"I wasn’t briefed on you." autism stares at you
The start of the 8PM shift is always killer, especially when you know you're not going home for the next some-forty-eight hours.
They're even more killer when you remember there's a newbie you completely bluescreened on introducing yourself to, especially considering said newbie would be a direct subordinate on this very same shift for some time. Reconditioning, Kepler had been told, you'll whip him into shape just fine, Lieutenant. Kepler sets his synthcoff and his company-issued duffel bag on the metal bench in front of the lockers, pressing his thumb to a keypad on a door labelled 675//UTILITY.
"No?" He chuckles, reaching in to grab belts, holsters before he goes to check his service weapon out of lockup for the night. He turns to face the new guy, brows raised as he gives a halfhearted two-finger salute. "Well, you'll have to forgive the oversight there, sometimes the suit-n-ties forget to shuffle some papers - and, to be fair, I could've said hey when I walked in. Sorry, my brain's not usually on 'til about ten."
That, and there's a beautiful, beautiful dinner packed in a snap-seal container in his bag from only the most thoughtful woman in Night City. If he's honest, his brain was occupied with that until registering another body in the room, waiting for the caffeine to kick in. Kepler takes a long sip off of his coffee. "Mōri, right? First name Kenshin? Lieutenant Marcus Kepler, at your service. First night shift?"
