you have to consciously unlearn racism and continue to watch for it because it will come out without realizing. because so much of society is structured around it. shrugging and going "i dont care" or "i dont know how else to say it" means you are okay with being racist and hurting other people with how much you dont give a shit about them.

Feeling inspired... Might put off writing and think about it the whole time

i support universal free healthcare for one simple reason: if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness you should quit your job. quitting your job is the correct response to terminal illness. but you can’t do that if your healthcare is tied to your job
listen if somebody knows that they will be dead in a years time, and you are forcing them to continue to come into work, that’s fucked up. terminally ill people should be able to quit their jobs and live their last few months to the fullest. i don’t get how that’s a controversial opinion
Get peer reviewed:
This is not just serious illness.
It’s any illness.
No one should be forced to work if they have the flu, or even a cold.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
I love seeing stores and cafes that display and sell shitty local art. Everybody on the planet should be making shitty local art. Everyone in the community should get to see what shitty local art everyone else is making. Eventually you will find something and be like hold on. This weirdly speaks to me. I've never seen anything quite like this, whether because of this person's idiosyncratic style or strange choice of subject matter or what. And suddenly your favorite piece of art is a collage painting done by a woman who waits tables during the day and does roller derby at night and uses the excess flyers and paper menus from both places of work to make amateur art on the weekends and you realize this is such a bizarre combination of circumstances that has produced something so striking to you, how lucky you are to live in a world where this got to exist and you got to see it
it's really funny how the entire world basically just blew the fuck up six short years ago and nobody wants to admit that that may have had some lasting consequences lmao
like so much of Everything today is premised on the idea that the earth-shattering catastrophe which happened within living memory of everyone older than a third grader has had no meaningful material or psychological effects on the general public and i don't think that's good, lol.
"(some of) the top-line economic indicators (sorta) recovered (in most places) so everything is fine and we don't need to talk about it" is not a sustainable framework for interfacing with reality
"why is everyone so angry and paranoid now?" "why is politics so dysfunctional now?" "why is [x] [y] and [z] now? blah blah blah"

Jon in season 4 gives up all pretenses of trying to work on archiving and starts to make shitty memes of his past experiences as one
[ID: A collection of in-universe TMA memes.
1. An anime man labeled “Me (Jonathan Sims)” gestures to a butterfly labeled “Recording statements” while smiling naively. He asks: “Is this archiving? (Genuinely asking).”
2. Kermit, labeled “past me (Jonathan Sims)” looks at a hooded evil Kermit labeled “current me (Jonathan Sims) who says, "Don’t accept the promotion, for the love of god.”
3. A meme of rapper Xzibit smiling at the viewer with the top and bottom text: “Hello dog, I heard you like horror, / so we put horror statements in your already horror filled job so you can be scared while you are already scared.”
4. A doge meme. Doge smiles and is labeled with the rainbow words “Tea,” “So nice,” “Very fluffy,” “Martin blackwood,” and “Great assistant.”
5. Two pieces of paper labeled “Sasha” and “Not Sasha” are presented with the caption “Corporate needs you to find the difference between this picture and this picture.” The next panel shows Pam Beesly, labeled as “I’m sad (Jonathan Sims)” smiling and saying: “They’re the same picture.”
6. The old fist bump baby meme with a radial background. Top and bottom text reads: “I saw / Martin Blackwood today (It was from far away but it was still something).”
7. The “they don’t know” meme, which shows simplistically drawn people dancing in a room as a neutral-faced man wearing a party hat stands apart from them in the corner. The man is labeled “Me (Jonathan Sims)” and says: “They don’t know what’s happening here,” and the dancers are labeled “The rest of the Institute.”
8. A rage comic of a wrinkled face smiling with strain against a dark background. Top and bottom text reads: “This one is called forever alone. I feel as though this is very apt to my (and Martin’s) situation.”
9. A kid fist-pumping in front of a computer with the Impact text “When a statement records digitally.”
10. A picture of commentator Steven Crowder sitting at a table in a park. A sign taped to the front of the table is edited to read: “The Admiral is the best cat / Change my mind.” End ID]

He might know what a meme is but he's so bad at it

honestly you all are so annoying because motherhood IS interesting but fandom people are simultaneously obsessed with deciding that every woman has motherly qualities and completely disinterested in actually exploring motherhood as a role that informs a character. I do think exploring a character being a mother can be wildly interesting if they are canonically one, but because of misogyny, people just view motherhood as a totally unremarkable naturalized state that all women must inhabit!
