to live a real romance where he could really feel safe to do stuff for someone who would smile to him and look into his eyes the way Daniel was doing at that moment. One year was enough for them to really find a way to fill the empty space of each other and Liam loved to imagine his future with him. “ I’m not sure about the hottest human being part you know... someone else might be competing with me on that... “ He smirked and looked back at Daniel with a brow raised. “ But I like to think I’m the smartest guy in the room. “ He giggled and moved closer to him for another quick kiss. As Liam took a sip of the champagne bottle, for a moment trying to feel the taste of it like Daniel would always do with wine, his eyes moved down to the small blue box, it looked adorable and Liam was now curious to what he would find inside it. 

As he opened the little box, he touched with the tip of his fingers the little bracelet, and his smile went bigger, he got it on his hands and took a good look at it, it was just so adorable that for a moment he almost forgot to read the little words on it. “ Wear it for me when we reach Venice, Love Daniel. ” His face turned into a curious but surprised look for a moment as he looked back at Daniel. “ We... we never been to Venice, Danny... ” He almost knew what kind of response was coming, it was kinda obvious. Liam was always easy to please, he never asked for expensive trips with Daniel, to him just a breakfast in bed on sunday morning was enough for him to love that man, but he was quite happy to see that Daniel really wanted to do something special for them. “ What have I done to deserve you? Please tell me so I would keep doing it for the rest of my life! ”

The day had been rough to say the least, the CEO had one appointment after the next, with the lack of sleep the night before, he really had to see how he went through the entire day. Especially since he received a few texts from his boyfriend, reminding him all over again that he should come over after work. While Daniel had been busy, he had luckily marked the day in his calendar before, so he wouldn’t forget the special day. And of course he had also a little gift - but just to tease Liam a bit, he hadn’t really responded all day much, other than that he’d try to be in time. Not an easy task, but he really made it.

He shouldn’t be disappointed - the way he was greeted right away made him smile and forget the troubles of the entire day. He had still his business suit on, but it didn’t matter. “Well, I can’t argue with that.” he smiled, and before Liam could even say anything else, he kissed the male lightly on his lips, carefully so the champagne wouldn’t get wasted. “That’s amazing, and you got that expensive one!” he immediately noticed it. “I have also a surprise for you - I didn’t forget!” Daniel was actually a bit proud of himself, his blue eyes softened, as he watched Liam being that happy. “Shall we drink to the next year…years, decades?”

The first time Liam looked at Daniel, he saw that extremely handsome man and thought about just how different they might be, their livex were totally different, but for some reason, they ended up being a perfect match. It has been a year of great moments they shared with each other, even the ones where Daniel were very stressed about work, Liam was there to help, and the same happened when Liam was freaking out, and that’s what a relationship is all about, being there for each other and remembering whats important for each other. “ Hm... your surprises are usually a little better than mine, I don’t know how you do that, but, well... I guess I can’t wait! ” Liam grinned, he was happy, really happy. They were together for a whole year now, that was officially the begining of something great, and maybe that’s the real reason to celebrate. “ I don’t think we should drink for next year... “ He got closer from him and almost gettingtheir lips touching each other again. Looking into those deep blue eyes one more time. “ ... I think we should drink cause we’re here right now! We should toast to the present, cause the future we’ll find a way to figure it out together. “ He moved the open bottle to between them, and offered to him to take the first sip. “ So... to the present. “

Ivan moved his arms back and held onto the back of the table, leaning back, giving Gael more access to his chest to examine him. He looked ahead, not moving or making any comment as he felt Gael’s fingers moving across his chest. He could feel the fingers moving across the scars he has acquired from past encounters but didn’t move at all. “All I feel are your hands nothing more.” Ivan simply replied to Gael’s question as he looked down into Gael’s eyes as he spoke. Ivan wasn’t one to complain even if he was in pain, since a young age, he learned the results of weakness and wasn’t one to show any, even if he did feel it. 

Gael wasn’t thinking about any crazy stuff in that moment, but for some reason he grinned, convinced that nothing was wrong with the men’s chest. “ Well... no sign of injures, bites or fractures in here, just your nice abs. ” Gael stopped for a second after saying that, he literally froze, he didn’t actually meant to say that about Ivan’s abs, but now maybe it was the right time to make it look like a funny joke. “ Oh man, I wish I had a body like that, how do you keep this? “ He chuckled. That was supposed to be the moment where Gael asked him to take his pants off so he could do the same with his legs but he was trying to get a the conversation to a more comfortable point before that. “ I mean... I don’t actually have much free time to practice my body around here. “

“Well, we cannot have a repeat of what happened last time.” Ivan remember having to kill friends in the camp who had turned and the events of that night had on the camp since. Many lost friends and family that night, so everyone agreed these checks were needed, even if they did take up time in the long run. When Gael pointed to his chest, Ivan nodded before taking off his large jacket and placing it down beside him, which was followed by him removing his shirt and t-shirt he wore underneath, leaving him shirtless infront of Gael. 

Gael’s breathing failed a bit just by remembering the last time things went bad in the camp, that night he had to watch so many people get killed that he couldn’t sleep for days. He took a deep breath and didn’t even tried to go into that subject, for a doctor those were delicated things to talk about. His eyes moved back to look at Ivan, his chest was a little hairy, like usual, had some scars and red spots, all parts of a history he had no right to ask about, as Gael gave the first touch, his breathing was a little nervous for maybe no reason, he moved his hands on Ivan’s chest and down to his abs, first checking for any pain or chances of broken bones or injures. “ Tell me if you feel any pain, ok?” As he said those words, Gael looked up, straight into his eyes, they were not just blue, but very very blue, he moved eyes back down again and with both hands continued to touch him, trying to be as professional as possible. “ Do you feel anything? ”

There were so many things in that man that Gael liked to look at, even the way his own battle scars seemed to be deeper than it looked, he wasnt sure of why his brain was giving his those thoughts, he had a job to do, and it wasn’t about checking out that man, at least not the way he was doing till that moment. “ Well, you know what they say around here, we better prevent the chaos than heal from the tragedy. “ Gael got his gloves on and moved closer to him, looking at his face for a moment and poiting to his chest. “ May I? “

Liam had the lights out in the whole house, a soft playlist going on in the background and some nice looking dark red balloons flying around the living room, he was wearing his favorite white shirt and with a bottle of champagne in hands just waiting for his boyfriend to open the door. There was also a gift box on the table, but that was for later. as the door opened, he turned the lights on and Liam received him with a smile, grinning. “ Surprise!! ” He chuckled. “ Exactly one year ago, you had the best decision of your life, you put this amazing guy right here officially into your life! ” He grinned while yet holding the champagne. “ And tonight sir, it’s gonna be great! ”

Being a doctor means waking up early and being one of the firsts to start working, and going home late as one of the lasts to leave, Gael was quite used to that, and it wasn’t a problem to him, somwhow he was always filled with energy. As the man was reading his notes and ready to call in the first patient of the day, a familiar name. Dovchenko. The short pen he had in hands touched his lips while his fiery eyes read that name again. That man has been hunting Gael’s dreams for weeks now, not just cause of his voice or his eyes, but cause of the way he looked like a serious man, but maybe it wasn’t time for him to remember that, he had to keep it professional, so Ivan would come more often. As the man entered the clinic room, Gael gave him a short smile, keeping it simple. “ So... let me guess, you went for a run and forced your body to the limit again? Or is this just a casual check up? ”
